Checked this spot out and it was fantastic! Plenty of parking since it's in a strip mall. I ordered the Causeway Crunch roll and the Rockstar roll. The Causeway Crunch had krab mix, shrimp, cream cheese cooked tempura style. It is topped with krab Rangoon melt, spicy mayo, and sweet chili. The Rockstar roll is lobster meat, cream cheese, and asparagus. It is topped with Wagyu, seared to order. It is finished with crispy leeks and shallots, seahorse aioli, scallions, and eel sauce. I swapped the asparagus out for avocado. For dessert we ordered the strawberry cheesecake tempura roll. Very interesting and good! Both were phenomenal! Everything was flavorful and fresh. Loved the menu and options. Service was fantastic! Only issue was the lack of seating options. There was the sushi bar, with plenty of chairs. But there were only I think 3 high top tables with no back to the chairs. The high top tables are unfortunately not friendly for those who certain disabilities. This cute little gem was tucked away within the plaza closest to honeymoon island. My 2 friends and I decided to try it out for "girls night" due to the great reviews. When you walk in there's maybe 20 seats with the centerpiece of the restaurant being a large bar that showcased the amazing sushi chef and decent sized aquarium in the background. We sat down at the bar and were greeted immediately by the server. We told her it was our first time here. She suggested the honeymoon roll, which my friend ordered and looked amazing!!! Everything was very fresh and tasty. We even ordered dessert which consisted of a strawberry cheesecake roll which was AMAZING. They also have a beer/sake menu. It wasn't extensive but it got the job done. Based on the service alone I would come back. We went on a Monday and the place filled up very quick, our server was fabulous and personal. So happy to finally have a sushi place on this side of town! We walked in and were immediately greeted by every staff member. Everything is freshly renovated and clean. The menu has some great options on it. I highly recommend the edamame with the garlic and ginger sauce for an appetizer. We sat at the bar so we got to see the sushi chef make our rolls right in front of us, which was pretty cool to watch. The rolls were both delicious, and you could tell they use fresh ingredients. We are snow birds that live around the corner from Sea Whip. Neighbors had said that a fellow neighbor was the owner (definitely support local!) and it was good. Well that sounds like a winning combination, except my partner doesn't like sushi (boo). I finally made it here, when he was away on business, and yes Seawhip is awesome. Don't let the more spartan digs scare you away. Yes decorating could be better, but we've just been through hurricanes and half the businesses in Causeway Plaza are gonezo. Fish is good, and I really enjoyed the sashimi the most, but there are definitely many roll choices that could be customized to one's heart content. One knock is that my partner's son was not a fan of the saki as he cited it as non premium. I think with time and more business, Seawhip will have more premium offerings and more extensive menu offerings like non sushi choices (another knock against the place).
