    Tuna spring roll

Probably the worst Asian food I have ever had. The dumplings were dry and chewy. They didn't seem fresh at all. We have had dumplings before and these were the worst we have ever had. The Kung Pao Chicken had no flavor and the chicken pieces were hard and had alot of batter on them. The dish had some sweet sauce but it didn't even taste like Kung Pao Chicken. The ambiance was the only saving grace. Also the service was lacking the waiter was abrupt and not friendly and personable. I would never go back and don't recommend this restaurant. Avoid at all costs.

Gong Great views, great service. You have entertainment on the lake with a great light show and music. This place was really good but pretty pricey. I ordered the shrimp Pad Thai although it was a nice portion it only had five shrimp on it and it was $20. My friend ordered the Kung Pow Chicken that was around $20 as well, it was very good. Just saying, prepared for the prices are going to spend at this resort big crisis for small taste. And most of the drinks we have had don't really have much alcohol in them. I think they charge enough, they should actually I alcohol. I WOULD recommend.

On the first day of Puerto Vallarta I arrive to the Grand Mayan! I decided I wanted Mexican food but there was no reservations so I ended up here! I have to say I had the pad Thai and edamame and it was amazing! The pad Thai had perfect flavor and the shrimp and chicken was delicious! I feel like it wasn't too salty and it was just yummy! I recommend you try their pad Thai!

We enjoy Toppenish steak houses and frequent them. This one being on the resort was just good. The customer service was excellent and attentive. The only real issue was the lack of options on the menu for teppen I expected a bit more but the experience overall was good.

Excellent, friendly service & the food is on-point! Try the fire coffee that Romiro makes- awesome experience!

This restaurant has the best service in Vidanta. Ask for Carlos to be your server. The food is perfectly cooked. I know what Asian fusion food should taste like. I forgot to take a picture for our main course Dijon sea bass. Sea bass is perfectly cooked, Dijon sauce is perfectly balanced.

Great service and lovely view on the water. Complimentary shrimp appetizer and chocolates at the end. Drink was pretty but very weak.

It's inside the Vidanta nueva Vallarta. It's a Chinese sushi hibachi restaurant. The place is so pretty on a waterfront with a really cool water show. The sushi was fresh and delicious. We had a tuna tataki roll chicken and shrimp pad thai and vegetables tempura. Everything was delicious and the service was good.

Wonderful Asian inspired dishes in an intimate setting. Some nights offer unique experiences such as hibachi or teppinyaki. Make a reservation to ensure your chance to dine here.

I made my reservation through open table and asked for a table with a view, they delivered! Our table was up front right by the water and the light show that goes every thirty minutes. The patio seating was pretty much full to capacity too, so this was very good planning on their part! We began our meal with the duck dumplings and the asparagus rolls. Both dishes were very good but small portions. There only four dumplings and four small stalks of asparagus roll. Of the two, I really liked the asparagus rolls. This was a surprise to me because I never order these. Our waiter though, told us they were very popular so we decided to give them a try. Asparagus wrapped in steak with a spectacular soy glaze, I could have had two orders to myself and been very happy. The duck dumplings were flavorful too. The filling was a nice complex combination of flavors and the wrapper wasn't gummy. I think the sauce on the side could have been better. It was just a bit too thin and didn't stick to the dumpling when dipped. I had the shrimp in black curry and hubby had the black cod. His black cod was so good! A real treat! The fish was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. Better than lobster I think! Portion size was average, not too big or too small. Plus a side of rice came with both dishes. The only small issue with the black cod was the price tag was huge! My shrimp in black curry was really good too for a much more reasonable price. My portion was huge! Could easily have served two people. There was tons of shrimp on the plate. The shrimp was cooked well and the black curry was really tasty with a bit of spice to it. I have never had this before but loved it! There was no room for dessert. Finally a note on service, even though two waiters tag team each table, service could be much improved. Took a while for them to show up and then when we needed a few more minutes to look over the menu they literally didn't show back up for 30 minutes. Then it took almost another thirty for the appetizers to show up. After that things went pretty smoothly. Not the worst service we have had a Vidanta but not the best either.

