This place has a lot of potential but missed the mark. They sell themselves as having 75 beers but that is not the case. The tap had run dry on numerous beers I wanted to try (at least 10). When asked what they had on tap the answer was "Bud Light and Blue Moon". I didn't go to Mike's for Bud Light, I wanted to try craft beers. On the bright side the pretzel and cheese sauce is amazing. I was finally able to get into Mike's today for some lunch. Oh my goodness, the food was to die for!! Absolutely amazing! You can tell the cook really puts his heart and soul into the food. A little birdie told me that all of the food was homemade and you can definitely tell- it comes out in the quality and freshness of the food. The portion sizes were great as well. The service was absolutely amazing also! Our server was Camiel. She was kind, personable and very attentive to our needs. The owner, JP, also came out to greet us and I think that just made our visit that much better! He was very respectful and wanted to make sure our visit was great- it was exceptional!! Friendly atmosphere, great food and drinks. Out of towner here who will definitely be stopping in on my next trip to O'Fallon.

Will never go back here again, the owner is rude and completely unappreciative of his patrons.

The server was extremely rude when I inquired about gf options. She said "I don't know anything about allergies" and left. She came back 5 min later to take our order and I told her I needed to know what I could eat since the menu isn't marked. She responded with " I already told you I don't know." Being new to the area we were looking for delicious food and great craft beers. Bingo!!!!!! We have been here 3 times and EVERY time the food, beer and service has been nothing but enjoyable. Short rib sliders, Santa Fe salad and portobella mushroom sandwich were all winners for me. read more

I stopped in to Mike's Grill and Tap with my wife and neightbors after hearing they had a great beer selection. We were seated quickly but told we would have the servers attention after a couple of other tables left (odd, but ok). Ten minutes later our drink order was taken. We received our beers and ordered a couple of appetizers (loaded chips and chicken wings). Only the chips came out and when we asked about the wings, the server told us she didn't hear us order them, which seemed odd since she had asked if we wanted ranch or bleu cheese and if we wanted hot or mild. Again...ok. Not a big deal - she must have just forgot. We ordered our entrees, and when they arrived, my wife's order was wrong (she ordered her burger with cheese and no tomato and her salad with no tomato or onion - the burger had no cheese but still had tomato, and the salad had both tomato and onion). We eventually were able to get the attention of another server who was very apologetic and assured us the food would be remade properly. A man we assumed to be the cook came out to deliver the salad a few minutes later and told my wife to "put the white sh*t on the green sh*t and make sure it's right". He seemed like he had been drinking, but at that point, we just laughed it off as an odd occurence that would make for a good story. The same man brought out my wife's burger a few minutes later and proceeded to pull up a chair and sit uncomfortably close to her while she made sure it was correct. He told us he had been told by the servers he had "apparently fu*cked this up and I want to make sure you're happy now". After she took a bite and said everything was fine, he told her to take another bite because "those first bites can be tricky". It seemed pretty condescending, but we thought that since he was drunk, it was just a weird joke and tried to brush it off. He asked us what we had been doing that day, and we made a joke from the movie Old School about going to Home Depot but not making it to Bed, Bath, & Beyond because we just didn't have time. My neighbor made a joke that we'd still have time if the burger had been right - again, we thought he was drunk and joking around, so we were trying to play along. It was a harmless joke that he only made because the man had said the servers had been giving him trouble about messing the order up. No harm was meant by it. My neighbor stood up to get something out of his pocket, and the cook asked him to sit down so he could say something. When my neighbor sat down, the man said "first off, fu*k you for your comment and s*ck my d*ck". We were in complete shock. My neighbor stood up and told the man he was out of line and needed to leave our table immediatly. More words were exchanged about how inappropriate the cook's behavior was, and my neighbor went outside to cool off while his wife apologized to nearby tables and went up to the bar to explain the situation to the servers. At this point, the cook followed my neighbor outside. I followed him outside to make sure the situation didn't escalate and told the cook to go back inside, that we were unbelievably offended by his behavior and that he needed to not keep pressing the issue with my neighbor. A server came outisde (the same one who had been so understanding about the order being wrong), apologized profusely, and assured us our tab was taken care of and we owed nothing. We cannot say enough nice things about this particular server, who seemed to be the only one who took any sort of charge in the situation. After getting home, I called up to the bar to get the name of the cook and to find out when the owner would be in so I could call and speak to him. I was told that there was not a cook who fit the description I gave and that they didn't know when the owner would be back in. After discovering the bar's contact email address contained the owner's name, I was able to find that the man who we thought was just a cook was, in fact, the owner. I honestly can't imagine having a worse experience at a restaurant. None of our food was made correctly (overdone burgers, goat cheese instead of swiss) and the service was lackluster at best. The behavior of the owner was completely inexcusable. We will certainly never return and will make sure to spread the word about how this business is run. read more

