Truly mom and pop shop. American style cafe-diner , hole in the wall, local neighborhood brunch spot. Service: Service was awesome. Very cherry and happy servers always means great service. 5/5 customer service Ambiance: Small humble space with classic home feel cafe / diner decor- very clean and very well upkeep. Such care and details is very much appreciated: 5/5 Food: Country fried steak: home style taste smother and cover with gravy on a Good size country fried steak . Side of wheat toast with good amount of butter on it. Crispy hash browns and my sunny side eggs were cooked perfectly. Just tastes like home cooked; hearty and delicious. Farmer's breakfast: Scrambled eggs with diced ham, side of pancake , hashed browns . All deliciously taste lime home made. Can feel the love they put in the food. Overall : food is clean and simple: equals delicious deliciousness Service reminds me of the list art of local diners- friendly, witty and vibrant. Drinks: Raspberry tea: taste generically good, awesome and refreshing Green hot: Typical good jasmine green tea. Nothing to complain

First time here. Very friendly. I ordered the country-fried steak with eggs, sourdough bread and some hash browns. Delicious! Note on neighborhood cafes: If you don't have one in your area, that is sad. It's nice to have a friendly, familiar place to eat breakfast. This a good example. Corner Cafe is a comfortable, friendly place to eat. Recommended.

Soggy hash browns and rubbery eggs

When this restaurant was Mick's Corner Cafe, I always finished my meal. I'm not sure when the name/owner change happened but I have to say I am sorely disappointed. My over medium eggs were cooked completely through. The bacon was paper thin. The whites of my eggs were rubbery, I couldn't eat them. The hash browns were so soggy and saturated in oil I had to spit them out. Nobody ever asked how my meal was. The guy ringing people out was unfriendly. Very sad to lose a go to breakfast place. I guess they got the toast right though. Not worth giving a second chance.

Service was friendly and quick! Food was good tasting and good portions. Ordered Biscuits and Gravy and the gravy was just the right consistency! Clean and small community feel!

Mom with her new do! Looking sexy!

Excellent place to eat, had to get through some traffic on the road going to it but it is well worth the trouble.

Food 5/5: I got the grandmas house latte and an everything bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. The latte was well blended and overall very smooth. Service 5/5: overall the staff was efficient and friendly Ambiance 5/5: the vaulted ceilings yet cozy aesthetic makes this place very visually pleasing. Plenty of space and tables, but hard to find a table when busy. Overall I had a great experience and will be back! A great option for a local coffee and pastry/bagel breakfast.

The service was wonderful! Everyone was so nice! When my boyfriend tried his drink, it just didn't taste right (iced vanilla latte with 4 shots of espresso) They remade it and were very apologetic! The drinks: I got an iced grandmas house with oat milk! There is no up charge for oatmilk! My wallet and stomach appreciated that! The flavor was really good! Unfortunately even with the remake, there seemed to be something off about my boyfriend's drink... I asked for them to take the vanilla out, thinking maybe be it was the syrup. But it just wasn't good. We were also hoping to get the pizza that was there but they only had slices, not a full pie. It was disappointing. Overall this is a nice coffee shop

If I describe the environment as being half of the lobby of a new suburban apartment complex, that doesn't do justice to how pleasant it is. Homey, quiet, clean, intentionally designed. When the apartment people give tours to prospective tenants, my confident assumption is that they DEFINITELY show off this area and it probably convinces people to move to this building. The baristas are serious coffee nerds, rightly proud of their single-origin sourcing from farms in Honduras, Costa Rica, and Colombia. My iced vanilla latte tasted great; the mild sweetness from their house-made vanilla was perfect. My friend got a pourover that he loved; he stayed there for about an hour doing some work and was impressed by how long that container stayed warm. If you're arriving by car, there is street parking around the building, but there is also the option of going into the building's garage. They confirmed to me that the ground-level parking spaces are available to customers during their open hours. Also, this is right across the street from the Helmo Ave. station on the new Gold Line. If you're taking that route before 4pm, consider hopping off for one of their impressive coffees!

I managed to snag the LAST cinnamon roll! I am taking the fact it was the last in to account. It wasn't the freshest - and an outside corner piece - so it was a bit dry and hard. However, it turns out the roll is just an easy way to get the frosting in your face. Omg. Delicious, buttery amazing frosting. (Which they did frost at the time of purchase). The place is small but they have an upstairs as well as a nice garden patios.

It also came with perfectly done scrambled eggs and toast. I got a unique latte as well; I asked the barista for her favorite and wound up with a raspberry & dark chocolate latte that had a surprising shock of bitterness. It was great. You will probably really like the ambience. It appears to have been built out of a lovely Victorian home in Dayton's Bluff, and there is plenty of upstairs seating including cute tables on the landings. There is also a very green patio. Friendly service tops it all off nicely. Their only not-open day is Tuesday, so bear that in mind. There is neighborhood street parking which you may have to hunt around a bit for. I really think you'll enjoy hanging out here!

I liked how the egg salad and cucumbers balanced out the butteriness and crispiness of the croissant! It was a very filling lunch. I came with my sister and we both got different teas. She enjoyed her hojicha tea with a bit of syrup added. I really liked the Po cha / Tibetan tea which was a buttery milky tea. It definitely woke me up. :) I would recommend if you are someone who likes not too sweet, nutty, and not too bitter teas. We both enjoyed the Tibetan momos -- the meat filling ones are definitely soupier which was enjoyable. The veggie dumplings tasted better with more of the chili crisp oil. The mochi ice cream most likely used the ones from MyMochi packs but the cream was nice to have and it was a fun sweet treat! Definitely would come back with family or friends when visiting the cities again. Drinks we got at the front where we ordered but they brought food for us which was nice since we decided to stay in to eat lunch. Seems like it's a nice place to study and work and they have WiFi. The place is nicely decorated with Tibetan decor and plaques talking about the history/background which was cool. There is also better lighting / lamps along the walls if you're studying and need it.

I also loved the individual task lights above the smaller tables. It's a small detail, but it made the space feel really thoughtful. The only downside is that there isn't much natural light, so the cafe can feel a little dark, especially toward the back. The staff was the biggest disappointment. They weren't rude, but they came across as pretty standoffish, which made the experience feel less welcoming than the space itself. I ordered the light roast coffee and, unfortunately, it was pretty terrible. That said, the menu is huge with lots of different drinks and food options, so I'm sure there's something on it that would be a much better choice. I also didn't try any of the pastries, but they looked absolutely massive and definitely caught my attention. Overall, I really wanted to like this place more. The atmosphere is great and it seems like an excellent spot to work or relax for a while, but the coffee and less than welcoming service left me a little underwhelmed. I'd be willing to give it another shot and try something different from the menu.
