For me, it was a big hike up to the north side- but totally worth the haul! I grew up in the Midwest, occasionally going to one or two German restaurant/ clubs, so this was not an unfamiliar atmosphere to me. It is definitely a "seasoned" vibe, having immediately taken over the space by a former western bar/beer hall that had been in existence for 50+ years. Their menu says "German and Hungarian" but all I read was German. They have a solid European beer selection, including taps and bottles and some cocktails with a German twist. The one that threw me for a loop (in the best way) was Kriek! So ofc I got a pint. We shared a (fairly large) pretzel to start, which comes with beer cheese. Tasty, but I was genuinely shocked there was no mustard. I ordered the jagerschnitzel (pork) and just overall the meal was as expected as if I was in the Midwest - amazing, delicious, insert chef's kiss. I wish I could have joined the clean plate club. The cucumber salad was flavorful and not too sour/pickley. My friend and I both noted how umami the savory sauce was- not too bacon, not too mushroom. The potatoes were not too salty or under-seasoned. Literally willing to drive up again if/when someone tells me to go. It wasn't horribly busy so it didn't take forever to order and get everything we needed. Our server was super nice and patient. She even gave a bar suggestion that ended up being a nice cherry for the top of the evening.

The pizza crust is so crispy without even a touch of the bottom being burnt. We will definitely be back!

The hostess was very friendly and led us back to the community table near the bar. Our server/bartender was busy at the bar and taking orders. No smile, a no- nonsense personality which is fine, just not friendly at all. My husband and friend decided to do beer flights. They enjoyed except for one of the beers they said had no flavor. I opted for a Tito's dirty martini which is my favorite drink. They enjoyed the beer flights but unfortunately when my martini was delivered, I swore the glass hadn't been properly washed as it had a sweet, coffee taste. I let our server know and she immediately took it and said she would make another which was great. I did see her grab a new glass. Unfortunately the new martini tasted exactly the same. Almost like a terrible espresso martini with olive juice. It was not drinkable. Either she didn't know how to make a dirty martini or the olive juice or vermouth went bad. I couldn't stomach the drink and felt nauseous so left it. We ordered a Chef's Board. Cheese selections, plus pepperoni, salami, prosciutto, mixed nuts & fruits, olives and fig jam. They missed the nuts, fruit and olives. The meat and cheese were good but it was a basic board. We should have ordered the pizza instead as everyone around us had a pizza and it smelled delicious. Our first visit was not the best experience, however, we may give it another try and check out the pizza instead.

What really stood out was the customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. You can tell they actually care about the experience. On top of that, the place was super clean from the tables to the restrooms--which honestly makes a huge difference. Great vibes, great food, great service. I'll definitely be back.

There were only a few other customers initially, got a little busier 30 minutes later. The restaurant had a relaxed mood, great place for watch sports. Most tables you can see multiple TVs with different games. High ceilings and an open feel. We tried a couple samples and name a selection. Two selected the Oh Jay IPA and I had the Coast to Coast IPA. Both were great! Two has the Lisa's Chicken sandwich, one had the pulled Smoked pulled pork sandwich and I had the Black and Blue salad. All the food was flavorful and fresh tasting. Great crunch on the beer batter chicken. Pulled pork had a nice rich flavor. The brisket on my salad was tender and flavorful although I would have preferred rarer, some red or pink. Service seemed a bit slow although not a concern on this occasion. Good place to watch a game and enjoy a few beers! Recommend!

Our waitress was very attentive to our needs with refills, to go boxes etc. Great job to the team there. I just found out that OHSO is building another location by our home in Verrado. Hopefully this is true, as we will be regular visitors.