Been here several times and the food is consistently good. I've tried it all and lean more toward burgers and sandwiches than the entrees. The fries and sweet potato fries are excellent. There is a large, rotating selection of draft beer and always a couple that I've not tried before. The staff has always been friendly and helpful with suggestions or opinions on the beers, as most of them have actually taken the time to try them and will let you know what they like or don't care for. They will also do growler fills but I haven't had one filled here, yet, so I don't know how their pricing runs for that. As far as pricing for food and drink, fairly consistent with other, similar places - meaning that you should expect to drop $35 to $40 for a couple burgers and beers. read more

The Garlic Mozza Bruschetta is a great option for an appetizer; the ingredients are all fresh and incredibly flavorful. They have a fantastic selection of craft beer on tap. Great staff and wine experience. I was actually with a large group and the nail salon next door when one of the group walked over to grab a few sodas. Once ordered she was told that the bartender would just bring the food and drinks over to us at the salon and they did a few minutes later! I was really surprised and it was a treat to have a couple of 'drinks' brought to us and the bottle of wine as well whilst getting our nails done. I can't believe how nice they were about it. We had our first visit here the other day and will surely be back. Loved the small quant atmosphere. Better was the quality craft beer selection. The food is a bit unique from regular bar and grill food. A little more on price than expected but was not dissapointed. The service from Nicole made the experience even better. Who lists a salted caramel brownie ala mode on their menu and then serves it without ice cream? When I showed the server the menu, he said, "oh yeah... I know it says that but we don't have ice cream." Whaaaaaat??? He didn't apologize or offer a discount for omitting the ice cream. Steak sandwich was good- three pigs sandwich- not so much. Sweet potato fries were good. Super shoe string fries- not so much. Service was poor. Might go back for the steak sandwich but not much else. Disappointed :( read more

Very misleading to see that this place had 4 stars. Beers that are listed on their website aren't available. They don't have a list of their bottles/cans so didn't even know what the options were unless we got on the website. Burger was definitely a patty had been frozen for a long time. Grilled cheese was very greasy. Interior was an environment that appeared that it was unfinished because of random booth backs just being stuck in a corner. Really empty for a Friday night but for how slow service was and how much it cost for 2 meals and 2 beers I'm not surprised. Won't be back. read more

Ordered the ginger lettuce wraps which was described as having grilled pork belly. It came with bacon. I know that technically bacon is pork belly but that is ridiculously misleading. $11 for 4 lettuce leaves, 2 slices of bacon and some red cabbage! What a ripoff. read more

BAD EXPERIENCE! We will not be returning... bad food, and not worth the cost. Couldn't be more disappointed at this place. Left us with stomach aches. Not sure if it was the food that made our stomach hurt or the horrible service we may have had. Funniest part of our experience is we asked for ketchup and it took about 10 minutes for our server to go over to another table to grab (their) ketchup then run to the back of the restaurant and then turn back around and bring us the ketchup we obviously saw her take off another's table! read more

I have been here a few times now and every time I leave completely satisfied. Every dish I have tried has been awesome. My favorite so far is the pulled pork. I have been both with and without kids. I took my 17 yr old and my 11 yr old and both found dishes they wanted to try and liked. Kuddos to Mike and his staff. read more
