Do not come to this establishment, They will have you waiting for 20 mins plus. Because they cannot function, I found it very rude because I was making eye contact with this individual as they were drinking the alcohol from behind the counter. Which is illegal. Its giving Austin's 6th street and sprinkle a little more keeping it weird on top. Very eclectic. Parking: We just bar hopped so Im not sure the best place to park. However I did see a bit of street parking. Please read street signs and be responsible when parking your vehicle. Service: Service was great. The Bartender offered suggestions in lieu of not having the stealth margarita. I will say that I am not from AZ, so when I travel I like to have the whole experience, that includes signature drinks that sounds like they taste divine. Very disappointing experience at Ghost Donkey. Our group was asked for our IDs upon entry, which is completely understandable. However, the staff then took all of our IDs to the back for nearly 15 minutes. When we finally asked what was going on, we were told they were "not familiar" with some state IDs. The ID in question was a legitimate driver's license. It's concerning that a bar would be unable to recognize one of the most common forms of identification in the country. These same IDs have been accepted by TSA, Las Vegas casinos, and countless other venues without issue. Security must be new or extremely inexperienced. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the bar was nearly empty, so there was no obvious reason for such a long delay. Had the staff simply communicated what they were doing, it would have gone a long way. Instead, we were left standing around wondering why our identification had disappeared into the back. The entire interaction felt unprofessional and poorly handled. Unfortunately, it left a very negative first impression and we left immediately, never ever coming back!!! read more

Ghost Donkey is a cute bar perfect for Instagram worthy pictures. The drinks are a bit expensive but tasty and they offer a variety of house cocktails including some drinks for multiple people to share. Sparkling lights cover the ceiling giving the room great ambiance. Bathrooms can be packed and messy but the bar overall is cute and neat. Many seating areas though the bar is small so expect a wait during busy nights. read more

The absolute best. The best Latin music in downtown, best drinks, and amazing atmosphere. They have a huge variety of Mezcal and the manager Eddy, who we met earlier at Palma was more than happy to sit down with us and give us a rundown on what spirits they have and let us try his favorites, even on a packed Friday night. We ended up going to the bar afterwards and the bartender Jerry gave us one of his favorites too with a brand that Eddy had talked about, which gave the whole experience an even better touch. Even the security guard out front, Edgar,was so nice and cracking jokes with everyone, which doesn't happen very often in downtown. Most of the security in the area are serious and on edge so it was a nice change. Hopefully we'll have a chance to try their last bar Champagne Lanes to finish it off in the coming days!! 10/10 read more

Gorgeous bar! Met someone here on a Wednesday night just before 8pm. It was my first time here ,not his. May have been 6 of us total in the bar, guessing this is not the place for the after work crowd. I moved from Florida and lived in Dallas so that's kind of strange that such a cute , intimate space with good spirits can be so empty. Guess it's a downtown Phoenix thing because I have not experienced this when going to Scottsdale during the week. We had margaritas with mezcal and a shot. I'm all about some Tequila & Mezcal so being able to pop in here without a major line or wait was a blessing. Usually, it's a wait to get inside and then another wait for cocktails (which I don't mind). Luckily we were able to get drinks quickly from the bar, and the timing after 2 rounds worked out as we grabbed some seating towards the side for a few more rounds. I rep for the "season" crew & I never feel like that old man in the spot... Mainly because all the people I meet that night earlier at different places came through and we kept celebrating round after round... I loved the recommendations from my server, but after I ordered my second drink of the night she took my first drink before I finished it. My boyfriend left to take a phone call outside and she took his drink before he finished the drink. She was so fast I did not have time to stop her. Then they turned the lights up at 12. With our fancy libations in hand we sat in the back area that is dark and cozy. Perfect spot to relax and music was turned down enough by that time that we could have a conversation. I personally didn't have the tacos but my mom wasn't a huge fan of them. We did, however, really like the nachos. To our surprise, even though this location is much bigger than the "speakeasy" hidden in a food court in Vegas, they didn't offer some of the food and drinks offered on the Vegas menu. We took it as an opportunity to try different drinks! We visited in November of 2022 when Blitzen took over Ghost Donkey and they had their fun and festive holiday decor up. The twinkly lights were dreamy and very Instagrammable. They also offered a specialty cocktail at that time, Papi Noel, which we had to try. It was a deliciously balanced Mezcal drink with a nice foam! We also ordered Nacho Verdes which came with mashed black beans, jack cheese, poblano salsa, crema, cotija, cilantro, pickled onions, salsa verde, and salsa doña. I would submit a zero if possible. We walked in on Saturday February 28, 2026 and we were with our adult kids and nieces. As we stepped inside the front door while waiting for two of our kids (for barely 30 seconds), the bouncer yelled out you need to move in! I replied we are waiting for our kids and he got in my face and yelled "what did you say to me?". I repeated "we are waiting for our kids". He was disrespectful and something that I didn't deserve and certainly didn't display any sort of attitude that warranted this sort of reaction! Security aggressively approached my wife and I on the matter (power tripping) calling us liars and refused my request to review the camera footage to prove I was being honest and had nothing to hide. Turns out there was a different brown boy in a black shirt that went in with a girl to the restroom and not me, by then the damage was already done. I've been to the one in Vegas and now I can say I've been to the one in Phoenix. While more spacious than their Sin City counterpart, they don't have all the fun drinks and nachos like their Vegas location. Our party had all been to the Vegas location after having a meal so none of us had the opportunity to try their truffle nachos.
