A great dinner with fresh sushi, and the sushi chefs worked incredibly fast. Will come back again.

    Shrimp tempura

I decided to treat myself to shrimp tempura from Mikado Restaurant in Cherry Hill. I used Uber Eats to deliver. On a scale of 1 to 10 the meal was an 1. Only the shrimp tasted as I expected. The tempura veggies appeared to have been cooked last month. The coating was so tough that I could not bite through it. The color made me doubt that they had even been cooked. Expensive and disappointing.

Such a cute restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice and the food is great. We got the appetizer special that came with a summer roll, fried roll, dumplings (shumai) and chicken satay. All we're delicious. We then got the seafood wide noodle which was amazing! And they were able to provide hot chili on the side to make it even spicier. Lastly, we got the sushi boat and it was good. The fish was fresh. The special roll they added was excellent. I wish there was a little less rice on the California rolls but that my opinion. The service was fast and we didn't wait long for our food. Definitely recommend coming here for any type of outing.

I really love sushi and this was def a good place for it. The gyoza & shumai dumplings were delicious, I would've been happy if I only had those 2 for dinner. The rolls are pretty big except for the classics such as the Philadelphia which we ordered and was tiny compared to the special rolls. The Lynn roll had a strong fish taste which I did not enjoy but the Godzilla roll was absolute perfection!! They have a lot of great options to choose from and the interior of the restaurant is very nice and cozy. We had some trouble understanding our waiter but we got through it and had a good experience overall.

Stopped by this restaurant while in the area and was not disappointed. We were sat right away, and it was very cute and dimly lit inside. Service could have been a bit better. But everything else was great. I got the salmon hibachi which was super flavorful. This place might also have the best miso soup and salad that I've had from hibachi spots thus far.

Standard sashami as the name implies, not terrible and not particularly good. The sashami was on a huge bed of ice which made the fish temperature a bit too icy. 'A' for effort for presentation though. I did like the quantity that they give you also cause I was definitely more than satisfied after eating it all. The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice too but overall impression from the other friends I went with was that the food was only okay. Don't think I'd personally go out of the way for this.

YUMMMMMMMMY! We were craving sushi and the first place we went to just so happened to be closed on Tuesday, so we said let's check this place out. THANKFULLY we did! The parking is plenty and the establishment is a large building that's well lit, can't miss it. Immediately were sat in a cozy both, great for date night. They have a great but typical regular menu and then they have an even better special rolls menu. We ordered two special rolls, two regular rolls, edamame, and miso soup. The regular rolls and apps were to be expect. However, the special rolls were DIVINE! We were so happy. The fish was very fresh and the rolls were well made. The special rolls are a tad pricey but they are well worth it, very filling! They also give you a pallet cleanser for an app and then they bring you a hot towel and pineapple at the end of your dinner. Very unique and a great touch. Service was great and the establishment is very clean. Definitely going to become a new go-to sushi restaurant for us! Highly recommended. It's also BYOB!

Pros - easy parking - great food portions - extensive menu, lots of food to choose from - food presentation is appealing - they give a complimentary plate of fruit and warm hand towels at the end of your meal - unagi don was good but I wish they added more sauce - my favorite was the agedashi tofu! It came out hot and perfectly crispy on the outside - the pace of bringing food out was great. It wasn't too fast where I felt like I had to chow down or too slow Cons - the bathroom was SO dark! Changing my baby's diaper was such a pain! - interior is a little too dark for my liking - server took awhile to take our order, we had to wave them down - felt like the restaurant wasn't super clean. We sat by a window and they had a gnat fly trap set up right by our table

I'm so glad I decided to try this place because I was so expressed with all the food I got, especially the sushi. I got the duck roll, sashimi appetizer, two chef's special rolls (I forgot the name), and some salmon and sweet shrimp a la carte. It's very rare to find sweet shrimp a la carte and this place satisfied my craving. The chef's specialty rolls were not only delicious but the size of the sushi rolls were huge. The sushi chef gave a house special appetizer which I appreciated and it was really good as well. I will come here again and would like to try the other items on the menu.

I am philly dude who happens to stumble into Joisey for some business. Mikado was the closet restaurant to my location and looked good on yelp. Its a clean and modern restaurant with good wait staff. Got a booth seat and order a variety of items. green salad Soft shell crab Hot pepper Toro special appetizer Spicy salmon hand roll Hot green tea Sprite Sriracha sauce on side Extra ginger on side The green salad has an amazing ginger dressing. One of the best ginger dressing I have tried. The star of the show was the toro appetizer. Amazing amazing (i reiterate the work "amazing") Great place for tonight's dinner. Thank you yelp.

