I have always wanted to try Mike Anderson's. I thought it was a very upscale place with white tablecloths but it's very causal and comfortable inside. Almost rustic at this location. Service is fast! We got there before the evening rush and were immediately seated. Our server was nice and answered our questions. Food came out quickly on the cutest dish shaped plates. I ordered the catfish and shrimp with hushpuppies and a salad. The salad was big to be a side salad. Almost could have served as a entree salad. The hushpuppies were decent. Probably better fresh out the grease. The baked potato was hot enough to be considered straight from the oven to the table. It was good but difficult to eat it was so hot. There is so much to like about Mike Anderson's! Great place to bring out-of-town family and friends who want to try South Louisiana food. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are the Chargrilled Oysters and the Broiled Seafood Platter. Our family also enjoys the Family Packs to go. The Shrimp and Grits are an excellent choice during brunch. Been passing by this place and decided to stop today. Very disappointed. Outside had a bad smell. Maybe it's the pond. We were seated rather quickly despite the large parties present. Very nice lady at hostess stand but the lady that seated us looked like something was hurting her face. The crab fingers were nicely fried but no flavor. The house salad was different. No flavor again. Nothing had flavor. This is not the Mike Anderson's way. I don't want salty, I want flavor. Wait staff nice but slow. The atmosphere of the place seems creepy for some reason. Oh Mike Anderson's! It's always a win when I go! It never disappoints! First the wait was 30 mins but I ain't mind and it definitely didn't disappoint! When I got seated I ordered the blueberry slinger and it was VERY GOOD! I truly enjoyed it. Fruity with a sense of sweetness but not over powering! Absolutely terrible! The host Maya clearly hates her job and made me feel unwelcomed just like the rest of my family. She cannot hold a smile and treat others with respect, she was on her phone making little tiktoks, and also was rude to me and my family. The food was cold, disgusting, and poisoning to me. The restaurant had a dull feeling with all the employees being miserable especially Maya, she brought the whole restaurant down with her. I would've never expected a restaurant to be back in this rural area. It was a nice surprise to find it and the restaurant itself is so beautiful. The restaurant was freshly decorated for Christmas and it looked like it was out of a Hallmark movie. The staff was very accommodating for our party of nine. I liked that the tables were a large square so we could still all see each other and interact. I wish I remembered our waitress's name but she was so nice and friendly. She would have been working the lunch shift on Friday, November 29. For an appetizer, I had a half dozen of raw oysters. They brought it out with crackers, horseradish, cocktail sauce, and lemon wedges. The oysters were a very nice size and one of them was so big we nicknamed it the granddaddy oyster. There was a very nice lunch special menu with very affordable prices. I chose the sampler which came with gumbo, etoufee, fried catfish, fried shrimp, a hush puppy, and fried mushrooms. I was in seafood heaven. This lunch was a foodie's dream. I will definitely be back next time. I'm in Louisiana. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch today with my wife and stepson. Had the crab 7 ways, catfish poboy, crab/squash/potato soup, chargrilled crab claws, fried pimento cheese balls, and crab au gratin. All in all, I was disappointed. The pimento cheese balls didn't seem to be pimento cheese at all; there were no pimentos nor was there any "zing" that comes with pimento cheese. The soup was different than expected and just wasn't very good, very watery and the flavors didn't meld well. Crab claws, crab au gratin, and poboy were good. In my option Mike Anderson's is very over rated. Unless it was just a bad day but the service was really good and the waiter was very nice and attentive. We only had to wait 45 minutes for a Sunday which isn't bad in my opinion. We got the gator appetizer and it was very good, fried well and the sauce was very good. I got the Cajun crawfish Alfredo it was extremely thick and didn't really taste like anything I wouldn't recommend. Another guest got the fried shrimp with fries which was very good I really liked the breading on the shrimp. The fried oysters I was told were a little fishy but the batter was good. The baked potato was dry but the toppings were nice. I don't have a picture but the blackened drum was also very good. The ambiance is always nice with the Cajun music and the pond outside. This is my first time at a Mike Anderson's. I went the other day. It was awful. The host was so rude and was on her phone the entire time and was making a tiktok when I was trying to ask a question about the wait time for a party of 4. I think her name was Maya. Not too sure if that was her name. But it really made me feel uncomfortable. She was so rude and made awful comments about me and i actually didn't even get to sit or eat I left and she ended up making me cry. Horrible horrible service. Me and my family went out to eat on saturday and decided to try Mike Anderson's out of curiosity. Unfortunately the food was horrible and caused food poisoning in my son. The service was quick and friendly but when we asked to speak to the manager the server came back and said the manager said they are busy. The food that we ordered was the usual high-quality of Mike Anderson's. Initially, I ordered a cocktail that took a long time to come out. In addition, the food that my wife and I ordered took an exceptionally long time to come out. Our waitress was very efficient and was trying very hard. I could tell. She had a very cheerful attitude. The restaurant has not been there for a very long time. It is very large and it seemed that it did not have enough staff for the size of the restaurant. So in conclusion, I would possibly recommend this restaurant or not recommend it, depending upon my next encounter. I will go there one more time before I make a judgment. read more

EXCELLENT! We ordered a good variety for a to go order and everything was so well packed, super fresh and some of the best seafood and Cajun we've had! We enjoyed the broiled seafood platter that had so many wonderful stuffed and broiled dishes like stuffed crab, pepper, mushrooms, oyster, fabulous broiled shrimp two ways, salad, red beans and rice, seafood gumbo...all of it was delicious! Mike Anderson's is one of our go to spots because we can count on good food and good service. Today was no exception. We ordered the char grilled oysters and hush puppies for an appetizer. We also ordered the whole catfish, the Norman (butterfly shrimp with crab etouffee over them), shrimp fettuccine, a grilled shrimp poboy, sweet potato fries, Mac and cheese, and sweet cream cheese grits (from the brunch menu). Etc. it's hit or miss at praireville location it's a bit pricey, but the lunch menu is always economically correct for my budget. The daiquiris are amazing, but they are too expensive but they are amazing but for one deck or you can get two daiquiris from one of the local daiquiri shops the food is hit or miss.
