It was later in the day, so it wasn't busy at all which was nice. The girl taking our order was super friendly and apologized for not having mini cones and only dishes, and we were totally fine with that. I tried the cinnamon custard, and it wasn't for me. I decided to try something different, but it reminded me of cinnamon gum a lot. But it was okay since it was just a mini!

I finally was able to catch him a week ago at my friend's house and then a few days ago at my house. Mister Softee is one of the best original food trucks. He comes to your house to bring you delicious ice cream! The prices are low and you get the convenience of walking out your front door to get ice cream. Not all Mister Softee's are priced the same though. The Mister Softee who comes down my street is a quarter less than the Mister Softee that goes down my friend's street (who lives 2 miles away). The ice cream even tastes good! I just wish I could have a better idea of when he's coming!

The sauces are all homemade and in my opinion, they're really the star of the show. If you want to go all out you can get the "king's portion" double scoop sundae, but I appreciate that they also serve single scoop "queen's portions" for a slightly lower cost. The staff are always friendly and efficient, willing to make modifications so that you can craft the ice cream of your dreams. Worth noting is the very silly water station near the front door. Condrell's has always served tiny glasses of water, which is now offered in Dixie cups that you fill yourself. If you're trying to stay super hydrated these baby sized cups aren't going to meet your needs, but I have come to expect them and think they add to the charm of the venue.

Chocolate, coconut, cashews, and marshmallow are another stellar result of their kitchen. The person behind the counter was friendly and efficient - a great match for the establishment itself. I was visiting people that live in the Elmwood neighborhood, and I envy them having a place like Watson's within walking distance of their home.

To my horror there were only two "dry ice" bags. One was completely empty. The other had torn open and the contents soaked into a couple of boxes of chocolates. Those boxes were gift-wrapped, but the liquid ruined (warped) the boxes and the wrapping paper. I let Watson's know. Their response was pretty much "Hey, if the chocolate is ok, it's your problem. That's the risk of buying chocolate over the summer". And the ironic thing is I wasn't expecting them to refund any money or replace the chocolate. Well, he started eating it & then I tried it & there were definitely no strawberries. Tonight, I got a banana split & it was sooooo small. Much smaller than the DQ on Kenmore makes them. (Which is my favorite location). That one WAS closest to me before I moved in September. Now the one on Elmwood is a 5 minute walk, so it makes sense to go there, but it's not that great there. If u come to this DQ, WATCH THEM make your sundae/blizzard, etc. say something to them or they'll just keep screwing it up.

I already like this one 50x more then the one on Harlem thanks to having 2 lines and not just a "order here" and "pick up" line that just doesn't work. The staff was super quick to make the ice cream we all ordered and did a great job with all of them. My Oreo blizzard was way bigger then I anticipated but it was totally delicious and hit the spot.
