First time at this location. We had a reservation at 8pm but we didn't get sat till almost 9pm. It was a little frustrating. I've been to the Chandler location as well. The vibes are slightly different. The Phoenix one has more upbeat type of music which I do liked. We got sat and I ordered an old fashion. Felt like drinks took a while to arrive as well. At this point we only had 45 min or so before they did last call or closed. We ordered the shrimp aquachili. It was slightly different than the one I had in Chandler. But it was still good We both ordered the carne asada plate. It was good. Overall the experience was ok at this location. Didnt liked how we waited that long to be sat with a reservation and limited time to actually enjoyed the time there.

The service was mediocre, the manager's stress level showed in how she treated us at the hostess station. She was even rude to the hostess who was running around like she was confused. Had we not walked a mile to get there after not getting into the first restaurant we came downtown for, normally we would have exited immediately after that poor first encounter. Overall: The carne asada was good but The food and drinks were overpriced and the service was not at the level for the price point.

First time visiting Miel de Agave in Phoenix, and overall the food and service did not disappoint. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with dim lighting and individual table lights creating an solid dining experience. Live music later in the evening/week adds a fun energy and elevated the nightlife vibe. Our server Marcia was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided excellent menu recommendations throughout the night. Entrées - Ribeye Aguachile ($24) - drenched in a bold, spicy salsa with the perfect balance of heat, acidity, and tanginess with a Tapatío-like kick. - Never Before Risotto ($34) - despite not containing mexican rice, this dish delivered a elote-inspired experience. Rich, creamy, and topped with five shrimp scampi. Cocktail - Classic Old Fashioned ($22) - smoky, smooth, and well-balanced, pairing perfectly with the meal. Few noticable areas that could use attention is restroom maintenance and fruit fly/gnat presence. During our visit, the restrooms appeared unclean, out of toilet-paper, and drenched hand towels at the sink. Surrounding our seating area were gnats which were persistent enough at the table and needed to be swatted away from our plates. MdA would benefit from more frequent attention throughout service hours to better reflect the quality of the restaurant. Overall, Miel de Agave offers unique flavors, handcrafted cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere. With a little more attention to restroom upkeep, the experience would be even better. Will return in the future.

So I needed another bloody Mary but I couldn't find the spot. I came by here months ago for a lunch with friends as it popped up on my Yelp but it was closed.. I then was like ok let's try it I see a Michelada in my future meal plans. So I had the ceviche let the church say amen fresh fresh did I say fresh. The huge fresh shrimp perfectly cooked and avocado yes on top of the Ceviche. Michelada excellent. I also had there green chili enchiladas with steak, the tortillas taste freshly made I give the dish a 3 but based on my taste I like more of a tangy tomatillo for my green chili sauce. They were good just unexpected. If you want a more creamy sauce then it'll meat your taste buds. I definitely recommend

No official parking nearby so would recommend taking public transport or ride share, got lucky with street parking ~0.3 miles away. Also tough to figure out how to get in. Once in the vibes were cool with very friendly staff. The food was also really good and reasonably priced. Overall would recommend going.

My friend and I walked in as the restaurant was opening for lunch and were seated immediately. It was not super busy. The waitress, Marcia, was kind and very knowledgeable of the menu - including offering a barcode on the back to look at how each item was prepared. The service was 5 stars. The food (which is how I rate a restaurant): we ordered the ribeye aguachile for an appetizer, which was very flavorful, tender, and had a little kick. We enjoyed it a lot. We wanted the pork belly but it wasn't ready. For our meals, we ordered the quesabirria. It was a little oily with less cheese than I am accustomed. It also was a little soggy in some areas. The sauces were good that accompanied them. *** Overall, I'd come back to try more menu items!

This is a must try in Phoenix! Exceptional customer service, Marcia gave us the best recommendations & everything we tried was delicious. I would comeback and order the same thing again. Interior is so clean, great elegant decor, lively music. The vibe is a classy, sophisticated, a place for a a fun night or a nice date. Overall a solid spot for a good time with good company. Very fun restaurant that has great drinks. We weren't 100% sure on what to order so the server brought us 5 of their most popular appetizers and everyone of them was great. We got the pork belly, elote, ribeye, and a few others! For dinner most of us had steak which was amazing especially since it comes with a quesadilla what a nice little paring! I would definitely go at night it almost looks like Cabo when you walk in! One thing didn't love was I would say it's a $$ to $$$ restaurant and they had the toast POS in their hands while taking orders. Such a small thing but I don't think this restaurant is casual enough for that especially with it being higher end Mexican.

