Came here for the first time on my friends recommendation and love it, the restaurant is beautiful, as a former hostess I'm hypercritical at times but it was clean, tables were bussed promptly and I can't talk to the wait time as I came in the middle of the day, but my friend and I were sat quickly. Our waitress, Nancy was so polite and she checked on us a lot as we talked. The food was nice, I'm Mexican so I grew up on food like this and I could see a lot of influence. Cute enough place, decor was trendy - bar stools outside are tall as hell so if you're under 5'5" be prepared to jump lol Only stopped for a drink so didn't get any food - cocktail menu is small but seemed good. We got La Miel - the main spirit in this is bacanora. The drink was brought out and we did NOT like it - a singular sip was taken out of the drink before we decided we weren't going to finish it. It took the bartender 10-15 minutes to get back to us (the restaurant had maybe 3 full tables in total?) and because we didn't like the drink, we asked to close out. Obviously this is a courtesy, but in most places, if the server/bartender saw that your drink was untouched, they would ask what was wrong and typically take it off the tab because you didn't like it/didn't touch it. The bartender did not ask anything in regards to why the drink was untouched, so we asked what the smoky flavor was and the bartender explained it was bacanora and that it's even smokier than mezcal. We stated that we didn't know that and we didn't enjoy the drink - the bartender was nice but just shrugged it off, didn't seem like he knew what to say - charged us anyways for the drink. Not sure if we'd come back which is a shame because it's in a great location and i've been eyeing this place for a while! Definitely had higher expectations - would love to blame it on it just being an off Sunday, so hopefully things improve. read more

Went here on a business trip to PHX. This place was good. I definitely did accidentally order a $200 steak tho, which exceeded my per diem so I hadda pay outta pocket. I just assumed everything would be about the same price as the other menu items- this is not correct, do yourself a favor and don't order the "El Asada" unless you intended to pay $$$. That was definitely my bad tho, it does say "175" right next to it. My brain just skipped over it. The service was great- like three people regularly checked in on me and were really friendly. The drinks were balanced and unique- mine had a tasty hint of basil. And, the steak was good (though I don't personally think it was worth 2 hundo. Forreal, who intentionally orders that?). I sat at the bar outside and it was nice, tho maaaaybe a little bit dusty, probably just needs to be wiped w/ a wet rag. If I lived here, I'd go again and order something that I didn't have to apologize to my fiancé about. I'd probably bring her too, cause it would make a good date spot. read more

I had a mango margarita and it was really good great amount of tequila on it also had to eat the green chicken enchiladas and it was so good it had a really good flavor to it and so did the side salad my partner had the Paloma and the surf and turf steak and shrimp was good! Had the juiciest flavor l! the paloma itself was great so far the best we had tried in Phoenix.
