Futomaki Roll
Cindy N.

A great option for vegetarian or vegan folks especially since there is a lot of options. The service was quick so, highly recommend it if you want fast service at an affordable price. I've only tried their futomaki roll and everything tasted quite fresh. The size is a reasonable amount for what you pay for.

Super thin sashimi slices. Horrible. Is this even really tuna?

Don't come here! Absolutely worst sushi place in Toronto. It's a disgrace to sushi. I dropped some serious money on a party platter (most expensive item on their menu) only to look at it and wonder where the sashimi is. It's so small that they made a rose out of it. Just look at how thin and see through the sashimi is. It's sad. Sashimi shouldn't be this thin as you can't even taste and get the texture of biting through. I have one big question, how has everyone voted this at 4 stars??

This is now my go-to sushi place. The place has a good variety, not super expensive, and quick service. They seem to have a good amount of customer turnover so the food seems quite fresh. It's takeout only and during covid they are pretty good with low contact service. They have a table at their front door so no one goes in, rather they take your order at the door behind the table. I recommend to just place your order over the phone and pick up. So far I've tried a few of their dragon rolls, salmon sashimi, and some of their sushi rolls like spicy salmon and bbq eel. They don't over stuff the rice or over sauce the rolls. The size is also decent and fish amount is good. Highly recommend them. Posting pictures of their menu because some of the other menu postings are a bit outdated and prices are different.

Red dragon maki, spicy salmon maki and salmon sushi - $12.99 for everything!

I was a little hesitant to try this place since it was in a random Plaza and looked a little run down... But after I read the Yelp reviews I decided to give it a shot. Man am I glad I did! I stopped by this afternoon - they have a delicious selection of pre-made take out sushi for extremely cheap and they also have a sit-in option. I opted for the sit in lunch special - red dragon roll, salmon sushi and California roll, but decided to swap out the California roll for a spicy salmon and they did that for no charge. The special came with miso soup and salad and you had the option to add on a bubble tea for an extra $3. Overall for $12.99 you get a generous amount of sushi, that's surprisingly high quality and delicious! A lot of the takeout options were very cheap ($4.99 for spicy salmon rolls) which I'll definitely be trying next time! Definitely recommend that you're in the area! 5/5 for taste, quality and price!

Me and my wife have been here twice and both times we really enjoyed the rolls. We are both vegetarians and ordered off the vegan menu. Try getting the combos where you get miso soup, salad, a premium roll , avocado roll, and cucumber. The edamame was great too. I personally wasn't super fond of the glass rolls but overall for the price I would definitely go here anytime. Five stars!

This place is so worth your money. Their portion is very generous for its price. It's my go to sushi roll spot. I would only recommend their rolls and not raw sushi. Their raw sushi is not the best quality but their rolls are amazing. All the ones I tried are great. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quick sushi dinner.

I've been here quite a few times for take out. It's a great place to pick up good sushi at a good price. It's a small place that's tucked inside the plaza at Warden & Sheppard. It does have two small tables if you do decide you want to dine in. They have an open cooler with daily pre-made sushi if you don't feel like ordering off the menu. The pre-made sushi goes on sale at the end of the day for 20% off. They also have decent bubble tea there. You can tack it onto certain combo's for an additional $3. If you do order a combo, it comes with a salad and you can choose either a miso soup or a pop. The service here is always incredibly friendly and quick. They've always accomodated any special requests I've made with ease. This last visit, I ordered various combo's and trays of the following: spicy salmon rolls, california rolls, unagi roll, salmon avocado rolls, black dragon roll, green dragon roll, dynamite rolls, mango roll, rainbow roll, salmon nigiri, salmon sashimi, green salads, wakame salad, miso soups, and a few bubble teas. The rolls and sashimi were all really tasty. All the ingredients were fresh and well rolled. Everyone also enjoyed their respective bubble teas. One thing to note, their green salad comes with Italian dressing and not your typical minced japanese dressing. I also found their Italian dressing to be sweet as well. This didn't bother me at all but some of my friends didn't prefer it. Good sushi at really good prices. I definitely recommend this place and look forward to going back.

Never really busy on evenings, they have 20% off their daily sushi before they close. Pros: - Well priced - Good service - Parking Cons: - You never know what to expect with the sushi. Sometimes it has a ton of salt, sometimes it's bland but when they get it right it's great.

Red dragon roll tray

Upon reading the positive reviews, we have decided to drop by and pick up a sushi tray or two for a night in. This is a small place, so don't expect a super extensive menu. We ordered the roll tray special which came with 4 rolls of choice and paid around $15. Although basic, but the quality is decent, and the price simply cannot be beat ! Much better value than what you'd get at MAC sushi / other chained sushi places

If your craving for Japanese food, this place is a hidden gem full of yummy maki and sashimi, can't go wrong in stretching your money that will fill your tummy!

jumbo party tray. 120 pcs $95.

Nice little hidden gem in Scarborough for those craving an affordable sushi fix. We ordered a jumbo party tray (120 pcs for $95) for 5 people and it fed us for nearly two meals. The price was incredible for the quality. Keep in mind this is no high end sushi joint so the quality will be lacking a bit but nonetheless it was delicious. All their maki was HUGE, literally need to take two bites to eat it. The sashimi and sushi was cut nicely and generously portioned. Try to call ahead of time as they do get super busy. We waited an hour-ish on Friday for our tray. We did call in prior but they were rammed. Their ready made sushi is 30% off after 7pm - an incredible deal! Dine-in option is super limited as they only have two tables with two chairs each and a small bar table that seats 3. A lovely couple runs this business with limited English but are super friendly and full of smiles. Would definitely recommend them!

