mike is very rude as you can probably tell by his responses to other customers. if you have a comment about his work he fights you tooth and nail and defends poor workmanship instead of making things right. his guys made a big mess of my yard and they also stay about ten minutes for weekly service. the mowing is ok but everything else they do is really bad and working with mike is not worth the headache. i wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Had a misunderstanding with my old landscaper who I thought went out of business after the pandemic and decided to call Mike. Mike gets one star because of how he was early on because otherwise I'd give a zero if I could. I've struggled with posting this because he is a small business but after seeing other lawns throughout the spring, summer and fall, I decided to post. We searched the neighborhood for the nicest lawns and landscaping and kept seeing signs for Mike and Marco. We called and he showed up the next day. He removed a ton of landscaping rocks and excess dirt from our backyard cleanup. The lawn looked great to start but as the summer went on his guys destroyed my lawn. Coming from the nicest lawn last year to this was horrible. I called him and texted with no response. I also asked my wife to call because I thought he might be screening calls. I spoke to his guys who pretended to listen and did nothing and actually broke a sprinkler head. I decided to fire him and he finally called back and sounded unfazed. I called my old landscaper right back and will never make this mistake again. It's sad because the houses he handles are bigger and have more landscaping than mine. I guess stealing our money was just fine for him. Edit: because you can't reply, yes you did respond back after numerous calls and texts. You finally called back when I left a message and canceled your service and I thanked you because I was being nice and don't like to be rude. Also I wrote this now because we just spent a ton of money with another landscaper correcting you killing our entire lawn. Pictures speak louder than words Mike. Absolutely the worst masonry work. All my blue stone steps came loose twice in 3 years. They tried to blame it on the sprinklers. Beware

Poor Landscaping and Even Worse Customer Service They cut the grass at different lengths, weeds were left untreated, they left debris everywhere and broke several sprinkler heads. Mike came by to look at the sprinkler and lawn. He couldn't get out of there quick enough. He was dismissive and had no answers to my questions. The most definitive thing he said was "I'll tell the guys to take care of it." He also said he would replace a sprinkler head. Well, no one ever took care of anything. I had to hire someone to fix the sprinkler and then deduct it from the bill. I called to see if they could come back and do the job I paid them to do...no response. I left a message and then they just stopped showing up. No explanation, no attempts to fix the poor job, nothing. No one ever picks up the phone, it is always the same answering machine. My yard looks terrible and it is embarrassing. I'm not complaining about bushes or plants, or that my lawn is not plush and beautiful. My complaint is that not only did they not cut my lawn properly, they did nothing to address my issues and then just stopped showing up. Don't use this company. read more

When my wife and I decided to redesign our landscaping and driveway, we took the time to do extensive research. We received several proposals including one from Mike and Marco's. My entire time living on Long Island, I have always seen the Mike and Marco's trucks and signs. Their reputation is outstanding, but I always heard they were so expensive (BIG MISCONCEPTION). I invited Mike to our home to make a proposal, as I understood you pay for the best. I wanted someone who could do everything including the landscape design, Pavers, Blacktop, sprinklers etc. WOW, was I wrong on one point, Mike 's proposal came in EXTREMLY reasonable compared to the other vendors and the value for someone with his expertise and reputation could not be beat. After extensive design meetings and brainstorming with Mike, we selected a design that would transform our home into a showpiece that we love pulling up to everyday! We have had an unbelievable and successful experience with Mike and Marco's and the entire team. Mike and his team were always on time, meticulous and extremely talented. Their attention to detail and patience with me and my specific questions and demands were spectacular. Everyone on the team had a very apparent dedication to hard work and perfection. They were especially diligent in making sure every aspect of the project was completed on-time and with an extreme commitment to excellence. Mike and Camille (who I called and texted often) were problem solvers who were ALWAYS available day or night with a solution. Often Mike had an answer before I knew there was even a question to ask. Both Mike and Camille responded to my numerous emails, texts and calls immediately every time I had a new idea, annoying "suggestion" or "to-do list" that I thought of in the middle of the night! The quality of the work, craftsmanship and attention to detail was amazing at every stage of the project! In addition, it is so apparent that Mike ALWAYS stands behind the quality of their work. This project FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!! We love all of it! I have used Mike & Marcos for years now after trying many other companies. Not sure why someone posted pictures of their workers sleeping or eating. In my world people are allowed to do what they want on their lunch breaks. These guys are probably working long days in the sweltering heat. In my corporate job I'm allowed to do whatever I please on my lunch hour whether it be eating an actual lunch which god forbid someone does or take a nap or go shopping....My lawn has never looked better and I have tried numerous companies to no avail, I always went back to these guys. Posting pictures of hard working men eating and resting is beyond my comprehension. read more

mike and marcos have been taking care of my house for at least 30 years and i still get compliments on my lawn thank you mike

Having major problems communicating with this company they did work out my house and promised everything we needed him to come back as a lot of plants did not survive, we made an appointment and Mike did not show up, and did not call. He showed up two weeks later without me being there, after I had to call again I was told that Mike had come to my home and that nothing was dead, I would say at least half of the plants need to be replace, he sent his son who agree. After his son was at my home we have called 5 times without a call back and only an answering machine to talk talk to. Very very unhappy it makes me sad to have to write this, Mike is a nice guy but I am left with no alternative. read more