Make a reservation! Tried to walk in but they are so busy we had to book a table for the next night. The guacamole was delicious, but very pricey. I have never spent $18 on guacamole but it was worth trying once - would probably not order again. However, the elote was excellent and I would recommend it. All the entrees were very flavorful, maybe a tad salty, but everything was well cooked and portions were very fair. One thing to note is the seating is a little crowded and the restaurant is very loud inside, which makes it difficult to converse.

May 1 , Friday 7:00pm The hostess was horrible. We walked in and she told us they were not taking any walk ins just reservations. Never cared to tell us how to make on or help us with making one .. we left and made a reservation for 8:45 online. We came back same host attended us and turns out reservations were behind 30-40 min! It just didn't make sense. Thankfully they had a table on the patio and we got sat within 10 min of our reservation. Sitting in the patio though you dont get the fullest experience with the music and pretty walls ect.. the food was great I have no complaints there and the server Juan was too.

We were in the area for my son's graduation, and we just searched good food near us! This place popped up and waw all I can say is the presentation from walking up to entering is amazing! Very great vibe and the hostess were very kind and commentating as a party of 5 with no reservations they worked with us and sat us in their patio area. Very nice setting inside and out, we had Jorge as a server and I just have to say THE ABSOLUTE BEST SERVICE EVER! He was knowledgeable about the menu gave wonderful recommendations on food and drinks. He was honestly one of the best waiters we have had in a long time, checking in on how the food was, refills on drinks and he even surprised my son with a cheese cake and poster for graduation! Such a cool touch to set up our night! We had birria tacos with the great sauce and beans, three green sour cream steak enchiladas with a tasty salad and burger and fries! A few shots of don julio and a couple Mexican candy shots that Jorge recommended for me since I didn't want anything too harsh or strong! That was the BEST SHOT I EVER HAD! And will now be my go to!!! We will be back for more delicious food and great service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I will start out by saying the space is lovely. Our friend ordered a beer and when the drinks arrived he was informed the keg was empty because it had been a busy week (crazy excuse). We were there on a Friday and they should have the kegs ready to go. He then ordered another beer and was told they were out. So the third choice arrived and it was not cold, so he went to the bar and got ice. Frankly our server was very condescending about the situation. The steak was good and the service was friendly, but the atmosphere was a major disappointment. Rather than feeling refined or upscale, the space had an overly club-like vibe that made it difficult to enjoy a proper dining experience. We were seated directly next to the kitchen entrance, which was loud and disruptive, only adding to the already noisy dining room where guests spoke over one another. Miel de Agave was awesome! Great food, cool vibe, and Danelle totally made the night. She was super friendly, full of energy, and just on it the whole time. Gave us great recs, kept everything flowing, and made us feel like regulars. Menu is exceptional with classic dishes slightly reimagined to deliver the expected flavors but with a modern twist all the while keeping true to the origins of Mexican cuisine. My husband and I found this hidden gem in the heart of Phoenix. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. From appetizers to the entrées, everything was meticulously plated, and perfectly seasoned. To top it off they had the most talented saxophonist. My husband had the enchiladas and I had the surf and turf. Highly recommend those entrees and the Mexico City Elote, Ribeye Agua Chile (spicy) for starting off. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Make sure you have reservations as there are not many tables in order to make room for a dance floor. Food is tasty upscale Mexican but not a great value as the portions are small. I would come already fed and enjoy the cocktails and ambiance. read more

Last time I was here the food and service was actually really good and the free drink to leave a review was a nice added touch... but tonight, the service was incredibly awful and the food was mediocre. And was left no choice but to leave 20% gratuity due to there tablet. The waitress was incredibly rude from the moment we sat down, the manager who was so nice took our order because she never came back. The steak fajitas I ordered were so fatty and never came with the sides that were offered on the menu. And the waitress never came back to check on us to the point where we had to close out with the manager who originally took our order. read more

There was a cockroach in my drink, (to which I had a few sips of before realizing) our food arrived and we let the waitress know about my drink with the cockroach and she said she'll get me another drink but at that point I don't want another drink I wanna leave because that's just absolutely unacceptable. I asked him why they changed the menu and he put up his hands as if to say he's not to blame and said he doesn't have anything to do with those decisions. He said that "management decided to make a few substitutions but they're pretty good" and didn't provide any further elaboration. I ordered the appetizer lamb lollipops which had four small pieces for $25. My friend decided to try the "happy hour" cheeseburger and he said it was good but it did appear a bit overpriced for an average burger with a pretty hefty serving of french fries. I really wasn't impressed by the quality of the food, the portion size, the price, or the service. Unfortunately, I'll be taking Rough Rider off my list of regular places i frequent and restaurants I recommend to others.

