The food is consistent much more professional atmosphere then the other restaurant the family owns. Everyone speaks English infront of patrons no yelling or fighting during service. I recommend the sweet potato roll it's large deep fried and fufila the craving for sweet and salty with a crunch! The miso soup is amazing. Seaweed salad is always fresh crunchy seasoned well and barbecued squid is excellent as well..highly recommend spicy ramin and or udon yaki .. I often get take-out bowls from here. They are mostly good. Sometimes I order a sushi roll and Ive noticed the shrimp tempura inside the rolls are cold meaning the tempura isn't made fresh to order, which is a disappointment. I have always loved this sushi place. The sushi is delicious. They have so many different specialty rolls and classic rolls as well. The staff is very nice and friendly. The sushi never takes too long to make. Sometimes when I place an order, it is ready in as little as 10 to 15 minutes. They expanded the inside of the restaurant, so there is more seating. This Sushi place was unusual for us. We ordered the chicken satay to start with, and I would never order that it again. The chicken was so overcooked and dry, it was almost inedible. It looked good though. Then when looking at the menu, I honestly couldn't find a Sushi roll and neither could Ben that we wanted so we both went with getting a make your own Sushi Burrito. Normally finding a roll is not an issue, especially for Ben. I did like the different options that you can pick and choose from when creating your own roll from sauces, veggies, proteins, wrap type, etc and we both order completely different types. I was very pleased with mine and since it is a burrito, it was too big for me to finish and I was going to take the rest home. BUT, still getting use to having to ensure your mask is on prior to getting up from your seat, I got distracted and left it on the table. :( So, we may not be back for traditional Sushi, but I am pretty sure we will be back for a Sushi Burrito. read more

The flavor of the sushi is good but there is way too much rice and their prices are very expensive. I have been going here since Charlie the original owner opened over 25 years ago and the quality is never consistant , sometimes really good and sometimes sucks depending who is makig the rice and rolling the sushi. That is not acceptable so I will most likely never be back. read more

What in the HECK has happened to this place???!! Haven't been here in a while....but seriously!! Came after work cause I needed sushi.... it was a loooong day. Upon entering, the place smelled like..... a mens' toilet. I don't know why...so wrong!!! Second bad sign...cheap chop sticks....the kind you have to rub together so you don't get splinters in your lips....haven't seen them in years...and cheap, creepy non paper napkin. The menu is carefully crafted in an 8 point helvetica narrow....so bring not only your glasses, but a magnifying glass. There's a black tray in front of me... that has deep edges....and no purpose. Nothing fits on it...not the wooden sushi plate...and the small dirty white dish you get to eat on, so I try to put my wooden sushi plate on the bar's edge... but it's too small...so eventually...it'll fall onto the large bar....if you ordered enough sushi. But it's stone! My octopus salad is cool and delicious. My "whatever roll".....was served with NOTHING ....on a dirty bamboo board....and each piece fell apart as I tried to remain ladylike eating sushi splashing into my soy sauce dish in front of me. Lastly, I ordered clam sashimi. Whoa.... no one here knows what surf clam sashimi is... it came out warm...and slightly scored. Both sides in tact...impossible to chew through...and warm. It's been nuked! Just plain awful. I don't know who bought this place.... but it's not for actual sushi aficionados. Service was very good! Sorry to the servers. BEWARE - They charge you more than the prices reflect on the menu. We went for dinner and had high hopes for this place. They are open late with decent prices and selections so hoping to love it. We ordered sake, Thai spring rolls and chicken yakitori for an app. The spring rolls were good and the yakitori was just ok. Then ordered sushi rolls and a sushi bowl. The sushi was pretty good, portion sizes were small but flavorful however they skimp on ingredients. The scallop roll was supposed to have avocado but seriously there was a fingernail sized sliver of avocado in three of the six pieces, the others had none. The sushi bowl came out wrong, we sent it back as the server said he brought the wrong one. The second bowl had items in it we didn't order like raw onions which weren't even an option on the menu. Third bowl was correct but just not that great. Their portion ratios are all off. The server brings the check and I notice the prices on everything were higher than on the menu. I asked the server if we were charged more than the menu price and he said "yes, sorry". Apparently they hiked their prices but didn't change the menu or bother to tell people. WTH!! That's shady business and we will never return. I'll stick with BG Robata for sushi if we are in that area. read more

My family has been going here for sushi for over a decade. From its smaller location when it was called Kaiko until now, this sushi joint has grown a lot of the years. I was skeptical when I heard that my favorite sushi spot was undergoing new ownership but found that nothing has changed in the transition besides the absence of Charlie as he is off traveling the world now! Our only complaint: they packaged the spicy tuna rolls, cucumber roll, and tekku roll all in one container and the super crunchy roll in a separate container, so trying to divvy the rolls up between the 4 people eating them made it a bit harder than if they were in their own packages. We have ordered from here (delivery, never been in the restaurant) a few times. We ordered again tonight and the food was SO good. We also had krab rangoon, which was delicious and they had a lot of filling in them. The spicy scallop roll is one of my favorites and we get it every time. It's the perfect amount of spice. This was the first time we ordered the hangover roll and it was definitely worth it. It's filled with tuna and topped with even more tuna, and it tasted very fresh and wasn't fishy at all. 10/10! The California roll was good, the avocado was nice and creamy. The nigiri was good as well. The salmon tasted very fresh, no weird fishy taste. The fish was cut quite thick so we ended up taking it off the rice since it was just too much for a mouthful, but very very good. I have also ordered the spicy tuna roll in the past, which is also very yummy. I've never had anything I didn't like here! Before delivery and service fees, our total was a little over $50 which is pricey for a meal but I think the quality is worth it. We are stuffed! read more

Mai tais need some work but not many people in Fla sit at a bar and enjoy mai tais as many northerners do. Main problem with this establishment is the funky smell as you enter .
