I spotted Miguel's while strolling by the night before; and I liked the look immediately. So when we broke for lunch in Moab to run an errand, I suggested it as our lunch spot. Great vibe and use of space here. It looks like they filled in the gap between two buildings to create a long, indoor/outdoor area with plenty of indirect, natural light. Nice use of colors too. The kitchen and bathrooms were in a raised, add-on space in the back. Overall vibe felt like an escape - quiet, secluded, yet festive. (A Tecate with a lime & salt called out to me immediately.) Service was quite slow and a little harried; but it was still pretty friendly. I'm guessing they were low on staff; but I don't know if it was just that particular day or a trend. Also, even though it was after the lunch hour, we arrived at the same time as a few others. In the end, our meal took a bit longer than planned. We had more hiking to do, and I didn't want to stuff myself on a hot day, so after ordering that Tecate I opted for a 1/2 portion of the M.O.A.B. (mother of all burritos), ordered wet. I was glad I did, since what I received was still surprisingly large. The delicious, homemade mole sauce on top was enough to make me finish every last bite. Yum! (Note: I saw a full MOAB float by on a tray; I think it is now the biggest burrito I have ever seen!). I recommended Miguel's to get your Mex on in Moab, but maybe try to go here at less-busy times, just in case. read more

Complimentary chips and salsa were tasty - the salsa had a bit of a kick which was nice (probably my favorite part of the meal). The shrimp quesadilla was huge. Shrimp was pretty tasty, but the tortilla was not particularly crispy. It was a solid meal but nothing to write home about. The burrito was a bit disappointing - there was a good amount of meat and portion size was great, however the flavor was lacking. Overall we had high hopes as a couple people in town had high words of praise, but we found ourselves a bit disappointed. After a day of driving and hiking, we were ravenous and wanted Mexican. Miguel's had good reviews, was close, open, could seat us right away, and serves alcohol! We sat on the covered patio under a heater - choice! Salsa is spicy. Guacamole is tomato-y. Margaritas are tequila-y. Fajitas were yummy. They come served on a plate, not the sizzle platter. Chicken is tasty and tender. My friend had the veggie enchilada and cleaned her plate. I'd definitely try an enchilada if I were to dine here again. My only regret is not having room to finish my meal or to stuff in dessert. The coconut flan and churro sundae sounded delicious. read more

After getting ignored at TWO other local restaurants we stumbled upon Miguels. First of all, the decor is adorable, and they have an indoor-outdoor patio upfront, and we were able to sit at a beautiful little table under the stars. Next, the food was absolutely incredible! My daughter had the Chile Relleno with steak (I had more than a few bites) and even the rice and beans were amazing. I ordered the lime and tequila scallops. Usually I am hesitant to order seafood in a Mexican food restaurant, but this was a top-notch and incredibly high-quality dish. Finally, the service was extraordinary. Our server, Nicholas, was so friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We stopped in about an hour before they closed and were immediately greeted with some of the most glorious chips and salsa I've ever had. My husband and I each had a margarita, both very well done, and then the AMAZING entrees... I ordered a "lite" (it was still massive haha) MOAB burrito with lamb and mole. Oh. My. Gosh. I'm not exaggerating, but this was some of the best mole I've ever had - we've been throughout Cali, Mexico, Mexico City, the southwest US, etc and always try a mole (I'm obsessed) dish on the menu. This was incredible - the wonderful mixture of earthy, sweet, chocolately, savory... Wow. Just wow. And the lamb was cooked perfectly - So tender, so flavorful. The side salad was a very nice addition with a variety of fruits and veggies accompanied by a homemade cilantro lime dressing (order this dressing, it's out of this world)! Insane. My husband ordered the Baja fish tacos and... Wow. The fish were cooked perfectly with JUST the right amount of batter. The shells were perfectly crisp, the sauce was a wonderful creamy Chipotle mixture, and the cabbage was a perfect amount of crunch. These were accompanied by wonderful beans and rice sides. I love this place! The people are so friendly and nice. It has a festive atmosphere and a happy vibe. My wife said that sitting on the patio made her feel like we were at Cancun. This is a quaint joint on the main street area of Moab. The food was delicious and probably more traditional Mexican than you would be used to seeing. Fantastic to walk out of a Mexican restaurant without your clothes smelling like you've been to a Mexican restaurant. Meal starts with salsa and chips. Ordered taco's for myself and the were great. We ordered guac and it was a little bland, nothing a little salt couldn't fix. The tacos come with just the protein filling and you add items which depend on the type of meat you get. Sour cream is available on request and I'd assume cheese as well. The place is really small, only seating about 75. The problem is that when you get on the list, they assign you a table and you have to wait for that to be vacated. You don't get the next available table. One couple ahead of us had been told a 10 minute wait and after 30 minutes (around 7 pm) they left. So, if there's a line, be kind and don't linger at your table. Also, due to Utah liquor laws, no alcohol until you are seated. Don't blame them. Plenty of Gluten free options available. read more

