Recently, someone scratched the side of my car (just the trim, thankfully) and my (front) license plate fell off. I took the car to Mike's Auto Body, since they were good to me when I went to them 10 years ago. Mike was very personable then. I dread going through the process of getting quotes etc. knowing that the price and time would be an inconvenience to my busy work schedule. I drove my car in, hoping they'd give me a quick estimate at best and an appointment for (an estimate) another time at worst. Eric came straight out, looked over what needed to be done (I also asked for some scratches to be buffed out) and gave me an estimate of time and price. The guys took my trim off whilst I waited, then I left to return a couple of weeks later to have the license plate and trim reattached, as well as scratches buffed out. Some of the scratches were pretty bad, but the staff warned me not to expect them to be perfectly removed, which was what I'd already suspected. For the price, they did a great job. Often times, I expect to be denigrated in one way or another (it's just my experience in life) when I seek service for my car, renovations to my house, etc... however, the staff at Mike's Auto Body have always been respectful toward me. Mike gave me the confidence to go back this time, so I assume the professional and respectful behaviour comes from the top down. I truly won't go anywhere else. I looked up every Hyundai-certified repair shop in Boston and decided to bring it to their Malden location after getting side swiped and needing both driver side doors replaced. The shop was super communicative, transparent, and efficient. They helped clarify miscommunications with my insurance company directly and kept me in the loop every step of the way. They even brought my car to the Wakefield location after I dropped it off at the Malden location to perform the repairs quicker and brought it back to Malden for me to pick up. Absolutely impeccable service. My Mustang was keyed along the door, back and forth multiple times. I e-mailed Mike's, and they responded almost immediately. They were able to send me a reasonable quote online after I sent over some pictures of the damages. They were flexible with scheduling, I asked if I could drop it off on a Monday, so I could have it back by Friday. I dropped it off on Monday. The next day, I get a call from Mike letting me know that they were already finished, after only one day. He also said that the damage wasn't as bad as originally assumed, so he cut the quote in HALF. That's a level of honesty that can restore someone's faith in humanity. Mike's is such a great place. I had a dent in the left front bumper of my toyota camry. There was no real damage done, but it's my first car and it's a beautiful color so I wanted to get it fixed. Mike instantly knew what it was and how they would be able to fix it. He pulled the car in and within 15 minutes it was looking like new. I can't even tell there was a dent there. Great painting/body work but very sloppy attention to detail. Have a 2 foot rubber gasket/trim piece that was left uninstalled in my BMW engine compartment. Could have cost SERIOUS damage if it fell down into the serpentine belt. STILL cannot locate where it belongs after suggestions from Mike's. My car had damage from a large tree that dented the hood and scraped most of the panels. The hood was replaced with a factory hood, all badges and affected lenses were replaced, and the entire car was repainted. I am extremely impressed with the flawless paint job, the fit and finish of all panels, and final reassembly of the car. The finish is literally better than a new car finish. I had additional work performed, including powder coating of the rims and refinishing the front bumper, and again, the workmanship is excellent. Lastly, the professionalism of the team is A-1. They provided a detailed schedule that was achieved on time, they were always very helpful and courteous, and they contacted me periodically with updates throughout the process. I got clipped by a cab in NYC less than a month after buying a 3 year old BMW. It was heartbreaking considering the honeymoon with my new car had just started! After reading the Yelp reviews and lurking on BMW forums, I ended up at Mike's. Mike did an amazing job on my car. The paint match was flawless, and the car came back to me quite possibly looking better than when I bought it. These guys really care about cars and their customers, and I don't hesitate to give them 5 stars as they really went above and beyond and paid attention to the important details. As AC said, they really are committed to fixing things "correctly and completely" and Mike personally explained to me what parts he was going to use and why. They got the car back to me even sooner than I expected and the whole experience was completely painless. I have been to Mike's for body work on two separate occasions. Back in 2011, I had some minor damage on a panel on my BMW Z3. Based on a recommendation, I took the car to be repaired at Mike's. I wanted to make sure that the work was done right, and I was not disappointed. The end result was flawless. On a more recent occasion, I brought my Jetta in to fix some front bumper damage from hitting a stone. I had also brought it to two other auto body repair shops for quotes, both of which had told me that I would need a whole new bumper. Eric at Mike's assured me that he could make it look like new for about half the cost of replacing it. Once again, I was highly impressed with the result and was also relieved that I saved hundreds by bringing my car to Mike's rather than either of the other two shops. read more