3.99 large taro bubble tea

This place has really affordable sushi and excellent quality for the price! Love how they have end of the day specials, and they give you a great discount on sushi. Their bubble tea is awesome! I got a Large Taro bubble milk tea for $3.99 which is really affordable. This will continue to be my go-to bubble tea / take-out sushi place.

Spicy salmon , lacked mayo

3.5 Good for it's value but if you're looking for authentic sushi, better look elsewhere. Definitely good value though, I can't stress that. If you're big on North American sushi , such as the rolls , then definitely the place for you here It is also good for catering if you're planning to bring to a potluck.

I recently visited this restaurant for an early lunch and found the experience to be a mix of…read morepositives and notable drawbacks. The establishment has a casual dine-in setup, offering a relaxed atmosphere suitable for a quick meal or a short break during the day. Despite being a dine-in restaurant, all food is served in takeout boxes, which, while convenient for those on the go, slightly diminishes the overall dining experience for those choosing to eat on the premises. The food quality itself was acceptable. Reasonably portioned, adequately seasoned, and prepared in a timely manner. While it may not stand out as exceptional, it fulfills the expectations for a casual meal. However, the main issue that significantly impacted my experience was the cleanliness of the tables. The first table I sat at had a noticeably sticky surface, which immediately raised concerns about hygiene and maintenance. Assuming it was an isolated case, I moved to a second table, only to encounter the same problem. A third attempt produced similar results, suggesting that this is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring issue throughout the dining area. A sticky table surface not only detracts from comfort but also gives the impression that cleaning practices are not being properly observed between guests. This, unfortunately, overshadowed what could have been a satisfactory meal. In summary, while the restaurant offers decent food at a fair value, the overall dining environment requires improvement, particularly in the table cleanliness and food presentation. Until this concern is addressed, I would recommend opting for takeout instead of dining in, as the food quality is adequate, but the in-house dining conditions fall short of acceptable standards.

I opted for their summerlicious menu which was $55 and included a starter, main and dessert. Their menu choices were very appealing for m price. The starters and the mains were both good. It's not super premium quality but for the price, I'd say it hit the spot of a mid tier sushi spot. The cod was flaky and the scallops were cooked well. I overall enjoyed everything up until the dessert. The desserts were the weakest link of the entire dinner. The cheesecake was a little dry and the mochi didn't seem super fresh. It was all edible but just not amazing. The service was good, staff were attentive and food came out fairly quick. The design of the place is really nice as well. Not a first option I'd jump for but not a bad spot.

On Sunday, I got together with two friends for lunch at Hana Don. Markham has a location that I have yet to visit. My friends come to this one at CF Fairview Mall often and recommended that we come here. I booked a reservation for three at 12:30 pm online. It was easy. I drove over to this mall, which has changed a lot. There are more eateries that face Sheppard Avenue East and are connected to the mall, but you don't have direct access to it. The Moxie's is still there. I didn't recognize the others. Parking was challenging. This mall was busy. I ended up finding a spot close to the former Hudson's Bay store. I then walked over. I entered the eatery and a man greeted me. I let him know that I had a reservation under my name. He found it and guided me to a table in the corner of the eatery. My friend walked in and saw me through the window. They came over and we chatted while figuring out what we wanted to eat. We got these items: - Chicken katsu udon - Yuzu matcha soda (me) - Sirloin set (me) - Chicken teriyaki set - Dynamite roll One of my friends had udon for the first time. It was in broth. The chicken katsu came on a separate plate. I had a piece and it was tasty. She loved her meal. The udon was chewy. It looked good. My other friend was recovering from a cold, so we kept things safe by not sharing anything with him. He got the chicken teriyaki set and ate everything up. He ordered a dynamite roll and we had his California roll that came with his meal. I was pleased that his appetite was in good shape. She and I shared the California roll. It was delicious. It had imitation crab and avocado. This place was generous with ingredients in this roll. It was fresh and satisfying. I got the yuzu matcha soda. It was heavenly. I stirred it up before I drank it. It had the perfect balance of citrusy, sweet yuzu with good matcha and fizz. So refreshing! I loved my sirloin set. The sirloin steak don was exceptionally filling. The steak morsels were flavourful and perfectly cooked. It came with a lot of rice that was perfectly steamed. This set came with sashimi mori. I loved the salmon, but the smoked fish wasn't the best. The veggie tempura was excellent. The eggplant, sweet potato, and squash weren't greasy. They were crispy and yummy. The amazuzuke was excellent. I got white radish cubes that were pickled in what tasted like yuzu. Each cube cleansed my palate. I need to make some at home! The miso soup was excellent. I loved the cubed tofu. The salad was okay. The dressing tasted bland compared to everything else. It needed more miso or something. The sets were a great deal. The quality was superb. They are available every day between 11 am and 4 pm. We were too stuffed to get any dessert. The ube tiramisu intrigued me. I'll need to find room to enjoy it next time. It was busy here. The downside was that we had to flag our server to get more water and the bill. Otherwise, everything that we consumed was yummy. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and was done. Yay! I used the washroom before we left. The women's washroom was clean. No issues. This eatery is a great place to catch up with friends over delicious food. I'd like to come here on a weekday and gauge the parking scene. I'd return to try more good eats and drinks. (187)
