These might be the best donuts I've ever had! Tons of options. Taste fresh and delicious. The cream filled maple bacon eclair is out of this world. The cream filled chocolate eclair is rich and decadent. The donut holes are huge, sweet, yeasty and perfectly fried. Went two days in a row, they were that good! We found Mighty Fine Donuts while searching for coffee shops on Yelp. Since Yelpers can be pretty critical, we were impressed to see so many glowing reviews and a solid 4-star rating -- so we hopped in the car to check it out. The case was full of tempting choices, and everything looked amazing. The maple cream donut was absolute heaven -- the glaze had just the right touch of maple to balance the thick, tender dough. The edges were perfectly crispy, and the texture was unlike any donut I've ever had. The glazed twist was equally delicious. The coffee was very good, though a little too hot to enjoy right away. The only real downside was the lack of seating -- no tables or chairs inside, despite the large open lobby, and no benches outside either. We ended up eating in the car. That said, the donuts were so good we went back in for more. Definitely worth the stop! It was so good, we brought friends with us the following morning because donuts this good need to be shared with friends. And best of all...maybe prices were insanely cheap!!! People were lining up to get their morning orders in. Great service and a classic feel that we certainly love. I really like the cream that is not too sweet. It's not overpowering which I love. I have to admit. I don't feel good about only giving three stars to Mighty Fine. I am a fan of any neighborhood favorite business that has been around for generations. I am impressed by businesses that stay largely unchanged for decades, still able to bring people in with the same solid business plan. Mighty Fine must be doing something good for its customers and I'm happy for that - but I would not recommend driving out of your way off the highway to make a stop here if you're hunting for amazing donuts. The bad: The inside of the business looked a bit worn out and neglected, the automatic cappuccino machine in the corner looked like something you'd find in a gas station. There was no place to sit and enjoy your donuts in the business, just a big empty space that looked like it had tables and chairs at one point, or perhaps that empty space is needed to host the morning rush indoors when it's frigid outside... The actual donuts we got were just nothing special (I know, it was 3pm - but one test of a good donut is how it tastes when it's more than two hours old). We got a regular glazed, cherry cake (best of the three we got), and chocolate cake. I would rank most donut chains to have better donuts at 3pm. The good: There was a line of about 8 people at 3pm (which was a good sign!) and the employee behind the counter was very patient and helpful for one particular customer who took over 5 minutes to make a selection. read more

I love their powdered fry cake. There's a ton of powdery sugar goodness that gets all over your clothes and car if you're not careful (this might've been my situation during our car ride home lol), but it's definitely worth it. I made a special detour at 6:30 am to get breakfast and I knew I was in the right place when I saw people standing in line to order that early in the morning. The interior is like a 70s time capsule- including a majestic velvet painting of a ship- and I am here for it!! I got a 1/2 dozen including blueberry & apple fritters, maple bacon, a twist, and a cream filled chocolate round and eclair. Holy smokes, they were all perfect: flavor, texture, portion, everything. So we were in town for a couple of days and looking for a quick on the go breakfast so we checked this place out. So glad we did! Old school donut shop in every sense of the word, including pricing! We got a 1/2 dozen donuts, two large coffees and 2 bagels and it was under $9! And the donuts, ohhh the donuts. Soooo good. Light, fresh and so flavorful. I was in Erie last week for work and needed a quick breakfast so I settled on the unhealthiest thing I could find, donuts! I came here around 9AM and the place was pretty packed (everyone need donuts on Wednesday, I get it). I waited in line a bit which gave me the freedom to stare at all of the different kinds of donuts they had which kind of overwhelmed my stomach. When I finally got to the front I settled on a sprinkle donut and a chocolate pinwheel (basically just a donut with chocolate on top and on the Inside). What blew me away was that these donuts both same to around $3.50 total and that is magnificent. The Donuts themselves were above average and left me full for a few hours but the main reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is for the massive selection and the incredible prices. I wish we had stopped to take a picture, but I don't even think they made it out of the car! The donuts we had from Mighty Fine definitely lived up to their name. We had a coconut cake donut, one filled with yellow custard , a glazed puffy one (what's that kind called?), a cinnamon one and two others we inhaled before we even knew their names. They were delicious! We got there at just the right time because there was no line, but by the time we finished deciding what to get a small line had begun to form. The folks working there were friendly and patient, and seemed welcoming of our oohing and aahhing. The location was easy to find and free on street parking was ample. Went to buy some donuts today and when I ordered the girl reached for a bag to put them in. I asked to have the donuts put in a box and she said that will be an additional 50 cents for the box. .Seriously you don't already have the cost of the box factored into the price of the donuts? How would chocolate frosted cream filled donuts or any type like that not get ruined in a bag? What a mess it would be. I decided I didn't need them since they would be all squished anyway and just left. I hope the new owners don't continue to charge an additional fee to have your donuts in a box. What's next? The location is far from fancy but the kind of place that I would expect a great fried pastry and cup of coffee. The workers were super pleasant even though they were busy.
