Had breakfast one morning while we were in town on a getaway. We were greeted walking in and told to sit where we liked. So we grabbed a table and our server brought us menus and asked if we would like some coffee. An older building, with high ceilings and a dark wooden interior with a full glass store front. After giving the menu a read over I opted for two eggs with bacon and toast. It was a decent enough breakfast, the eggs cooked correctly and the bacon was thick cut and cooked well. We're in town for 4 days and I'm so glad we came here! Ordered the french toast, ham, bell pepper, and onion omelette, Mickey Mouse pancakes, and a build your own omelette. The food tasted fresh and was decently priced. Being day 3 of our trip, I was so excited by how good the food tasted, that the family and I literally cleaned our plates. The service was good and the waiter was really friendly. I love the interior make over that the owner did to the place which made it feel refreshed and welcoming considering other places around town. Came here this morning to have brunch about 1030 it didn't seem overcrowded, but there were a few large tables. I got directed to sit wherever I wanted. I sat down and waited and waited and watched the server doing everything by herself. There was no busser no additional help and there was one chef in the kitchen. I sat there for 20 minutes with my friend, waiting for water and coffee, and was told that other people were getting their beverages first it was just not a good situation and I was surprised they need to staff the place better. With the server's attitude I could see why they were empty on a Sunday morning! She was rude and she acted put out when she asked for our drink order and we said we were ready to order food too. We were seated quickly and given menu's that had both breakfast and lunch items. I got an omelet with spinach, bacon, cheese and herbs. It came with a side of potato. Very good I would order it again. Other family members had omelet's too, one had ham, cheese, onions and the other had sausage and not sure the other ingredients. All three were huge and great. We are so glad Mikes moved to Lakeport. if you're a local or passing thru... this place is your go to spot reasonable prices. Fresh well prepared food. Very flavorful and the right amount of spices. Staff is very friendly and attentive to check on as you eat. You will also enjoy the decor and donated old lake county photos on the wall. I've had a 1/2 dozen different meals. it's a great place for breakfast or lunch. it's located on North main about 2 blocks from courthouse and two blocks from the lake and a nice park for families. read more

Probably a 3.5 Has a vintage styling, lots of photos showcasing Lakeport in the early days. Ceilings were high, the space was quite roomy and overall very quiet. Staff was personable and attentive. Excellent reviews, service wise included...maybe i set the bar higher than most but our waitress was intentionally rude. Upon arrival she asked that we wait until the table was cleaned; she was busy with a large party and the table looked perfectly fine so after standing there for several minutes i sat down. if this is what set her off she is in the wrong line of work. I have plenty of CSR experience so here's some advice to her: Apologize for the wait Spray the rag and wipe down the table DO NOT spray onto the table especially when a customers handbag is on the table. Be polite no matter how crappy your day is or your customer was/is. Check on your table, maybe refresh/refill their coffee/beverages! She displayed those servicing qualities to the large party nearby and even the latest arrivals so again, must have been something about us that irked her. Now the food, our dishes were so damn good I would almost be tempted to patronize the establishment again but there's a saying about first impressions being lasting ones. read more

Ok LOVE this place! We have been here twice & both times the service was super fast, very friendly & the food is PERFECTION! Super cute decor, great menu, we had the chiliquillas, veggie omelet & country Benedict & all were just so perfect! both times we couldn't even finish the portions are so big but we took our tasty leftovers for later! The staff seem to be having a great time & are very welcoming! Great for us stopping in on our occasional visits through town! We will definitely be back anytime we're there. I ordered all the meats on both; bacon, sausage, ham and linguica. ($1.95 extra for each extra meat I belive it was). You pick the meat/s and cheese. I got cheddar. Burritos are a heafty size, I will definitely not finish it in one sitting but I'm happy to have extra for later. First bite of mine was immediately delicious. I have no idea which meat I got a bite of first but it was a perfectly peppery, savory flavor. It honestly didn't even need the house salsa but I added it anyway to try, it was awesome. I accidentally deleted my photos, darn it! I will update when I go back. My father and I went to breakfast while he was visiting. We were seated right away but some kinks were being sorted with our server, who was training. The coffee was hot and they had a nice tea assortment as well. We ordered the eggs benny and veggie omelette. Here is the downfall...we waited 45-50 mins for our food and there were only three other tables besides us. We did ask what the wait was and to be fair, there seemed to be a lot of training going on. Once we did get our plates, the food was excellent. The hollandaise tasted handmade and my eggs were poached perfectly . My father said his omelette was well stuffed with veggies and his toast was actually toasted. The environment was welcoming but our table was a bit cramped and very close to another for no apparent reason. My friendly critiques are to check in with your table when the kitchen is running behind, separate your tables a bit so your customers are not trying to slide into their chair while avoiding bumping the table behind them when there are multiple other tables available. Had an excellent breakfast this morning. I did an omelette made to order with mushrooms green chili peppers and onions. Plus they just gave me a slice of French toast for fun. My son had a BLT that he loved, and the potato salad had rosemary in it. Excellent food. Also had an omelette number five with zucchini sausage and green chili. That was good too. It's my favorite restaurant for breakfast or lunch, which they did dinner but they don't but I hope they do hint hint. I only have two suggestions the first one is change your chairs they hurt. Country breakfast at its best. It's a bit hard to find since it's nestled next to a pharmacy. Fantastic homemade corned beef hash. Not too salty but vey flavorful. You also get home fries and toast. The sourdough toast is awesome. They have cute Salt and pepper shakers that are unique to each table and customers give it to them. The omelet was fantastic and the ingredients are very fresh. Hands down the best breakfast spot on the lake! Today I went for the French dip and it was by far the best I've ever had. Juicy, fresh, and loaded with grilled onions. This particular sandwich comes with tomato's on it as well, however, I omitted that today! My husband tried one bite and here we are hrs later and He said he's craving a French dip from there.