I've been going to this restaurant for maybe 5 years and it's never disappointed. It's BYOB with no additional cost. The service is amazing, always attentive. The sushi is delicious, best sushi I've tasted. My go to are Godzilla roll (spicy mayo and tuna deep fried) and Lynn roll (shrimp tempura with avocado). For appetizer we get the tuna dumpling which is amazing with wasabi sauce. The ambiance is great, dim light for dates.

Enoki and egg soup is my favorite appetizer. Light broth with umami and perfect saltiness. My second favorite appetizer is agedashi tofu. So silky like pudding with light teriyaki broth. Beef roll up with scallions: beef is tender with some kind of sweet teriyaki sauce. It's pretty good. Eggplant filled with ground chicken. It looks appealing but unfortunately a bit too greasy. The sushi here is very special. The sushi rice is silky and moist. The fish piece is bigger than the rice. The eel is a must try here. It's very big compared to the rice underneath it. It very flavorful too. Mt entree is steamed salmon with seafood broth. I recommend squirting the lemon to the broth to make it taste like yuzu sauce as it lightens the whole dish and makes it less fishy.

PRO: I will say, if you want a place where you can sit and have a conversation, dark mood lighting (especially forgiving if the last time you saw each other alot was 20 years ago! - LOL), Sagami is an excellent choice. PRO: They don't rush you out - take your time. It was a Thursday night, so not especially busy when we came at 6:30 PM. CON: I could not find an updated menu online - I'm one of those people who like to peruse a menu in advance. I started with a vegetable tempura appetizer ($10) - excellent, light, airy, tasty. My main was the dragon roll - very tasty. Service was quite nice. Appetizers came out almost immediately, the rolls took a lot longer to get to our table. This is the kind of place where you're not paying to fill up your belly - but if you do, expect to shell out some bucks.

My husband and I made a pitstop at the Cherry Hill Mall to use the restroom and on the way in we saw Kooma, with "martini bar" in the title. We were automatically intrigued. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a very pleasant staff. Since we did not want a full meal, we opted for a seat at the bar. My husband wanted to try a drink with peanut simple syrup, but unfortunately, the beverage was discontinued. Instead, he went with an Asian style old-fashioned. It was smoked using wood chips and was presented impeccably. Loved watching our bartender burn the chips on top of the drink to create the smoke in the glass. I selected a spicy, pineapple, passionfruit martini, which looked equally as beautiful as it was appetizing. For our snack, we selected the ceviche. Perhaps we didn't read the menu too closely, because this was a sweet ceviche with mango, instead of your traditional citrusy version we are used to. It was still very tasty, but the original style is my preference. Price wise, this place is a bit more on the expensive side, but you definitely feel the luxurious ambience in the atmosphere. Can't praise the bartenders/waiters enough enough. They were so attentive and sincerely friendly, which can be hard to find.

Unfortunately my complete meal was not as complementary. My plates certainly looked great but the rice in both my entrees was not properly prepared and seasoned. The seaweed used for my roll was not crisp meaning it was either not toasted or stored properly before service to account for the humidity. The bed of rice in my Chirashi was lightly seasoned with furikake seaweed but that hardly made a difference. It was still under seasoned. The sliced fish in my chirashi was fresh, but there wasn't any difference in taste from piece to piece. No amount of soy sauce or wasabi was going to enhance my chirashi. As with many restaurants, they seem to be prioritizing take out over customers with reservations. We had to wade through a scrum of delivery orders and pickup, after which we could finally advance to the hostess. After a short wait, the two of us were seated. Service was polite, if a little slow. While we were promptly given menus, we had to flag down the waitress to give our orders. We ordered a number of appetizers to share which were very good and served within a reasonable time. Unfortunately, we did not have any plates and it took 5 minutes to again flag down a waitress to get some. We were then presented with 2 plates that looked like they came from a NJ diner, heavy, cheap, generic ceramic. Our nigiri arrived and saved the day. The restaurant has a wider selection than many places in the area including "reasonably priced" o-toro. The fish was fresh, firm and very good. One thing that was lacking was any artistic presentation of the fish. It was nigiri, wasabi, and ginger. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but the overall restaurant experience was lacking. I will be back however.
