BAD EXPERIENCE! The front desk staff simply does not care. They will make you wait without an explanation. I had been going to this location for 10 years - same insurance. I preregistered, responded to their text confirming the appointment twice. Arrived 15 minuets before my appoint - self registered at the kiosk and waited. After an hour of waiting ... I asked the front desk why am I not being called and I was told they did not think I had a referral. Are you kidding me - the referral was called in at the time of the appointment - 2 months ago - only you knew if you no longer took my insurance. ................ I am done wasting my time with them. The staff is beyond incompetent. They gave my father the wrong eye test after waiting an hour and a half, the doctor was rude since we were upset about the wait time. They lied about why we waited so long. One girl said they forgot us and another claims it was the doctor we were seeing. When you call, nobody answers it goes to a machine, no one returns the phone call. They cancel appointments without notice. And it's all a joke to the employees. They are rude and have no work ethic. This place should be shut down Since they don't care about patients anyway. No insurance company should refer anyone there. read more

How do you have several patients waiting in the downstairs lobby for their 7:30 - 7:45 am appointment and the elevator is locked to get to the floor of their appointment. We were told by the surgi-center on the 1st floor that they unlock the elevators at the time of the first appointment...that didnt happen. When they did unlock the elevator and several people signed in for their checkup with Dr. D, I was told he wasn't here yet and that we would first need to see the technician. The Eye Center is never on time. I didn't have any problems with the Surgi-Center. read more

had surgery on my eye july 17th. had a follow up appointment on august 16th. when i get there, they tell me no doctors were in and i should have received a call. i didn't. took a day off work for that. have been experiencing, sever pain and swelling. been calling to speak to a technician all week left multiple messages for a return call haven't received a call back yet. i don't generally complain about anything but, the treatment i've been receiving is unbelievable. what is weong with these people seems like no one cares anymore. unfortunately they don't have a corporate office , i would definitely report this behavior read more

Being this review regards healthcare, I apply same viewpoint when I walk-in an establishment with more credence given to a health care institution - A company is only as good as its people! Midwest Eye Center take time to notice how your business is handled by your front desk employees! No corporate office, read other reviews - it's the service people. Thankful, my appointment did not go further! Convenience of location does not equate to great healthcare or whatever nature of one's visit anywhere! People NEVER be desperate! I don't trust my sensitive information in hands of front desk clerks that are insensitive, rude, patronizing to me when asked after 2-3 minutes waiting to be acknowledge. Two reps sitting with downcast eyes, can someone just acknowledge that I am here and you will be with me shortly? Reps are given notification, ELEVATOR, it has rather loud ring when arrived on floor (reps sits with downcast eyes several feet away, hop and a skip.) Hmm, Midwest Eye Center, could patients that come to Midwest Eye Center with challenge(s) to eyes, find reading difficult with maybe 10 size font? I find this hilarious when given 5 papers (couple sheets, info on back) to read and fill out (which I can read) then I am rushed to fill. Midwest Eye Center's website hosts no patient registration forms. Asked for copy of Notice of Privacy Polices, HIPPA, pretty much denied: rep didn't know what it was, the other rep responded to other rep - they had to look for it. Prior, paid my co-pay, asked for receipt, stood there several minutes (with forms to fill), perturbed with the situation and physical pain. I advised, please bring receipt to me once the rep was finished with mass production of something on printer - a nightmare that I am reliving as I typed! Were they not in violation of not giving me upon request the Patient a copy of HIPPA. I also, deliberately left information off forms, noting - 'refused', see patient. Why bother to ask for a list of medications when Midwest wants name of pharmacy to view all medication you were on in the past - 'refused,' no see patient -- this is an overreach. I realized now Midwest Eye Care created a violation with not giving upon request by patient copy of HIPPA. I can not begin to rationalized my ordeal, temporary relief then RUN, never looking back? I marched to desk, asked for return of co-pay (which took forever), ALL forms returned to me (regardless of having copies made that i signed and wrote refused.) MY EYES WEREN'T WIDE OPEN starting at front door: 1st floor receptionist (cheerful), no temperature check, asked to have hand for sanitizer then told take the elevator 2nd floor, they will check you in. My mind rationalizing: hand sanitizer, push elevator button, no temperature check, off elevator 2nd floor, to right of elevator mounted on wall, sanitizer EMPTY, none displayed on long counter where three reps set. read more

Horrible just Horrible I would give this facility a 0 had appt @ 7:45 it's 9:26am and we are still here. It's like they take advantage of the senior citizens or Hispanics who can not fend for themselves. If they don't have the Drs. Why do they overbook. I had to literally ask to see what's going on with my mom's appt - finally they passed us to dr - no more then 4min with her the only 2 girls that were so helpful are the schedulers. This place is slower than slow, we got here early 45 minutes early, 3 hours later we are still here, this is pretty sad considering most these patients are older, diabetics , and other medical issues. They don't need to spend the day in here, they need to do better and get it together! read more

Too long of a wait to be seen. Should not have to wait 3 hours when you Have an appointment and arrived on time. Desk clerks never raise head up to acknowledge your presence. You literally have to walk up and clear your throat. lol. It's just too lengthy of a wait. Some staff is rude. They never answer the phone period. The eye glass pick up area is a joke. Those people are really rude, uncaring, no smile or greeting. They make it seem like you're waisting their time. Whole process is rushed. They need to do better. Lens crafters and the others have better customer service than them. May have something to do with cushioned having state funded insurance. If I had private insurance it may have gone better. read more

My rating is for your telephone service.The last number of times I called it took 20 to 30 min. to get through. Today I gave up.

Waited over 40 min after getting checked in. Saw doctor wandering but we were first appointments and I waited with 4 other people. Second time it happened. Had cataract surgery 6 months ago and spent extra for Lens and it doesn't work. Saw the surgeon initially and liked him but never saw him afterward and told by staff he doesn't see patients. read more

I went into location... They act like they didn't want to be at work today. The young Hispanic lady named Vivian or whatever her name was had a attitude that I didn't complete a school form in which she NEVER told me I had to complete it in order for my child to been seen by the eye doctor! I canceled my appointment. I rather take my kids somewhere where they are professional and happy to be at work.. How do you get mad that you don't give clear directions? The interpersonal skills of the employees that work at the eye center are poor. No one smiles and greets patients. They make you wait an hour before they see you. I believe they do not have enough staff, or the staff they do have are not doing what needs to be done to get patients and patient-family members out quickly. The first apoointment was supposed to be 1 to 1.5 hours, and it lasted 4 hours. Most of the time was spent sitting in the waiting room. Yesterday, was my mother's surgery, and they never told me she came out of surgery. When I went to check on her they said she was in surgery. They came to get me, and the woman at the desks tells me to have a seat they will give me instructions. I ask where is my mother? is she okay? She finally explains they are "dressing her." So, I wait. A woman comes out with my mother, sits down, and starts reading. I ask, who are you? I am a nurse my name is Patricia. I like to know who is giving directions. I am talking to my mother about the instructions. Patricia says,"You can go get the car." Again, "You can go get the car." I ask my mother if she is okay and wants me to leave the room. Who talks to patient-family in this manner? Why did I need to leave the room? I asked Patricia when she walked my mothet to the waiting room, but she did not respond. I didn't trust her with my mother. Why did I need to leave? What did you need to do without me there? I think it is terrible to make African-American patient-family members wait for hours in the Surgery Center without updates, or any information. Also, I think they make patients wait too long for exams and treatment. They schedule them too closely. read more
