Boulder is such a beautiful city and I saw Avanti from the street where it was quite busy and wanted to give this spot a try. From first glance, you could see that there's three floors of which the food court is on the first floor and you could sit on a second or third floor for better views. All the foods looked amazing, but I opted to go to rooted to try the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The ordering process was very quick and the food was made very fast as well. Upon first glance, the chicken looked hand breaded and fried, so it was definitely going to be good. I got the Nashville hot, but it wasn't hot at all. I did not taste any spice. That's OK though because it was very flavorful and delicious. It also had a slaw on top and the bun was very soft. I also love the fry on the french fries as it wasn't too heavy or too light. I would definitely come back and try other foods. It was quite busy for a lunch during a weekday, which is a great sign that it's high-quality. If you want a good rooftop bar with great views, this is the place to go. Came to explore Pearl Street Mall, had recommendations for here. We only came for drinks, so can't vouch for their food. But their drinks were fantastic. Line for the elevator to the top was long, but there's a stairwell to the side that's an easy climb to the top. It was decently packed upstairs, but we were lucky enough to find a small table close to the edge to take in the beautiful view of the mall and mountains beyond. It really is a pretty view. Great drink selection with decent prices. We ordered at the bar - quick and efficient, but they did have servers going around as well. I really loved the ambience in here. We stopped by on a Saturday and it was very lively. The place itself is large and I appreciated that they also had a patio seating. This is a must here in Boulder, whether you are a local or just visiting, you can certainly find food and drinks everyone will enjoy, especially if you're having a hard time deciding what cuisine to get. The seating is spacious and comfortable, suitable for groups of many sizes, we were 9 people and had plenty of space to sit and place our food and drinks. The bar had great specialty cocktails and decent variety of wine and beer. I started with the heat wave which was a delicious tropical mezcal drink then moved to the green oasis which was a fresh gin matcha drink which was good but just a bit artificial for my taste but if you like matcha you will love it. My friends got the basil bloom and flatiron spritz which were both also delicious and for such tasty cocktails, they honestly weren't too expensive ($11-$13). This is the perfect place if you want to make sure everyone in your group is satisfied, and a great environment to hang out, chat and have drinks. Bona Coffee Roasters is the new coffee service on the main floor of Avanti. There has been several flips of providers over the years and I hope this one sticks. I haven't had a drink yet from them but while waiting to get my takeout order from the busy Boychik I had a snack here. The new batch of macarons were nice to see. There haven't been any for a while as the counter provider changed. The staff member had the flavors in memory and when I wanted something without chocolate , he identified the vanilla blackberry cream and it was fresh and delicious. I'll get a drink next time and update then. As I left the counter a group walked in the door and straight to this bar. The prices seem a little high for the amount of food you get (at least where we went) but I'm sure that varies from place to place. Then you can scan the menus and order your food (and pay from your phone) from upstairs or downstairs and they text you once it's done and you go pick it up, easy peasy. Inside the Food Hall, there are many options for you to choose from. Your group can order from different counters and sit together for your meal. I ordered from the Italian food counter. Some of the dishes were hit or miss depending on the seasoning. Some tasted really good and others like the polenta were a little bland. I'll add that there were a few confusing things about the service. For example, when your food was ready and you talked up to the counter, it was hard to tell out of the multiple orders that were ready to be picked up, which one was yours. So I feel like there should be a bit more guidance there. All in all this is a good place to grab a bite to eat with a group that has different tastes but I wouldn't be prepared to be blown away by the meals. read more

We ate here on Black Friday. The reason we picked this place was because we wanted to try "Pollo Tico" with our Costa Rican friend. We got two orders of "half chicken" that came with "gallo pinto". And two orders of "Arroz con pollo". Everything was delicious and our Tica friend said that it tasted really authentic. It wasn't super cheap, considering that it's more of a food court place, but it wasn't outrageous either ($88 total). The music was an added bonus. I love these food court style places!! Avanti is the second one I've ever been to and I honestly didn't even know it existed until my sister suggested it. The building is right on Pearl street and is one of those places that has an option for more or less any type of craving. There are tons of tables scattered around the central area of Avanti and each table has a QR code you can scan to view menus and order food right from the table; payment is handled through your phone as well, so the whole process is quick, easy, and you don't have to stand in any lines of you don't want to! Super awesome way to run things, in my opinion. There are quite a few options... pizza, Italian, Thaiwanese, American, and Costa Rican. I ended up ordering chicken patacon from Pollo Tico, which I learned through reading other Yelp reviews is the brain child of a previous Top Chef contestant and my sister decided on a falafel plate from the nearby BoyChik. Prices are pretty reasonable for what we got and it only took five or 10 minutes before we were notified that our food was ready for pickup. My plate was very unique looking; I'm a big fan of plantains and was excited to give this a try! I didn't manage to snap a photo of my sister's, unfortunately, but believe me when I say it looked *chef's kiss.* First impression was that the flavors were an explosion, but the plantain was a little tough to cut through with the cutlery I had, so getting this down took a little more effort than I was expecting. The concept is honestly super cool, though, so I think deconstructing it a little on your plate would help if you run into the same issue. Sister's hummus was so bomb (I snuck a taste) and she was happy with the rest of her plate as well. We stopped by the little on site coffee/pastry shop on our way out to grab a cookie to share. Since we came in a little bit later in the day - I'd say late lunch around 2 - there weren't as many options available, so if you're specifically looking for a sweet treat, earlier might be better!
