Our photographer recommended this place to get wedding photos printed here as they have the best quality. We went in today and this place was BUSY. It was cool to see so many people ordering prints and getting things for their cameras here. Joseph and Oliver helped us out. They were both very nice and quite knowledgeable. This is your old fashioned camera store with very good counter service. Prompt, knowledgable, but unfortunately unable to provide the part needed for an older Sony camera. We do have the part number now, and perhaps can get it directly from Sony. We do not live in Menlo Park but are often in the area for family and medical. Downtown Menlo Park is so delightful. Free parking, walkable, and lovely stores and restaurants. The small, locally owned businesses are just great. read more

Mark is so helpful! I received excellent service for my first ever camera. I picked up the Fujifilm XM5 and he helped me set up the lens and taught me how to attach and detach it, same with the SD card and battery! He also demonstrated how to clean and care for the camera and explained everything so thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand for a beginner (me, haha). I needed a 11x14 copy of taken with film a 4x6 print in 1999,. Initially scanned the 4x6, at home.Took a lot of post processing to correct color, etc and enlarge to 11x14. Initial print at Mikes had lots of digital noise. Justin,the print guru at the Menlo Park store, asked me to bring in the 4x6 print so he could scan it . Fortunately I was able to find the original negative ( one good thing about being a packrat). Justin was able to make a HD scan of the negative, do some processing and print a beautiful 11x14 image - I couldn't be happier. Great service from a very knowledgeable and talented printer - something you don't always find in a local store I have entered many prints made here in photo contests - win or lose- the judge usually mentions they were high quality prints. Problem often with my composition - not the print. On average need 1-3 prints a month for competition, more if having exhibit. Will continue to get them from Mike's Camera Menlo Park read more

Mike's Camera lost my camera. I dropped off my Nikon D850 camera body for a sensor cleaning last Monday. The person receiving the camera said they were not super busy so it would take only one to two days to finish cleaning. Fast forward to Friday. No phone calls, no status, nothing. I called them up, and asked for a status, and the person on the phone has no idea what I'm talking about. Not only did they not have a status on my camera, they didn't acknowledge that they had my camera at all. I told them I had a receipt with an itemized description, and they still couldn't locate it. They said they would search for it and call me back later that day. They did not call me back. I called again in the evening. Someone else got my call, and they said the camera would be ready the next day. They haven't even started working on it. I picked up the camera on Saturday, though it did take them more than a few minutes to find it. I told them what happened and how it was not OK to lose my camera for four days, and I got an apology, but the person also took the opportunity to blame the cleaning tech and threw them under the bus, which I thought was quite unprofessional. Having said that, they did do a great job cleaning the sensor and the rest of the camera. But I missed an event I wanted to shoot on Friday night because they misplaced it. I don't think I'll trust them with another camera again. read more

I went to Mikes to specifically have a 40-50 year old roll of film developed. I've had this roll from my father's antique camera, which I tried to have developed about 20 years ago. It was near impossible to find a film developer to help me with this roll. Mikes Camera (Menlo Park), was my latest contact which they said they were able to attempt the developing, but there wouldn't be any guarantees because of the age of the film. Mikes had me, "Pre Pay" & after a week, I made contact to check the status &, they informed me that they weren't able to save the photos because of exposure problems. I asked if I would be reimbursed my payment, due to not being able to receive what I paid for & after a couple of minutes, was, credited back onto my credit card !! Mikes is a CREDIBLE Establishment & I give them, 5 ' s !!!!! read more

Went in to drop off one color film roll for dev&scan. Paid 30 on high res scans. The shop feels legit. Somehow they have 10 employees working and the one who helped me was keen on getting me to sign up to their member benefits. Received the online scans and was totally unhappy with prominent green coloring evident of a bad scan and weak control of color, and scan framing. Almost rushed. Reached out in hopes to get an email back from the 'very busy' employees on this matter for about 1 week.. No response. Went in to get my negatives and am leaving this rating. Maybe they got bigger customers to take well care of with bigger orders. And no, the film was not expired. read more

I've officially decided to stop doing business with Mike's Camera, despite being a loyal customer for years. In December, I purchased a camera backpack and later went in to return it within the stated return period. At the front desk, I was told that returns were not allowed because it was purchased during the holiday season even though this restriction was never clearly disclosed at the time of purchase and the item was still within the return window. **Mind you the bag was brand new with tags*** This experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially considering how much business I've given this store. In 2025 alone, I purchased: * Sony FX3 * Sony 70-200mm GM II * Sony 50mm f/1.2 And in 2024, I also purchased two Sony A7 IV bodies. That level of loyalty should come with transparency and respect not surprise policies enforced after the fact. Unfortunately, this experience showed me that customer service and accountability are no longer a priority here. I'm a film + digital photographer, and this is exactly the kind of store you want in your corner--knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely excited about helping you get the most out of your gear. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and actually took the time to answer my questions, not just rush me through. They definitely know their stuff, but they also don't make you feel intimidated or talked down to (which happens a LOT in camera stores). Absolutely outstanding customer service. I have an old Sony SLR digital camera, that I hadn't used in some time. I used it, but somehow the settings for raw, jpg, etc., got completely scattered, along with losing the auto focus. Upon arrival, Matt directed me to an Asian gentleman, that was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I've been meaning to visit a Mike's Camera location as my photography colleagues highly recommended it. The store entrance is quite narrow but opens up near the cashier area. I came to get my first completed films developed. Mark was the kind staff that helped me. There was a hiccup with my online account setup and he was calm in helping me go through the in-store registration process. He was also very knowledgeable and answered my additional newbie film photographer questions. Through his information, I also ended up buying color and B&W films.
