summary: a new casual BBQ spot with the standard options found at an American BBQ spot. I think it's intended to be similar to like a Mission BBQ, with a slightly elevated vibe to it. At the time of this review, I think the spot's been open for a couple of months now. I felt like the service team was still trying to figure out their system and going through the growing pains. The food was ok. The pricing was reasonable for this type of food, but I thought the cook/flavor was not too memorable. I ordered some wings and they came out pretty dry/overdone. They do have some sauces at the tables and they had decent flavor/kick. I also had some BBQ shared amongst the table and I thought it was okay. The timing of the orders was kind of all over the place, where some things are available immediately and some they took some time to plate. Overall: expensive, fast casual bbq, good variety on the menu, food was okay, single stall inclusive restrooms, changing table but no high chairs, cute ambiance and decor The servers were nice and the ambiance was cute and clean. There are only two fast casual spots right there by Colorburst and neither of them have high chairs which is a huge short sight. I never understand why bbq restaurants are priced so high. The food was just okay. Some things were ready right away and others needed to come out later. The chicken was dry, the Mac and cheese was thick and not balanced, and the cornbread was too sweet for my liking. The brisket, pork, fries, and sauces were okay but nothing I enjoyed enough to return for. I was excited about their menu and the variety of sides, but the meals are set up so you can only pick one and then you get cornbread or a drink. I wish you could pick any two sides because i didn't want cornbread or a drink and I can't eat cabbage, so the slaw it came with went to waste. read more

As an amateur BBQ aficionado, I couldn't pass up this new BBQ outpost located in the Merriweather District which is right across the street from Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. I knew I was going to have a great meal when I was greeted by the sweet aroma of smoked wood. I had the opportunity to try a little bit of everything, which was delicious but the entree that slapped me silly was the Dirty Fries. It was the perfect one dish meal that combined a nice helping of fries and pulled pork that that was lovingly coated with their signature BBQ sauce. The sausage was flavorful, the pork was tender, & beans tasty!! STAMP!! Their 2 Meat Sampler ($21.90 for a sample of their bbq pork ribs, chipotle bbq chicken, cornbread, Brussel sprouts, pickled veggies, & a beverage). Look here...STAMP this whole platter!! Well prepared ribs, mildly spicy chicken, fluffy cornbread, & perfectly flash fried sprouts!! STAMP!! 4.23.26 Hubby and I stopped in for dinner around 5:15 PM on a Thursday. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich combo with a fountain soda and beans, plus a two-meat sampler (ribs and brisket) with mac & cheese and cornbread. Each entrée can be made a combo, which includes a side and either a fountain drink or cornbread. Orders are placed at the counter. One critique: the lighting made the menus difficult to read--there's a noticeable glare. Repositioning the fixtures would make a big difference. The staff member we interacted with was very friendly and shared that they waited four years to open, which is commendable. The highlights for me were the ribs and mac & cheese. My husband preferred the beans and the pulled pork sandwich. That said, we both found the brisket and cornbread to be dry, and the coleslaw a bit plain. I also would have preferred the food to be served hotter--it was closer to room temperature on my tray, though my husband's beans stayed piping hot in their container. Overall, we found the food to be average for the price. We'd likely choose Mission BBQ or Famous Dave's next time. Mighty Quinn's BBQ is a clean, newly opened spot that's nice to have in the area, but I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. The space itself is modern and tidy, though seating is pretty limited, so it might not be the best place if you're planning to dine in during peak hours. We tried a few items and overall the food was just meh. The brisket was pretty tough and dry, so I'd skip that next time. The pork ribs were okay; the chipotle chicken was actually the best of them all. Service was fine& fast which I appreciated. No beers / drinks available yet. Mighty Quinn's is in a great location. It is a corner restaurant with bright windows and great interiors. The food; simply put, very mediocre. The ribs were dry and had no flavor. The brisket was hard! The broccoli salad was decent but not the dry corn bread or the overcooked Mac n Cheese. The coleslaw was weak. Staff is still being trained and the beer menu is not available. The manager replaced the brisket which I appreciated. I expected a lot of this place, considering it has done so well in several locations in NYC. Sadly, not this Columbia location. Red Hot N Blue and Glenwoods is where I will continue to head to for decent ribs. read more

We had the pleasure of trying the brisket, which was incredibly tender and full of flavor. We also got the burnt ends and beans, mac & cheese, and fries--everything was excellent. For a soft opening, I was really impressed; they usually still have some kinks to work out, but the food was spot-on. I'm so happy a solid barbecue spot has finally come to the area. The place was clean, everything was properly prepared, and the staff was super friendly and efficient. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Went here for a birthday dinner and it was a let down, would recommend just going somewhere else. Portions were small for how expensive it is. Brisket was dry and didn't have much flavor. Food is delicious and portion size are good for what you pay for. The owner and the two young ladies are very personalable. Their service is great!Thank God we still have parents that are training their kids to be respectful and polite. I went there 2 days in a row and the service was the same.
