Stopped in for a quick bite late afternoon and it didn't disappoint! My husband and I both ordered the $5 2 slice pizza and drink deal, and these days that is a great deal, more of a steal! This place is overpriced. They charge a "customer service fee" on top of your bill of 4% extra. The portion sizes are so small. For a very skinny, very small shawarma wrap, they charged $18.75. The chef flatly refused to make a sausage pizza for the special, telling me I could only choose between pepperoni or Meat Lovers. At first, I was skeptical about this place. Barely anyone on the street and there's like no customers in the restaurant. I just didn't feel it for this place. Surprisingly, I actually like their food! They were yummy and pretty authentic with the shish kabob and shawarma. I love them! But I didn't try their pizza. Oh I'm a fan! This was my first visit and I already know I will be a full on, devoted FAN now. I tend to be a falafel snob. Most restaurants don't know how to get it right. Sadly, all the falafel I have had was dry once you got past the outer fried part. Five Boroughs is the exception. My falafel on a pita was full of flavor and it didn't have that dry, mushy thing going on. One bite of that sandwich (and might I suggest you order it with the "spicy" option) made me a fan! My husband had lamb shawarma and he said everything on the platter was superb. The hummus is so smooth (like good hummus should be!) We shall return!! read more

Other posts had large chunks of chicken, whereas I got mostly rice and crumbly bits of chicken. The pizza is consistently good. Mediterranean items can be hit or miss. During my most recent visit I opted to try the lamb with hummus and pita along with the tabbouleh which is a favorite salad of mine. The hummus was excellent and the lamb chunks were sizable. I'm glad I decided to give the lamb another try after trying the lamb shawarma wrap which had finely minced lamb and not enough vegetables. The texture wasn't pleasing on the wrap as it mostly felt like mush in the mouth. I did not enjoy the wrap and would avoid ordering any of their wraps again. To say the taboulleh was disappointing would be an understatement. What they serve here is NOT taboulleh and I would recommend they remove it from their menu if they have no intention of making it properly. What I received was oily chopped iceberg lettuce with barely any tomato (unripe) and a sprinkling of black pepper and lemon. There were no cucumbers or scallions, mint nor parsley - no crunch no texture no flavor! The price on their taboulleh is insulting for what they actually provide which was a last minute throwing together of subpar low quality ingredients that cost pennies to prepare. 5 Boroughs should be ashamed to serve this item and I have no doubt the employees would not eat this themselves nor pay the ridiculous cost for what is mostly iceberg lettuce. I was really intrigued when I saw pizza & Mediterranean as the categories, and I'm so glad we gave it a try. The hummus was delicious, the meat was wonderfully seasoned. Ordered pizza , vegi platter, and order of baklava ( which was described as two pieces). Food was okay. Cold. Veggie platter came with a side order of cold french fries. I called because I didn't understand this and because the baklava was one tiny piece.-1"x1" no kidding that's small. I have had baklava many times in many states but have never seen an order of baklava so small. The gentleman who answered the phone when I called explained to me that the fries came with the veggie platter and that that's what their baklava order was one small piece and that he didn't realize his menu online listed it as a two piece serving. He tried to explain to me how it's so sweet that most people don't want a bigger piece than that he said that maybe next time we came in, he would give me a piece. He didn't really specify anything else but was very vague. We've ordered from five boroughs before and the food was very good. My husband really liked it so I thought I would give it another try tonight. After spending $57 plus for a pizza a veggie plate and a 1 in.² of baklava, I don't think this is worth the money. I would definitely try another place. We will not be ordering from them again too much money to pay for very mediocre food. read more

This place doesn't have much of a curve appeal, but the food is pretty good. Tried the wrap with chicken, and a pita with lamb. Also had their hummus with pita bread and it was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was authentic to The Mediterranean or the Middle East, but still tasty. Although, practice caution when ordering because even though the food doesn't seem too expensive it adds up with the add ons, and the taxes and fees they have here were ridiculous...about $6 just in different service fees/taxes. I paid almost $50 for a pita meal, a wrap meal each with a snapple as a drink, and the hummus with pita. Was surprised at how down to Earth and friendly the staff tasted us. We were welcomed right away when walked through the door. We weren't rushed to order and was provided a menu to look over and return to register counter upon our final decision on what to order. You'll find great prices, variety of options, and a mixture of Mediterranean and American choices from the menu. The ambiance had a NY presence with the decor, yet was spacious and clean. The food was delicious and had a ton of flavor with large portions. We ordered hummus, chicken platters, individual chicken and beef kebabs, hot dog, and a slice of pizza. You know it's a NY pizza if it's a large slice and cheese doesn't fall off when vertical. Wish the location was closet to home; otherwise we'd visit more often. I waited until my second visit before I decided to leave a review. The first visit I had was interesting and quite surprising. They are located on the far end of High Street right where the development stops and the dilapidation starts. I'm actually happy they're located there so hopefully more businesses will start to build onto High Street. Having said that when you walk in you don't realize how big this place is. Nice high ceilings. They really fix this place up nice.. As far as the food goes they have a wide variety of food and everything that I've eaten has been pretty good. I get the falafel platter with the hummus, now they do have the best hummus in the area but they give you a small cup of old rice that they microwave right before serving.