Man, Yelp really steered me wrong on this one. Blandest Mexican food I've ever eaten. Baja Margarita? Meh. Carne Asada tacos? Flavorless. Guacamole? Nada. Very disappointing. I'll note that the waitstaff were WONDERFUL, and my waitress answered all my questions about my gluten allergy without needing to consult the kitchen. I felt I was in good hands. She also got me some Tajin from the kitchen to punch up the guac a bit. I'm hoping I somehow caught them on an off night, because the rest of Yelp seems to approve. Gluten free menu items were clearly labeled. The fajitas weren't your standard sizzling plate with a bunch of sides, but they were flavorful, delicious and covered in cheese. Mmmm! Best place we ate in Moab over our 3 day stay! A bit pricey, but no different than any other place in town. Margaritas were excellent and strong. Ceviche was fresh and tasted wonderful. Loved the salsa with the chips. For main dishes, we had mixed fajitas and baja fish tacos with mahi. Both were excellent! It's a small place and I'm sure could be a wait at busy dinner time rush. Our party of 6 was seated quickly, despite two other 6-tops with only 2 people. Restaurant was NOT AIR CONDITIONED!!! It was 108 F outside and I was going to be paying $100+ for a meal, and there was no AC. Worse, we were seated in the kitchen, which was even hotter. This AC issue needs to be resolved -- quickly. The menu looked like the same 5 ingredients, put on a different starch (taco shell, corn tortilla, flour tortilla, etcetera) -- so, not much variety. "Bean of the day" is deceptive -- I was told "pinto beans", but received standard refried beans. All the food tasted good -- all 6 of us were happy with our meals. I got the MOAB Burrito with steak -- there was a lot of fat and gristle in my steak -- someone should have trimmed the fat and gristle first. Final bill was $150 for six people. We were all trying to be frugal. We all had water to drink -- no sodas, no alcohol, and no air conditioning. $150. Ouch. The food was good, but not THAT good. read more

We originally planned to go to a different Mexican restaurant in town, but came here when we found out the other restaurant did not serve alcohol (no margaritas?!). Anyways, we were so glad we did because it was a fantastic dining experience. All of the food was so fresh and full of flavor. They had a lot fun options including seafood and vegetarian dishes, but they also served up the classics as well. Our dishes were packed with flavorful peppers and fresh vegetables. We also had the guacamole and the MOAB. Everything was so delicious. The service was exceptional. The margaritas were petite but just right for the amount of tequila that you get. Billed as the best margaritas in town and I could believe it! As someone who's only lived in CA and TX, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to margs (and baja style Mexican food) and this place was great all around. The margaritas are all on the rocks and standard (lime) flavor but made without mixes. The only difference is the kind of tequila you order in it. My 2 margs were great (though could have used more salt on the rim) and are indeed likely the best in Moab. The shrimp MOAB (Mother Of All Burritos) was huge, smothered in a tasty and tangy green sauce, and stuffed with rice, beans, cheese, and a whole bunch of nice shrimp. The steak platter with pork enchilada and chicken flautas came with all the sides and fixins as well, making it a huge and awesome plate. The steak was grilled to perfection and the enchilada was scrumptious. The flautas were only OK, but dipped in sour cream and guac, they were pretty solid too! read more

The service was slow, but they give you chips and salsa in the mean time. Expect to wait about 20 minutes or so. The first thing that surprised me was that for a large salad, the portion size was quite small. Not filling for one person, and probably better suited for an appetizer than an entree. The dressing was pretty amazing though. Never had mango miso dressing, but it was tasty and not too heavy. The vegetables were fresh, and the jicama was crunchy. It just looked and felt haphazardly put together though, and tossing the salad was a bit of a chore. Wouldn't recommend this place for the salad, unfortunately. Came here on a busy Thursday evening with a party of five. The wait was around 45 minutes, which seemed ok, until we realized there were absolutely no other good options in the area. Walked next door for a drink and some spinach dip as we waited for our table at Miguel's, and we were seated on time at a table near the door. The service was and welcoming, starting with the host until the server. We ordered some veggie tacos, chicken tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas. All were delicious and flavorful, although the portions were quite large, but definitely doable if we didn't have our snacks beforehand. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY EATING HERE! My friends and I came to this location as the reviews were excellent so we gave it a try. Decor was cute, parking first come first serve basis (street parking), and we had to wait 20 mins to be seated but outside mind it was 40 F but understandable due to Covid. We were a group of 5 very hungry as we were hiking all day at Arches National Park. We started off with Nopolo Style Ceviche (no comments as I think they don't know what a ceviche is and it definitely isn't a lot of lime juice mix with cilantro and raw fish mix together), Chips with Salsa (it was okay) and a must at every Mexican restaurant, Guacamole with Chips (Terrible! It was more of a Tomatoes with avocado plus I had to order lime salt and cilantro to sort of make it edible). For our entrees, Shrimp Quesadilla (it was more of tomatoes than shrimp and wasn't properly made as everything was falling apart on the plate), Steak Fajitas (more veggies than steak plus there was a hair in the dish, disgusting!), 2 M.O.A.B's with Steak (one of us decided to share one as picture showed it was shareable, think it again as they tend to put the protein on only one side of the burrito so technically my other friend was just eating rice beans and veggies) Service was as terrible as the food. I don't eat meat, so I loved that there were several portobello mushroom options via tacos, fajitas, and even a salad. They also offered a veggie enchilada, so if you're vegetarian you shouldn't have a problem finding something to eat. The whole vibe in the place is cool and the service was great.
