First time at this location. We had a reservation at 8pm but we didn't get sat till almost 9pm. It was a little frustrating. I've been to the Chandler location as well. The vibes are slightly different. The Phoenix one has more upbeat type of music which I do liked. We got sat and I ordered an old fashion. Felt like drinks took a while to arrive as well. At this point we only had 45 min or so before they did last call or closed. We ordered the shrimp aquachili. It was slightly different than the one I had in Chandler. But it was still good We both ordered the carne asada plate. It was good. Overall the experience was ok at this location. Didnt liked how we waited that long to be sat with a reservation and limited time to actually enjoyed the time there.

I came here for dinner & it got busy as the night went on. Service was friendly and attentive. The Mexico Rib Style Elote were cut in to slices, had good flavor, & are great for a shareable appetizer. The Ribeye Aguachile is sliced thin & had a nice heat to it. The Infamous Quesabirria has a crispy shell & stuffed very well with dipping/pour on sauce. The Bacanora Tacos are bacon wrapped shrimp which was my favorite dish we ate. The Tres Leches Cake has a thick layer of frosting on top & is well soaked with milk.

First time here. Jazmyn was our server. She did absolutely amazing. She was attentive and answered any questions we had. One of the best steaks I've had! I will definitely be back. Noise level was good but it was also before dinner rush. Place tastefully decorated, dimly lit, butt he lighting was still good.

We came here for my bday dinner and it was delicious! We got an appetizer, entrees and dessert and every thing was really good. The vibe is very fun with kind of a fancy/partying feel. Great place for a birthday dinner. I would recommend a reservation if coming on a weekend during dinner time if you have a big group. Our food came out quickly and the waitresses kept our waters full and checked on us the perfect amount.

First time visiting Miel de Agave in Phoenix, and overall the food and service did not disappoint. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with dim lighting and individual table lights creating an solid dining experience. Live music later in the evening/week adds a fun energy and elevated the nightlife vibe. Our server Marcia was attentive, knowledgeable, and provided excellent menu recommendations throughout the night. Entrées - Ribeye Aguachile ($24) - drenched in a bold, spicy salsa with the perfect balance of heat, acidity, and tanginess with a Tapatío-like kick. - Never Before Risotto ($34) - despite not containing mexican rice, this dish delivered a elote-inspired experience. Rich, creamy, and topped with five shrimp scampi. Cocktail - Classic Old Fashioned ($22) - smoky, smooth, and well-balanced, pairing perfectly with the meal. Few noticable areas that could use attention is restroom maintenance and fruit fly/gnat presence. During our visit, the restrooms appeared unclean, out of toilet-paper, and drenched hand towels at the sink. Surrounding our seating area were gnats which were persistent enough at the table and needed to be swatted away from our plates. MdA would benefit from more frequent attention throughout service hours to better reflect the quality of the restaurant. Overall, Miel de Agave offers unique flavors, handcrafted cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere. With a little more attention to restroom upkeep, the experience would be even better. Will return in the future.

First time here, it was definitely a surprise! Loved the atmosphere they had! It was Saturday night but it was pretty busy! Loved the LED lights and the ambiance. Music was decently loud, but you could hold a conversation if you're not hard of hearing. I ordered the Sonora tacos but they were out of chicken so I got shrimp. 5/5 on the food and the green salsa was SPICY. Be careful The drinks were decent, not over poured and not overpriced. GREAT drink presentations! Restrooms were clean and stocked. I would come back

So I needed another bloody Mary but I couldn't find the spot. I came by here months ago for a lunch with friends as it popped up on my Yelp but it was closed.. I then was like ok let's try it I see a Michelada in my future meal plans. So I had the ceviche let the church say amen fresh fresh did I say fresh. The huge fresh shrimp perfectly cooked and avocado yes on top of the Ceviche. Michelada excellent. I also had there green chili enchiladas with steak, the tortillas taste freshly made I give the dish a 3 but based on my taste I like more of a tangy tomatillo for my green chili sauce. They were good just unexpected. If you want a more creamy sauce then it'll meat your taste buds. I definitely recommend

The service was mediocre, the manager's stress level showed in how she treated us at the hostess station. She was even rude to the hostess who was running around like she was confused. Had we not walked a mile to get there after not getting into the first restaurant we came downtown for, normally we would have exited immediately after that poor first encounter. Overall: The carne asada was good but The food and drinks were overpriced and the service was not at the level for the price point.

This is a must try in Phoenix! Exceptional customer service, Marcia gave us the best recommendations & everything we tried was delicious. I would comeback and order the same thing again. Very fun restaurant that has great drinks. We weren't 100% sure on what to order so the server brought us 5 of their most popular appetizers and everyone of them was great. We got the pork belly, elote, ribeye, and a few others! For dinner most of us had steak which was amazing especially since it comes with a quesadilla what a nice little paring! I would definitely go at night it almost looks like Cabo when you walk in! One thing didn't love was I would say it's a $$ to $$$ restaurant and they had the toast POS in their hands while taking orders. Such a small thing but I don't think this restaurant is casual enough for that especially with it being higher end Mexican.

