It's our first time here. I saw the good reviews and it's open layer thank some of our other favorite places, but what clinched it for tonight was that they have kampyo rolls. (If you've never had it, it's a sweet squash and it's delicious and you should definitely try it!) We started with the salmon skin salad which was so unique! It has all our favorites! Salmon skin (obviously) kani, seaweed salad, and caviar. We got the sauce on the side because we were worried it would be too spicy, but it was delicious! It was still good that it was on the side so I could control how much I used. Next we shared the kampyo (or is it kanpyo? I can never remember) roll and a mackerel and tamago roll (not on the menu but they made a great one and you should try that too!) Finally we shared tofu teriyaki. They served SIX huge pieces of tofu (probably an entire brick of tofu) The sauce was delicious and it came with onions and veggies. If I had to nitpick, the veggies could be cut a little smaller but no complaints over all. We are taking most of the tofu home. The service was great. Our server was polite and professional. I didn't even have to ask for fresh plates between the sushi and the tofu. As for atmosphere, it's a little dark but they play great music (lots of '80's!). The music is soft and not obtrusive. Mikado has been around for quite a while. We werehuge fans of the prior establishment Peking Mandarin Inn. The inside is modern and comfortable. We had dinner there several weeks ago. Food was good, service was ok, not great. We also had salmon sashimi and unagi sushi. read more

I decided to treat myself to shrimp tempura from Mikado Restaurant in Cherry Hill. I used Uber Eats to deliver. On a scale of 1 to 10 the meal was an 1. Only the shrimp tasted as I expected. The tempura veggies appeared to have been cooked last month. The coating was so tough that I could not bite through it. The color made me doubt that they had even been cooked. Such a cute restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is great. We got the appetizer special that came with a summer roll, fried roll, dumplings (shumai) and chicken satay. All we're delicious. We then got the seafood wide noodle which was amazing! And they were able to provide hot chili on the side to make it even spicier. Lastly, we got the sushi boat and it was good. The fish was fresh. The special roll they added was excellent. I wish there was a little less rice on the California rolls but that my opinion. The service was fast and we didn't wait long for our food. Definitely recommend coming here for any type of outing. read more

I really love sushi and this was def a good place for it. The gyoza & shumai dumplings were delicious, I would've been happy if I only had those 2 for dinner. The rolls are pretty big except for the classics such as the Philadelphia which we ordered and was tiny compared to the special rolls. The Lynn roll had a strong fish taste which I did not enjoy but the Godzilla roll was absolute perfection!! They have a lot of great options to choose from and the interior of the restaurant is very nice and cozy. I can't speak on behalf of their sushi but their hibachi was just blah. For starters it's not even real hibachi; no hibachi tables. The rice wasn't the normal hibachi fried rice. The side sauces didn't taste right or good. I didn't end up eating even half my dinner. The service was also so quick and rushed. Immediately after the salad & soup was served my meal came out. I didn't even have a chance to eat either before the server was asking if I was done. The hibachi combo was $50 a person which imo seems rather high. Overall was not impressed. read more

Stopped by this restaurant while in the area and was not disappointed. We were sat right away, and it was very cute and dimly lit inside. Service could have been a bit better. But everything else was great. I got the salmon hibachi which was super flavorful. This place might also have the best miso soup and salad that I've had from hibachi spots thus far. read more

