I was in Norfolk for the week and in need of some pizza. Read the reviews and was excited to try it out. Staff was very friendly and it showed that they took pride in the business. Ordered a 12" bacon pizza and it was really good. Only complaint was that cheese slid off almost every slice as I was eating. Mike's has some fantastic Pizza. Some of the best I think in the area. They are great for lunch and a good place to stop in. Sandwiches are great as are the salads. You will get plenty for your $$$. It is a not a fast food because the service is very slow and overpriced. The quality is just not there. I ordered a gyro with salad. The meat was dry. I am not sure what happened comparing to other review. Maybe my standard is too high. Since everything is fast food in the area, this family owned business might be other option. Stopped in on Thursday night, little concerned not from Virginia. Very surprised, the staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had just arrived in the area & server made several phone calls to answer some local questions we had. Ordered a large pizza & chef salad, the pizza was very good. Lots of toppings & cheese. The crust wasn't fancy just very good soft & crunchy, perfect! The chef salad was huge filled with lots of onions, peppers, cheese & meats. I finished the salad 2 days later & it was still fresh. The workers go above and beyond. I wanted a pizza burger. Which is on most pizza place menus where I'm from but a little difficult to find here. The lady taking my order heard me talking to my husband about what I wanted and he accommodated me and make it exactly how I wanted it. I took a bite of my husbands gyro and fell in love. That's what I'm getting the next time! I tried the tiramisu and my husband tried the cheesecake, both amazing. We will be returning for the friendly service and great food! read more

Eh. IDK where to even begin. One of my coworkers loves this spot so I decided to try it. I got a Chicken Philly Sub and a piece of carrot cake. It was $14. Now, I have absolutely no problem paying for quality food (please see all my food reviews) but this food was below mediocre. My sub was dry and bland. I had to slather it in mayo and salt. Then my carrot cake was still half frozen even though they boast that they make all of their desserts by hand. NOT TRUE. What restaurant have you heard of that makes their own desserts and then serves them half frozen. Utter disappointment. For the past 12 years I have frequently been on or near Hampton Blvd and have never been to Mike's Pizza. That was until my boss took me there for lunch a couple years back. Wow, I couldn't believe this nice family run joint was right under my nose the whole time! I was in the area during lunch time today (a Friday) and called in an order for 2 pies (mushroom/pepperoni & sausage/jalapeno). Called it in @ 1030 for an 1100 pick up. I showed up a few minutes early and had to wait for the pies to finish in the oven but that's what happens when you show up early sometimes. So I show up to the office with 2 pies and the boss is thrilled because he loves their pizza and didn't know I was treating the group to lunch. The four of us dove in and the mushroom/pepperoni was almost gone within the first 2 minutes. The sausage/jalapeno didn't go as fast because everyone was a little tentative at first. The jalapeno's they use are pickled but still have quite a bit of bite in them (in a good way) and the amount on the pizza was pretty generous compared to what other pizza joints give you. Everyone was very satisfied. You could do a lot worse as far as pizza goes in Hampton Roads. Unfortunately I can only comment on the pizza since everytime I go to Mike's I end up getting pizza. Hopefully one day I will try one of their subs or gyros, I hear they are pretty dope. I'm not saying it is the only pizza place I will go to but if i'm in the area and in the mood for pizza I will hit up Mike's. read more

Ordered a large cheese with mushroom pizza, and it was pretty good. I thought the crust was a little too full of air-I like when it's a little more chewy, and the sauce was a little spicy, but not in a bad way, just different than the typical marinara-type pizza sauce. It was edible, but I'll probably try another pizza restaurant next time. read more

Family-own restaurant, small hole in wall environment, so don't expect a fancy place. I usually order the gyro (lamb and beef), a small Greek salad and for dessert, Tiramisu. The meat is already sliced to prepare, so don't expect to see a huge rotisserie behind the counter. The salad is okay, typical salad with iceberg lettuce, onions, peppers, feta cheese, olive and balsamic vinaigrette. The tiramisu was delicious, maybe because it was tiramisu. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, it was satisfying and the price is very reasonable. It is really busy during lunch hours on the weekday and the parking is very limited. A must try in the Hampton roads area, especially if you're craving an authentic gyro. read more

I havent tried anything but the Philly which is REALLY good. They serve pan style pizza which isnt what I favor in that but Ive heard from many its great. Its expensive food at the same time when it comes to service. There is no wait staff, you pick up your food at the counter, you have to scrape your own plate and there are no free refills which in my opinion makes the food too expensive for a do everything yourself eatery. Its kind of annoying at the same time. They also do not accept AMEX cards (barely anybody in Hampton Roads do). What is annoying is that they wont deliver to the Naval base either. I understand you have to pay for yearly passes to get on there but come on! They are missing out on a lot of business. Their stubbornness in many ways is what really hurts them. read more

There is no pizza in the world that is greater than mikes!!! The food is to die for, especially the pizza and the cheese breadsticks are amazing!! The margherita pizza is out of this world. The service has always been top notch each time I have been and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming!!! I LOVE mikes pizza SO much.