Like Christina K, I was a bit miffed when I called to reserve our table for 8 for dinner at 7:30pm and they said they were booked and didn't have any space available due to 3 other larger groups. The guy on the phone suggested a later time of 8:30pm which we agreed to. Gong actually has a large outdoor seating area and the inside isn't that small either. As we were tired of getting bit up by mosquitos we reserved an indoor table, and when we arrived the place was almost completely dead, inside and out. I'm sure you could have probably even walked up and got a table, but still call ahead to reserve just in case. The dinner service was nice. It was like we had a personalized waiter as there appeared to be one guy assigned for the whole table. He was very informative about the wine selection and offered commentary for those with food allergies. I ordered an avocado roll without the eel and veggie fried rice. I was eating light so that I could have froyo later. Nonetheless, the sushi was very nice and a perfect portion and the avocado was fresh and just ripe enough. The veggie fried rice was also a perfect portion. It wasn't too big where I felt like I would have leftovers, but wasn't too small whereas I was left still hungry. One of the people in my party got like a hot pot that they bring a gas stove thing to the table and the soup cooks in front of you. It was actually kind of exciting with the risk of possibly catching the entire table on fire. Overall, I was glad we chose Gong as everyone at the table was able to get something they really enjoyed and the food and drinks were actually very good. Everything was also very reasonably priced, as most things are in Mexico. The dress code says casual/formal in the resort manual, but it's actually more so casual. Still it's nice to dress up a bit and this place is worth a stop for a night dinner especially if the mosquitos and heat aren't too bad.

I ordered off of the restaurant week menu while my SO opted to order off of the regular one. He started with the calamari, which was quite good. Nice and light breading and not overcooked. We sampled the papaya salad (one of the best I've ever tasted), coconut fried rice with yellow curry, drunken noodles with shrimp and mango sticky rice. This was my first time trying mango sticky rice and I'm glad I did it here because Mexico has such excellent mangos. It was fantastic and is now a new favorite. The curry rice was also delicious but for me, was a lot of food, which is not a bad thing. A great value actually since I got three meals out of it! They also serve margaritas by the pitcher, which is literally illegal in the ridiculous state we are from so we were very excited at this option. The full pitcher was a bit much for 2 but my friends, not to worry! They do a half pitcher!!! Our server was so nice and did a great job. Food came out very quickly as well. We had a great time at Archie's Wok and it has been added to our list of musts when in PV.

I ordered take out since the wife wanted to stay in. Pork egg rolls, Mongolian curry beef, almond chicken and fried rice. I had a lemonade while I was waiting. Everything was packaged well (lids taped on, sauce servings with lids, wrapped in cling film. The food was tasty. While I was not much more than 5 minutes back to the hotel, the egg rolls were soggy. The sweet and sour sauce for them was very good, great flavor and not overly thick. I asked for the curry to be hot, but not too hot, it was pretty mild. Definitely worth giving it a shot when you're looking to switch things up. Like most of PV, it was good and it was spendy (about 1,400 MXD for 2 mains, combination fried rice and 3 pork egg rolls + 1 lemonade).

We arrived with a reservation and asked to sit on the terrace within the same restaurant. Staff accommodated us without any mention that this would result in a full charge for the original reservation. We then paid again for the dinner we actually had. Only afterward did we discover we had been billed for both--despite receiving just one meal. This was never disclosed - and could easily have been shared by the manager that seated us. Had it been, we would have made a different decision. Charging guests under these circumstances reflects a serious lack of transparency. Even more concerning is the response: management has relied on fine-print policy rather than addressing the obvious breakdown in service. Bottom line: We paid for dinner twice--the restaurant was paid twice. That is simply not acceptable. We hope someone in leadership reviews this situation and reaches out to resolve it appropriately.

We must have arrive early as there weren't a whole lot of people there and basically got a personal waitstaff experience as we were basically the only ones there. It felt very V.I.P. We ordered some drinks and our meals and as we waited it was wonderful just heading the waves crashing in as the sun began to set. There was awesome live music right in front of our table. The music at the time had a Caribbean/Jamaican vibe mixed along with the local contemporary Mexican club music. We sat there sipping our blue hawaiians, mojitos, and pina coladas as the sun slowly made it's way toward the horizon on the sea. The sky turned ever-changing wonderful shades of orange, peach, pink, chartreuse, blue, and purple. That....is when the feeling of being on vacation sunk in. The waitstaff wasn't overpowering either. I didn't feel like they were rushing us by any means and really allowed us to take in the surroundings. I had order a light meal of the plantains stuffed with black beans with a chipotle mayo dipping sauce and a side of black beans. Oh my gosh it was so good. Just perfectly fried and a mix of sweet, salty, and savory and with the mildly spicy chipotle mayo, it was really wonderful. I will also say that the drinks are big and they are certainly do not skimp on the alcohol. My friend's mom had trouble finishing her mojito as it was so big. Overall though, if I'm ever in the area again, I will DEFINITELY be going here again. It was just a wonderful experience with good friends & family that I'll never forget.
