Truly, one of my favorite sushi places in all of Pinellas County. We have been coming here for years and it is always consistently excellent. Such friendly service and the sushi chefs knock it out of the park every time. Lots of other great treats like shumai and Gyoza. They also offer Bento boxes and teriyaki and a lot of other things as well that would be delicious. Nice happy hour specials too. This visit we had some of our favorites the Mexican roll, the Green Dragon roll, Peppered. Tuna roll and the rare but wonderful treat of Toro on sushi rice. If you've never had Toro, it is the most buttery and clean tasting tuna you'll ever taste. I'm so glad our super nice server recommended it. It's not always available, but if it is definitely worth ordering. So grateful to have such wonderful food so close to home. read more

Can't wait to return. Salmon nigiri was FRESH and moist. Smaller piece of rice than some other restaurants, but price point is lower, too. I love the Pokki Tuna appetizer, which I requested with the sauce only on the side. The sauce is extremely tasty but quite spicy, so I will always request it on the side so I can use very little. My pokki came with cucumber slices, not onions, and I like that. Macadamia nuts were a welcome topping. I love the salad dressing they served on the side of my avocado salad. I even used some of it with my pokki appetizer. They gave plenty of tasty, fresh avocado but not so much greens or any other vegetable. Excellent service and easy parking in strip mall. read more

My husband and I enjoyed this little spot. The fish on our sushi rolls were in perfect portions and sliced nicely and was tasty. They don't have an overwhelming specialty sushi menu like some places. Which can make it complicated to decide. They keep it clean & seem to really focus on the raw fish. The chef's specialty rolls we got were the Angel Roll & Monster Roll. Along with a classic Rainbow Roll. The Angel Roll was my favorite. With rating my experience as a whole-The only reasons I give it 4 stars was the presentation of the rolls given to us. The sushi chef just handed it to us without saying anything. I like to know what the exact rolls are. So I had to ask. I am an avid sushi goer. I rate by how welcomed I am by the chefs at the sushi bar along with the sushi itself. Some establishments they greet us with an "on the house" little app. I guess I've been spoiled & I'm being particular at this point. My family and I ordered fulĺ meals for all. A variety of sushi, salad and a soup. We're particular, so the sushi (Nigiri) would have included 8 orders of shrimp, 16 tuna, 8 octopus and a variety of rolls (Tampa, Mexican, cucumber, etc.) We've been going to Mike's for lunch for a long time and never had any issue. Mike's was our "go to". This evening was different. My soup had some odd veggie in it that was plastic feeling and not so good. I ate it up and 30 mins I was violently ill...for 5 days. Decided to try this one since I have seen it on my commute to home. It just opened and the place was empty. I liked the quiet as I could focus. Ordered the Pokki Tuna and a Kirin Ichiban to start. They provided a pencil so I assumed that I mark the quantity and selection I wanted. My waiter was a young man who I assumed was a family member or friend. The Pokki Tuna is a good starter as the tuna was fresh and the cucumber had a refreshing taste. Here is my platter with spicy tuna, eel, and more. The Happy Tuna I ordered was a novelty selection for me from the chef's menu. It was fried which I didn't read. Going to fast. It was enjoyable but I would not get it again. The Mikes Volcano lacked the fire a roll of that name should have, and was kind of mush. The little tiny salad before the meal was a nice touch, and service was fast and friendly. I recently moved to Florida and have been on the hunt for a great sushi spot. I went to Sunset beach near this sushi restaurant so I treated myself to dinner here on New Year's eve after the beach. It wasn't very busy when I first arrived but people slowly began trickling in. I noticed immediately that a lot of the people arriving all knew the sushi chefs by name and clearly were regulars. I sat at the bar by myself and ordered a small Sake, yellow tail sashimi, Escola sashimi, edamame and the Crazy roll. I finished every last bite and crumb, lol. The fish was definitely great quality and the service was prompt. They do have happy hour specials (rolls and appetizers) I know it ends at 7pm but I don't remember the start time. Had a moving a away dinner for a family last week and was glad to be shown this place before they left. I'm a big fan of how the inside was designed. It was definitely a sushi bar from the inside and out. We ordered a lot of different rolls so it's hard for me to say what I liked the most, but I can definitely say that there wasn't a piece a didn't like. It's also hard for me to dislike sushi when it comes on a boat. We also ordered sake during happy hour. I still don't think there's such thing as a bad happy hour and I'd like to keep believing so. What a nice traditional Japanese restaurant. There is a lot of seating on the long sushi bar, as well as semi-private booths and stand alone tables. Service was kind, helpful, and cheerful. Even though the restaurant has bar in its name, it is kid friendly. The food was excellent. The maki rolls had just the correct about of rice and the fish was fresh and thoughtfully cut and prepared. I didn't have a chance to try the sake, but I did have some green tea, and was pleasantly surprised that it was actually loose green tea and not in a bag.