We eventually were set at a table and Q was our server. Q was a breath of fresh air compared to the experience we had outside, even though he was swamped with several tables inside and outside we never had to wait too long to place an order refresh on the drinks or get any type of accommodation. For food, I got the beef hash. Overall it was tasty. I did have to ask for some butter to put on my toast and the toast was dry. Also had to ask for a knife. I don't know how they expected me to get the jelly from the packets onto the damn toast. My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich and he enjoyed that but wanted more meat so I would see if you could ask for an extra Patty for a little bit of a up charge to make sure you're full. He also ordered the burger to go and he enjoyed that we shared the five spice beignets and those were a nice treat very fluffy and were fried just like they do down in New Orleans. I will say that the accompanying caramel sauce was interesting. I didn't hate it, but I'm not sure. I like it either. Overall, it was a good dining experience maybe comeback for happy hour. I don't think I'll be back for brunch as the floor was sticky some of the staff or hung over and getting items at times took a while. Also, I thought my drink was a little weak when I ordered the blood orange shaken margarita but the one in the machine was pretty good so there's that. I will say that the overall experience was OK. I just think they're lacking in some senior leadership and you could tell that the place is being ran by people that are pretty young. It just feels more like a club vibe than going there for a restaurant like experience.

Wifey and I had brunch reservations and were seated right away. For their menu, they have a nice selection of uniquely crafted items to choose from. I got the Pyro Cheeseburger, she got the Sweet Potato Hash, and we got the Ube Panna Cotta for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had a great time here. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely consider booking your next table here and you will not regret it!

This was my first time here and we were seated almost immediately. That was nice. If you decide to try it out, go around 7:30 wasn't packed. Our hostess was very sweet but attentiveness was not a strong suit. Our overall experience would be zero stars for the restaurant and how it's managed, if it were possible. 1. Our drink order was taken 10 min after being seated. It took a very long time to get any drink to the table this is water included. Unfortunately, we never received a few of the signature drinks that were ordered. Those drink are $20-$25. Also if you get beer there is an additional $2 charge. They couldn't explain that charge to us. Weird. 2. Food came out, not cold but not warm. Trying to not be harsh but not what was expected for $175 dish. The meat had very little flavor. The bone had little to no marrow. Also was missing food that was ordered. 3. There was one dish that was really nasty and it was El Aguachile. It was only agua, and I'm trying to be polite as possible. We asked for something else instead. 4. Bacon wrapped pepper shrimp poppers were good. 5. The manager was walking around and was asking how our experience was and my niece said horrible before his attention was directed to someone walking by. So when he turned back she brushed it off and looked the other way. 6. Manager made the hostess (don't like the word server ) bribe us with free desert if we left a yelp. So we said wonderful, a bill that is over $1200 with missing drinks and food, it should come with desert. 7. We made our reservation at 7:30. It took them til 11:45 to give us our check. No we weren't just sitting having a good time. At one point the employees came up to us letting us know that after 11:30 every single person in the restaurant will be getting a charge of $25 for a band that they had playing that night. Once we got the hostess attention she pushed back, now making our experience in perspective of her least satisfactory. She answered me, and I quote "let me provide bottle service to the table behind you because they're getting antsy and I'll come right over". They had just arrived, and I'm not kidding, 5-7 minutes before asking for the check, which was very disappointing to get that response from her. Still didn't see her and the band had started playing. We were asked to move from the table for another party and to avoid the $25 charge. Once we all pull out our payment methods they declined one of us for having $300 cash. At this point I thought we were being Punk'd, but Ashton Kutcher never came out. This is a very new restaurant and we did highly consider that. But we are NEVER go back. We had a reservation to celebrate a graduation and were really looking forward to it, but the experience before even being seated was extremely disappointing. The hostess was condescending and rude, speaking to us in a way that felt dismissive and unnecessarily forceful regarding our reservation. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or offer any hospitality, she escalated it to the point where our reservation was canceled altogether. The weather delay day from hell led us here (along with a favorable Yelp review). 5 hour delay from Seattle, diverted to CA and then the dance to get to the rental car terminal was intense . Needless to say, we were drained. Upon arrival, we sat in the bar simply looking for great food and drink. Jorge came to our rescue. His warm welcome, empathetic ear, and most importantly, the amazing margaritas he prepared were wonderful. The perfect antidote! Wow, this little hole in the wall is amazing. We had the quesabirria and octopus tacos, which both were to die for. I loved that the octopus had grilled Pineapple and pickled onions, and the consume that came with the Quesabirria was some of the best I've ever had. We started the meal with the empenaditas de huitlacoche which, for the uninitiated, are made with a special corn that has grown a certain fungal growth that is not only hard to find in the US but also a particularly delicious delicacy.
