I have been a loyal customer of Bruneau's for many years, previously giving them 5 stars... However…read moreas of the past year or so things have drastically changed and they have lost a customer in me. I brought my Lexus to them a few months ago telling them that the a;/c blows heat and I need it fixed. They called me back to tell me that my car has many zones that need to be checked and that at paying them an hourly rate I'd be looking at thousands/ told me the car is older and not worth spending that kind of money on repairing it. They charged me a diagnoses fee and gave me back my car without fixing it. After searching the problem myself on google, I replaced the cabin filter( filthy with dirt and leaves),popped the hood and cleared the vents for air flow( loaded with packed dirt and leaves), and I put in a can of refrigerant.. With me spending less than $100 I completely restored my a/c in less than 10min.. That repair showed me they ever even attempted to fix it. I brought the Lexus back to them and told them the front driver side has a shake that needed fixed. They called me back to tell me that my car has 4codes, a bad exhaust test and that I needed a strut of which they could only find 1 at a cost of $1000/that my car is older (2009) and not worth spending money on. They gave me back my car and charged me $131 diagnoses fee.I then took it to a mechanic on State st New Haven, who for $1000 fixed my front end and threw in a oil change... The crazy part was I DIDN'T NEED STRUTS!!!! Meaning they charged me for a wrong diagnoses. Aside from I replaced the the 2 air filter under the hood, and what do you kmow... NO MORE CODES!!!! I also brought my BMW X5 there for repair/ was going into limp mode. After 3 visits and $100's spent replacing everything they took a guess at, I never got 2 miles of driving after any repair. I explained the problem to the State St mechanic and without ever seeing my truck he told me my problem was the throttle body. Less than $400 later the truck is driving again full force.I brought my moms Jeep Liberty there to fix the heat... 2 Weeks later, no heat.. I sent my sister there with engine problems on her Hyundai Sonata, they told her the repairs would cost more than the value of the car, and that it wasn't worth fixing. She took it to State st where the mechanic put in a new engine and had her on the road in a couple days for a fraction on the cost.. I've learned that they don't actually check the issues that caused me to bring my vehicles at all as much as they run diagnostics and not fix anything. Really no way to treat a customer that has supported this business as long as I have

Not only is she professional, but she is also a genuinely kind person. She helped my mom navigate the process of trading in her car for a newer one, and everything went smoothly and efficiently. Omar was also excellent. He ensured that the entire operation ran seamlessly and took the time to double-check that my mom wasn't charged taxes she didn't need to pay. We truly appreciate his attention to detail and integrity. Overall, we are very satisfied with the service Michelle provided. Thank you, Michelle and Omar, for making this such a positive experience.

It wasn't a big deal for me, as I could've used this is a haggling point. When I mentioned this fact to Arnauld, he told me that it wasn't bought at auction, despite me looking at the same vehicle with the same VIN on the auction archive website, sold by the insurance company as a total loss. If they are going to lie about this, what else would they lie to customers about? Like I said, I didn't even find this to be a big deal, however the fact that I had the evidence to show that it was a total loss vehicle bought at auction and was lied to over the phone in regards to the origins of the vehicle ensured that I will never buy a vehicle from them, and encourage all others to do their research on the vehicle, especially the VIN of the one they are looking to purchase, before ever trusting what they say. I'd also not trust their Google reviews, as a lot of them seem to be fraudulent reviews that aren't associated to real customers. Given their inventory and the amount of time that cars sit on their lot, it is quite suspicious that they have apparently "sold" over 60 cars in the past 6 months.

The car was in excellent condition & had been dealer maintained with only one owner. Great find ! I called & spoke with Brian & later Joe. This past Friday, I decided to go there & check it out. I test drove the car, it ran well, no major problems. The vehicle's condition was as advertised. The staff & owner were very pleasant & easy to deal with. They have some beautiful cars in their showroom. They also have motorcycles, including a very nice Harley (black with silver chrome) in the garage. Saw many different makes of car, ranging from affordable daily drivers to Porsche 911's. Nice selection but not snobbish at all. They were very helpful in terms of making the purchase easy, if I decide to buy the car (still considering it). While I was waiting for the Car Fax report, another customer called in looking for a sports car. I got the impression that he was a longtime customer. They chatted like they were friends. Very laid back & pleasant experience.

We were were kind of cautious about buying a used car as we usually buy new cars and were wary of what we would find in the used market. Unlike some other used car dealers, Village does not have "phantom" vehicles on its website that "were just sold" or a high pressure "make a deposit now!" Approach. All their cars are dealer trade ins and everything he told me about the vehicle checked out. He also went the extra mile to prep the car ahead of schedule for our pick up. Additionally, he noticed the emissions were coming up for inspection and had them done for us while our dog accompanied him! Quality, upfront, personable and I would definitely do business with Joe again!

So people from this location call me from car sales and when I kindly thank them for their offered services but I already have a dealership and lender, the man on the phone starts harrassing me with "oh, so what, you've already put a deposit on a car or?" and when I say yes to quickly end the conversation, he says "OK boss whatever you want". Talk about representing sterotypical car sales people to the letter. I've never been talked to like that.. On a 9 AM work-day phone call! I will never dream of using these people services and will advise others to avoid their disrespectful way of running a business. I've had far better luck dealing with Premier Subaru in Branford.

When we decided on the car we liked, Nancy ran the numbers for us and gave us a full breakdown of prices & options to choose from . She never made us feel pressured into buying a car, but simply supplied us with the info. Enterprise took care of everything. Did I mention quick walked in @ 10 am was out the door by 11:45 with a new car ,registration & plates . Doesn't get better than that ! :) We will definitely recommend this place to others! A big thank you to Nancy for your help ... You are simply the best .