We were in the area for my son's graduation, and we just searched good food near us! This place popped up and waw all I can say is the presentation from walking up to entering is amazing! Very great vibe and the hostess were very kind and commentating as a party of 5 with no reservations they worked with us and sat us in their patio area. Very nice setting inside and out, we had Jorge as a server and I just have to say THE ABSOLUTE BEST SERVICE EVER! He was knowledgeable about the menu gave wonderful recommendations on food and drinks. He was honestly one of the best waiters we have had in a long time, checking in on how the food was, refills on drinks and he even surprised my son with a cheese cake and poster for graduation! Such a cool touch to set up our night! We had birria tacos with the great sauce and beans, three green sour cream steak enchiladas with a tasty salad and burger and fries! A few shots of don julio and a couple Mexican candy shots that Jorge recommended for me since I didn't want anything too harsh or strong! That was the BEST SHOT I EVER HAD! And will now be my go to!!! We will be back for more delicious food and great service! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I went yesterday. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed but did let us know she'd be back in five minutes as she was assisting other guests. After we were seated, we waited for 15 minutes without anyone approaching us--not even to offer water or let us know there might be a delay, like the hostess had. The waitstaff seemed more focused on closing tabs than acknowledging new customers. I understand this is a relatively new place and they might be short-staffed, but they could definitely use some guidance on how to provide a better customer experience. read more

Service was terrible. Sat us down at the outside patio and waited 30-40min to be served. We didn't get serve actually not even waters. The waiter a Mexican girl with straight blonde hair would just walk by us. Asked and served the tables next to us but didn't even acknowledge us once. We ended up walking out. Miel de Agave was excellent from start to finish. We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened and were seating immediately, with Ady as our server. Ady was phenomenal--very attentive, kind, and helpful with the menu and suggestions. She told us her favorite entree and drinks without us having to ask, and she checked on us often throughout our meal. Every drink we had was delicious! I had the prickly pear margarita and I loved it. For food, I had the sopes de chicharrón en salsa verde and it was wonderful. The flavors were soooo good, and the portion size was actually perfect. It was my friend's birthday so they gave us a complimentary tres leches which had a citrus-y infusion in it. Again, delicious! The ambiance was awesome. The decor was modern yet homey, and they had some bomb Latin hits playing the whole time. After reading reviews, and viewing their menu here on Yelp ; I decided I wanted to come here for Valentine's Day. I was super excited because I had an idea of what I would want to eat. I then got here to find a very SMALL menu that honestly disappointed me. The menu included a very small selection of overpriced meals, appetizers and drinks ( which I think is false advertisement). I would have never came if I would have known what was going to be offered here. We ordered a guacamole and chicharrones which were good, but a small amount for $24 worth. We also got the wagyu burger which was really good and the birria Torta which wasn't. The birria torta was very soggy once it got to the table, the bottom bread was leaking into my hands every time I took a bite. The birria also did not have any flavor. On the bright side, we had live music and our waiter was nice. But I would NOT recommend this place, at least on a holiday. read more

Been really looking forward to this place and was just saddened by our experience. Honestly and unfortunately one of the worst experiences I've had. We legit sat down and thought it was going to be amazing as the ambience is cool w/ great music artwork and all around feel. Then my buddy saw the Chapulines on the menu and was crazy pumped as that's apart of his culture back home so the hype kept building. They arrived (roasted grasshoppers if you didn't know) and he said they were pretty good. Then our drinks and food showed up. Drinks were watered down and not very flavorful and some were made wrong entirely. My wife can't do tequila so ordered a mojito with rum and it came with tequila and then when my wife asked for it to be repaid was told it was made correctly the first time. When it was remade it just tasted like lime water. I ordered their rendition of an old fashion Lost Treasure which tasted watery it had a cool presentation but for the price just not worth it. The only drink that was acceptable was the Canta y no Llores but of the 4 we ordered only 1 being worth it just continued to be on par for the course. Empanadas came and both styles we tried we just bland. Truly truly hope we just for some had the biggest off night experience ever from them but it was just unavoidably bad as it was in almost every aspect of our time read more

We tried this place a month ago and it was so good we came back for my birthday. This time the service was so bad, the worst service I've experienced at a restaurant probably ever. We had to get up and ask for things several times because our waitress was nowhere to be found. The restaurant was not that busy and they did not appear to be understaffed. My birthday dinner turned into a birthday disappointment. Wish I chose a better place and am embarrassed that I talked this place up to our friends. The food is good, but we all agreed we will not come back or recommend to anyone. read more