Well it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in November when I got into an accident with front end damage to my car. I called the office(Eric) set up to drop the car off that Monday to have insurance take a look at it. Everyone was very professional and helpful. They set me up with a rental( through my insurance) kept me updated with their facebook page (pictures that showed the progress of the car). I got the car back in timely fashion and it came out better than when I picked it up brand new. Mike worked his magic on the car and can't be any happier with the final product. They actually fixed a factory defect with the hood and front bumper, so it looks better than new. I suggest Mikes to anyone looking for Auto body work. Mike runs a very honest business. I was looking for someone to install a new body kit and fog lights on my car and I wanted to make sure that the place I went to did it right. You want to make sure they follow instructions by the manufacturer, does it with a nice touch (using the right tools, applicants, etc), and puts it on straight and leveled. Mike understands all of this and treats your car as if it is his own. Before I ever walked in the door, I called from home to get a quote. Mike refused to give a quote until he looked at the parts and your car, which is a very good sign. Otherwise people make promises they can't keep. I emailed him the parts I am looking to install and how much I am paying for them. Mike immediately called the manufacturer to see if he can get the parts for even cheaper than I could and pass on the savings. It wasn't cheaper but the gesture I certainly appreciated. I brought the parts to his garage as soon as I got them and Mike and his crew went straight to work. They got me a discount for a rental car at Enterprise for one day. I hoped for a FREE rental but you can't have everything. I came back the next day to see the car and it was flawless. It has been 4-5 months since the service and my car has no problems (rust, electrical problems, everything still tightly attached). Everything good. With the labor all added up, it cost ALOT more than the Dealerships quoted me. However, I just can't trust a kid car mechanic at a dealership that just changes oil everyday to handle bodywork correctly. Aesthetics to a car is important to everybody and I'd have to live with it if they were to screw it up. Mike's knows his stuff having worked on autobody and building cars for most of his life. He builds porsches and races them! He and his veteran crew obviously knows his stuff! So glad I went to Mike's and will surely go back if I ever have any bodywork to do! Thanks Mike!!! read more

I came to Yelp as I typically do to find the safest bet for whatever I need. Mike's was the best rated in the area and thankfully was just a 20 minute walk away. I brought in my car which had been hit while being parked on the street by my house. No idea who did it, and because of that, my insurance company said it wasn't covered. EEP! Thankfully Mike understood my situation and worked with me to come up with the minimum # of repairs and parts necessary to get it safely drivable again and to take care of the biggest aesthetic issues. The car looks better than I thought it would; you wouldn't know it was hit unless you looked really closely. I'm really happy with his work. When I got my car back and drove to work, I noticed I had the sound of rushing air in the door when on the highway. I called Mike's and they said bring it over. He made adjustments right there and gave me a little jar of leftover color-matched paint so I could do some minor touchup stuff in the future. Nice touch! One thing you should know if your insurance company isn't covering your repairs is that they DON'T ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS! That's probably one of the reasons their rates are lower than a lot of other guys in the area. It's an inconvenience no doubt, and it may mean getting a bank loan if you have a huge repair, but it's cheaper for everyone in the end. Honest Car Repair Guy If you can believe it, I found an honest Guy to repair cars in Boston. Mike's Auto Body is the best. I just moved here from Florida and one of the worst things about moving to a new city/state is you lose your car guy. I went to several places to look at my girlfriend's car. She had a minor accident and needed some body work. I went to 3 places before Mike's always had that feeling that these guys were just looking to screw me. I went to Mike's and he was great. Price was far less than the other guys. He was open and honest about what needed to be done and what did not need to be done. I am not the type to write in these things, but these guys are great. I had a completely different experience at Mikes Auto Body. Mike and Samantha were so nice, and that was comforting because I had just put a scratch on the bumper of my fiancées new car. Mike explained how they would fix the scratch, and Samantha kept me informed on when to expect the car to be ready. It looked brand new after they fixed it, and I would recommend Mikes very highly. It's a Saturday afternoon with a snow storm looming. I can't get work done on my car during the week because of work, so I was determined to make it happen today. I'm new to the area, and had no references for mechanics or auto body technicians. I thought that, combined with my Missouri plates, would do me few favors in this search. I called Mike and he was the only person I'd called that said, "sure, come on in and I'll take a look". He charged me less than anyone else quoted me, despite the 'on the spot' demand. He went past the mirror replacement I came for by also repairing my loose door panel. Mike is a professional and competent guy who, from what I observed, cares a lot about what he does. *I don't feel like I can give a 5 star rating only because I haven't actually had any body work done here* Some nice person broke the driver's side mirror clean off my car one rainy night. After Honda quoted me nearly $200 for the piece of plastic that is my side mirror and an hours worth of 'labor' to reattach it, I decided I was better off on my own. I bought my own side mirror online and was left with only the mere dilemma of getting it back on my car. It was a Saturday and most shops were not able to squeeze me in. The ones that could wanted $40-$50 to do the work. I had heard good things about Mike's and decided to give them a call. Not only did Mike tell me to come right on down, but he popped the mirror on my car in just a few minutes and refused to take any money for such a quick and simple job. I finally forced him to at least take $10. