Now the drink I had was extra potent and I appreciated that I was there for happy hour. Yet, we tried the crawfish Brie queso and it was watery with very little crawfish. The chips did not taste fresh, but all of it did have good flavor. We also shared the bbq platter. Again, it did not taste fresh, outside of the green beans. I would not order either of these again. We did get a club sandwich to go for our son and it does look delicious. But overall, it was a very average meal for what we paid for it. We went for Sunday brunch. It wasn't very busy, and definitely not crowded. There was no wait at noon on a Sunday. Our server and the manager or owner were friendly and attentive. The food had great flavors, but wasn't plated very well and the portions were skimpy. We were a table of 7 adults. Each of us had something we thought could have been better or improved. The house chips were over fried, almost to the point of being burnt. My mom and I had the Cubano sandwich, one of the sandwich halves on both of our plates had half the meat of the other half and some of the bread was soggy. All of the sandwiches were served with a pickle spear, but some of the spears were nearly half the size of the others, and they were more cucumbers than pickles. The bbq sauce was too vinagry. My son ordered the CP breakfast plate, and the servings of the grits and gravy were minuscule (served in little ramekins that were less than a cup). Also, the side serving of macaroni and cheese for $6 was tiny-less than 10 ounces or so. We had a nice time and our waters were refilled often, but there are too many good restaurants that aren't stingy with their servings in Baton Rouge. Our ticket for 8 meals and 1 cocktail was about $150. Only one person had leftovers to bring home. Probably won't be back. read more

We were torn between which appetizer to get and our server recommended the boudin. I'll be honest I wish we didn't listen to it. The boudin to us had no flavor and could use some work. Also wasn't a fan of the sauce that came with them. Entrees- the food we got was fine but salty. My ribs and side of fries were really salty but the pulled pork and brisket were good. This was one of our go to's for weekend brunch, but we are done. Last Sunday we were told there was a long wait even with only two families waiting because of reservations and a backed up kitchen, so this Sunday we made a reservation. When we arrived we were asked if a high top bar table would be ok. I said no because we have a 4 year old with us and asked if we could have a regular table seeing that plenty were available. I was told no even with a reservation because the kitchen is too backed up. This is with over half the restaurant empty. Even though it was restaurant week, there were plenty of large party reservations available, and we snagged one. They never filled up all the way either, so that is something to think about during RW if you're ever looking for options. I had trouble locating the restaurant because I went at night, and i did not see any clear signs from the road. Blair was amazing! She was on the spot, checked in the right amount, joked with us, and overall made sure we were taken care of. She provided some good recommendations and made the night great. I ordered my go-to, the debris egg rolls, primarily because I haven't found a City Pork dish I love all that much. It's a personal taste issue for all, so while it's not always my favorite, I do enjoy those. And it's hearty enough to be a meal in itself. I also had a bite of the boudin balls, and wow, they were quite good - maybe a selection for the future. I'm sure I'll go back, but the other location is much more convenient to me. Came to City Pork with reservations for lunch/brunch. We are visiting family and friends during Mardi Gras and we're excited to have a nice lunch close to town to meet up with friends. Decor of restaurant is appealing and clean. We got sat right away and noticed the one server with 4 tables occupied tops. Food options are great and they have happy hour specials. I am giving the ONE star for lack of service we received during our visit & hair found in food (w/ no apology or response at all for it). Our server explained all their happy hour specials and we were excited to hear all drinks (ANY DRINK) was 1/2 off. So we of course order a few drinks to try, as she brings out our check ALL of our drinks were charged regular price ($12-15/per drink). After asking her to look and correct this oversight, she explained she put in our ticket BEFORE HH, so it was not honored. Our ticket clearly has "3:00pm" marked on our ticket plus our server explained all the HH specials to us right as we sat down...seems to defeat the purpose. As our entrees came out, my friend's side of rice clearly had a LONG WHITE HAIR sticking out of it from the top. We let our server know that there is a hair in the rice and if we could get a new one. Without apologizing or saying ANYTHING, our server takes the rice and goes right back to the kitchen and maybe 15 seconds go by and she is coming right back out with another (hopefully new) rice. Not sure she even explained to the cook line what was found or let management know. Again, we get the check and the rice was charged to the tab We were ready to leave at this point and didn't want to get these issues handled by someone in charge (we doubt it bc the server and host were the ONLY two employees we saw at all this day-weird). First time at City Pork close by Blue Bayou. We really enjoyed all of our food that we ordered. The pork schnitzel has great flavor for this particular dish. The side of macaroni was delicious with a little hint of spice. It was quite small for the price but the flavors were great! The salad was really good but I did change the cheese and dressing that usually comes with it. Their Greek sensation dressing was very good. Our waitress got all of our order right and food came out in a good time. I like when the food takes a little while to come out being it shows that the food is actually being cooked. Went yesterday for restaurant week with my husband. We did the chicken cracklin and pork belly bites for apps. The pork belly bites were good but you could only taste the jam. The chicken cracklin had the perfect seasoning. Would have been a little better if it was cut thinner and crispier but that is just a personal thought. We did the duck leg and lamb t-bones. I preferred the duck and he preferred the lamb but both were good. For dessert we did the banana foster pudding and the bread pudding beignet. My husband like the banana foster pudding but prefers regular banana pudding. I loved the bread pudding beignets. I normally don't like bread pudding but battered and fried was perfect. I've been here multiple times for multiple different occasions. This place is super clean, cute, and trendy. The service is always exceptional. It's a bit pricey in my opinion for what you get. I've had the nachos which were okay. There's so much juice that at the bottom it makes the chips soggy. I've had the shrimp salad but for 23$ on a salad is a little much for me. Last time I went I got the fish but instead of pan fried I got it blackened and it was pretty good. I also got the gumbo to go. 10/10. Big fan of the gumbo.