I was visiting Phoenix when I had a hankering for Mexican cuisine. I hopped on Yelp and found this place right away. The pics of the place looked colorful, vibrant, and lively. The food rocked my tastebuds, and Illegal Wagyu Burger was DEF worth a jail sentence! My mom loved the Japa-Mex fusion cuisine! Our server, Adi, was kind and attentive, and very knowledgeable about Miel's menu and gave us recommendations about what to do in Phoenix. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I usually like to write glowing posts on my restaurant experiences, this restaurant was just "fine." $19 for a jalapeño margarita is a bit steep, but maybe that's downtown Phoenix for you. I had the beef quesobirras (sp?), the beef was tender and juicy with a unique and pleasurable hint of cinnamon. Oh, this was the first time I've had grasshoppers (it has a fancier Spanish name for it) as food! Did you know they're full of protein?! It was a great crunchy topping to the the guacamole. The staff was attentive and kind. Our server was adorable when he was explaining a certain style of Latin dance, apologies for not catching the specific name. But apparently it's a romantic one and this place hosts and dance night one night out of the week. read more

However, my date ended up in the private lot directly behind the building and that was a $33 charge for 3 hours! Just a heads-up to think about about parking options ahead. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.

This was my first time here and we were seated almost immediately. That was nice. If you decide to try it out, go around 7:30 wasn't packed. Our hostess was very sweet but attentiveness was not a strong suit. Our overall experience would be zero stars for the restaurant and how it's managed, if it were possible. 1. Our drink order was taken 10 min after being seated. It took a very long time to get any drink to the table this is water included. Unfortunately, we never received a few of the signature drinks that were ordered. Those drink are $20-$25. Also if you get beer there is an additional $2 charge. They couldn't explain that charge to us. Weird. 2. Food came out, not cold but not warm. Trying to not be harsh but not what was expected for $175 dish. The meat had very little flavor. The bone had little to no marrow. Also was missing food that was ordered. 3. There was one dish that was really nasty and it was El Aguachile. It was only agua, and I'm trying to be polite as possible. We asked for something else instead. 4. Bacon wrapped pepper shrimp poppers were good. 5. The manager was walking around and was asking how our experience was and my niece said horrible before his attention was directed to someone walking by. So when he turned back she brushed it off and looked the other way. 6. Manager made the hostess (don't like the word server ) bribe us with free desert if we left a yelp. So we said wonderful, a bill that is over $1200 with missing drinks and food, it should come with desert. 7. We made our reservation at 7:30. It took them til 11:45 to give us our check. No we weren't just sitting having a good time. At one point the employees came up to us letting us know that after 11:30 every single person in the restaurant will be getting a charge of $25 for a band that they had playing that night. Once we got the hostess attention she pushed back, now making our experience in perspective of her least satisfactory. She answered me, and I quote "let me provide bottle service to the table behind you because they're getting antsy and I'll come right over". They had just arrived, and I'm not kidding, 5-7 minutes before asking for the check, which was very disappointing to get that response from her. Still didn't see her and the band had started playing. We were asked to move from the table for another party and to avoid the $25 charge. Once we all pull out our payment methods they declined one of us for having $300 cash. At this point I thought we were being Punk'd, but Ashton Kutcher never came out. This is a very new restaurant and we did highly consider that. But we are NEVER go back. This restaurant was, at best, an average experience. Given that Miel De Agave markets itself as a refined, upscale, date-night destination, I walked in expecting a warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, the ambiance fell noticeably short. While the concept suggests something intimate and sophisticated, the dining room felt underwhelming and lacked the charm and attention to detail you would expect from a restaurant charging premium prices. It simply did not deliver the elevated environment it presents itself to be. The service was also disappointing. Our server was prompt in introducing themselves, but beyond that initial interaction, there was little effort made to enhance the dining experience. There was no thoughtful engagement, no meaningful recommendations, and no sense of attentiveness that typically accompanies fine dining. At this price point, you expect service that complements and elevates the meal -- not just basic table maintenance. As for the food, it was adequate but far from memorable. We ordered the ribeye steak with lobster, hoping for a standout dish. While it was prepared competently, it lacked the depth of flavor and refinement that would make it worth returning for. The hostess was condescending and rude, speaking to us in a way that felt dismissive and unnecessarily forceful regarding our reservation. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or offer any hospitality, she escalated it to the point where our reservation was canceled altogether. The weather delay day from hell led us here (along with a favorable Yelp review). 5 hour delay from Seattle, diverted to CA and then the dance to get to the rental car terminal was intense . Needless to say, we were drained. Upon arrival, we sat in the bar simply looking for great food and drink. Jorge came to our rescue. Wow, this little hole in the wall is amazing. We had the quesabirria and octopus tacos, which both were to die for. I loved that the octopus had grilled Pineapple and pickled onions, and the consume that came with the Quesabirria was some of the best I've ever had. We started the meal with the empenaditas de huitlacoche which, for the uninitiated, are made with a special corn that has grown a certain fungal growth that is not only hard to find in the US but also a particularly delicious delicacy. The green beans were also tasty, nothing special, but the pistachio butter elevated it (nothing else needed the pistachio butter, not sure what else you use it for).