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to reccomend Mike to others. Had a motorcycle hit my back corner but Mike's made it good as new. And along the way repaired some nicks and dents around the vehicle for no charge. I went in a few days ago after someone ran into my car with a bicycle. showed mike and he told me he could fix it for $100. after being quoted around $300 by other repair shops it was a no-brainer. he even took out other scratches I had free of charge. while i was at the shop I wanted to go to the gym, so I told mike i was going to rent a Zipcar to take me there and back. he tossed me the keys to his car and told me to save my money. as if this wasn't enough, when I went to pay him he dropped another $20 off my total. all in all I hope I don't HAVE to go back there, but if anything happens to my car I won't hesitate to return. Do you own a performance Porche or a sad photo of you and Jeff Gordon? You do? Great! This is your place! However, if you don't, and if you value yourself and your time, stay away! I went out of my way to go to Mike's Auto Body on a friend's recommendation. The repair work? No better or worse than others. The time the repair took? Inaccurate quote (took more than a half-week longer than quoted) and difficult to get answers once my car was in their hands. The customer service? Sucks. When I dropped my car off, I talked with Eileen about my repair and about getting a price quote for me on a tire pressure sensor since mine is faulty. She tried to look it up right then and couldn't find it, so she wrote a post-it note about it and stuck it on the front of my file. Great. So fast forward to the day AFTER my car is supposed to be ready, and I call to find out the status of the repair. Eileen tells me she can't say for certain but will call me back the next day. I ask about that mechanical part, and she says she'll look into it. Two days later, I call back to find out the status of my car (since she never called me as promised the day before), and she tells me it'll be ready in the next couple of days. I ask her again about the price on that mechanical part. She says she's not sure and says it's not necessary. I tell her I realize that but I'd like to know none-the-less because I've been quoted both $20 and $900 for this part and would like to know which it is. She says she'll look into it. A couple days later, I am finally able to pick up my car. Eileen isn't in, but Mike is. I pay for the repair and ask him about the part. He tells me it isn't necessary. I know. But how much is it? He has no idea. Says he hadn't heard about it until that point. I point to my paperwork on the "to shred" pile and point to the post-it note right on top. He says he'll look into it first thing Monday morning. That was a week ago. I called today to ask about the price on the stupid part. Mike answers the phone and initially tells me this is the first he's heard about my asking about this. Really? Dishonest or early onset Alzheimer's is what I am thinking. Anyway, he then rethinks this course of action and tries a new one. "We don't do mechanical work here." I am not asking you to do the work at this point; I just want to know the cost of the part. His response? He got rude with me. Ok then, I have no intention of bringing any further work to you - ever. And then he hung up on me. So if you'd like to drive to a totally inconvenient location, have your repair take longer than quoted, deal with radio silence on the status of the repair, and essentially get treated like something on the bottom of my dog walker's shoe because you don't have a performance Porche, this is your shop. However, if you have a shred of intelligence or self-respect, stay far, far away! read more

Let's start with the fact that my truck is my absolute baby, never sees any real offroading and is washed multiple times a week. I was hesitant to try out a new shop after I backed into a pole (it came out of nowhere I swear) I had a huge dent on the side of my bed so it would need to be fixed and repainted. One shop said it could not be fixed but Mike definitely took care of it. After a couple of days in his shop my baby was beautiful again (I have before and after shots below). Overall Mike ran what seemed to be an organization and clean shop and it seems like he actually cares about the cars coming out as perfect as can be rather than some sleepy shops just trying to pocket any extra cash they can all day. Since my bed I've already hit him up for a couple of small things (door hinge, and door moldings) and they came out excellent as well. Terrible customer service, never spoke with this so called Mike once.. Left my car there for a week to have some heavy scratches repaired they called me the day before I was due to pick it up to tell me they haven't touched or started work on it yet due to technicians being out sick(which was obviously a blatant lie) I know for a fact that had I been driving a Mercedes or wore a suit and tie I wouldn't have been treated as shitty as I was. So I told them to forget about doing the work and picked up my car because I was going on vacation, this so called Mike still didn't have the decency to offer me an apology in person even though he was there. I got some scratches from a rear door to bumper on my brand new Porsche.... Several of my colleagues who drive bimmers recommended this place and I soon realized this place is also well known for Porsche repair. When I brought my car, Sam took care of it and well explained what they are going to do. Although they had special rates for some models like Porsche and BMW M, those rates were acceptable. I love my car quite a bit; it's like my child. The last thing I want when I need work done is a body shop I need to babysit. I look for three basic things: 1 - Highest quality work 2 - Commitment to fixing things correctly & completely, regardless of pressure from insurance companies 3 - Good communication Mike's does all three. I had a relatively large repair done here about 20 months ago, and couldn't have been happier. The work was top-notch - the paint matched perfectly, and the car was mechanically flawless. Most cars are never the same after an accident; my car is as great as when I bought it. Recently I returned for an estimate on a much smaller repair, and Mike took the time to make sure his previous work was holding up & reiterated his commitment to fixing any future issues with his work.