I came in a lunchtime. It was dead. It was nothing going on when it was dead. They haven't barely cooked anything. They supposed to have chicken wings. There was no chicken wings at the thing well, actively at the buffet. They didn't even give us any brief options like what makes it taste good because I'm not a Korean person but I don't know how to do or grill stuff to make it taste good I wish they have people to help us to make it happen or make it possible to make everything taste better or good. One person which it was me I ordered the dinner special. Somebody else with me order something else and it wasn't from the dentist special and they still charge us both anyway because the other person wants to buffet area only she did not order from the grill area. That's the bad thing about it. I wish there was better ways for people to help us cause we paid a total of $73 on top of the $73. We also paid the tip as well. $13 for the waiter that really didn't do basically nothing and helped did not help us at all and I should've never tipped the client the person at all that person should've never got nothing. The person that should help us was a person that is that knows what they're doing and that's the problem that we have right now other than that, the atmosphere is OK. I went here with my three college friends. Our waiter, Jeff, was so nice, asked if we were splitting the check after we ordered, and was very attentive. It really should be 5-star. The service was excellent, the portions are large, I love sashimi and hmmmm. The interior is 6 x 12 black tile walls and grouted 3/4" with white. Listen... I never post reviews but felt compelled for this one. I have lived in NYC and Seattle and have had my fair share of sushi. And by fair share I mean sushi is my favorite food and I've eaten at well over 100+ different sushi and omakase restaurants. This place is some of the best of the best. The fish is incredibly fresh and the rolls are second to none. The sushi and sashimi are great (you can get better at higher end places) but the rolls are the BEST I have ever had. EVER. Standard sashami as the name implies, not terrible and not particularly good. The sashami was on a huge bed of ice which made the fish temperature a bit too icy. 'A' for effort for presentation though. I did like the quantity that they give you also cause I was definitely more than satisfied after eating it all. The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice too but overall impression from the other friends I went with was that the food was only okay. I got Gyoza- Meat dumplings Godzilla Roll Lynn Roll I used their online portal to order (paid at the restaurant) and everything was ready when I arrived granted I was running 20mins behind. Everything was delicious but I didn't really enjoy the Gyoza, the meat itself looked like mystery meat and it was dry so I would not recommend that. I am not sure where they get it from but I know there are many other suppliers of tastier Gyoza. The rolls were delicious and I pretty much ate both when I got home because I was hungry. The parking is plenty and the establishment is a large building that's well lit, can't miss it. Immediately were sat in a cozy both, great for date night. They have a great but typical regular menu and then they have an even better special rolls menu. We ordered two special rolls, two regular rolls, edamame, and miso soup. The regular rolls and apps were to be expect. However, the special rolls were DIVINE! We were so happy. The fish was very fresh and the rolls were well made. The special rolls are a tad pricey but they are well worth it, very filling! They also give you a pallet cleanser for an app and then they bring you a hot towel and pineapple at the end of your dinner. Very unique and a great touch. I'm so glad I decided to try this place because I was so expressed with all the food I got, especially the sushi. I got the duck roll, sashimi appetizer, two chef's special rolls (I forgot the name), and some salmon and sweet shrimp a la carte. It's very rare to find sweet shrimp a la carte and this place satisfied my craving. The chef's specialty rolls were not only delicious but the size of the sushi rolls were huge. I've been going to this restaurant for maybe 5 years and it's never disappointed. It's BYOB with no additional cost. The service is amazing, always attentive. The sushi is delicious, best sushi I've tasted. My go to are Godzilla roll (spicy mayo and tuna deep fried) and Lynn roll (shrimp tempura with avocado). Uhm so these rolls are HUGE. Also very good. We ordered the calamari and an appetizer and I had the Rainbow Roll with a green salad. I could tell by others pictures these were going to be big rolls, my friend ordered the Godzilla Roll and shrimp tempura. Let me tell you, I'm not really sure how one would go about eating that Godzilla Roll. She said it was very spicy too. It looked good though. I went there with my friend to catch up, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The hostess and waitress greeted us the moment we walked in the restaurant. Upon walking in the door they took our temperature which I'd prefer not to have happen but other than that everything else was outstanding. Mikado is byob and we had two different bottles of wine. The waitress was very friendly, quick to take our order, and offered an ice bucket for our wine. We ordered a few different specialty rolls and an assortment of a la carte sushi which the waitress offered to bring out on a boat. The display was beautiful. The sushi tasted very fresh. The toro, while pricey, was delicious and buttery texture wise. The uni was also good. This is a good place for group celebrations or gatherings and decent sushi. The quality of sushi is a touch above the grocery store. It's a little irritating to pay a high price when it's overcrowded during covid, slow service, and the food was just okay. From being seated in our own private little dining room, the excellent service from Sarah, the delicious food - and the extra touches. I hate giving this place this rating, but it was a hot mess of a dining experience. I went with a few people, 1 of whom is immunocompromised, so we asked to sit at the outside seating area. They tried to convince us not to but we stood our ground for her well being. She and I were the 2 vegetarians/vegans of the group of 5 of us, and we ordered the same sushi roll. This sushi roll has a veggie version and a not veggie version. Our orders got to the table, and both of ours looked different. I saw what looked like tofu in mine, I took the pieces out and tried one. It was weird and I couldn't tell what it was. Then I saw fake crab in mine... which is made out of fish. I haven't had fish in years, and I freaked out. Her roll looked different also, it didn't have the same ingredients in it at all. I went inside and said something, and the server tried to tell me that my friend ordered the veggie one and I ordered the fish one. No I did not, I was very careful in ordering this roll and a sweet potato roll. She confirmed that what I thought was tofu was actually egg. I was so mad We went back and forth a bit and I tried to explain that it doesn't even make sense because hers had fake crab in it too, just no egg squares. The guy working also told me they'd send me out the proper roll for me... And when it got to the table it didn't look remotely like what either of us were given, so I call some serious BS and trying to blame this situation on me/us which was not ok. The sweet potato roll was good, and the correct roll I eventually got was also. Everything my friends ordered they said were meh. No,no, don't go. Piece had frozen more than once and recently defrosted.all the fish, from the tuna to the red clam (which should both have distinctly different tastes and texture were of the same consistency. Red clam should always be tough because it's a muscle , this was mealy. I understand scallops are expensive these days, But honestly! I ordered scallop sashimi. I asked and every sushi/sashimial la cart comes with two pieces per ordeal. What should have been at least one of my two scallops came sliced into at least thirds, if not quarters, giving me a scallop so thin I could see things through it, the other (1/4, 1/3) was poorly cut in half giving me a piece smaller than my them to my knuckle and equally thin. I get I was in a NJ suburb outside Philly, but don't charge me $17.00 for a sliver and a chip off the end. And stop selling nothing but badly defrosted mealy fish. This is McMansion neighborhood. That's probably why your parking lot is always empty except for Fri and Sat nights. read more

The staff was very nice! We came in a bit late, they close at 9:30 we arrived at 8:45, but the sushi was still amazing! The atmosphere for outside seating was wonderful and felt "homey". I love that since I sat outside I could bring my little puppy since I am afraid of leaving her at home.
