Oh my goodness! DELICIOUSNESS! Stopped in for a burger and fries and they didn't disappoint! YUM! Scarfed it down so fast- it was so good! I got the single 1/4lb burger with the deluxe toppings and cheese with a side of curly fries! My friend got the grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and pickles and the peanut butter soft serve. It was all so good!! Can't wait to go back and try more ice cream options! You can drive up and be helped at your window or go in and eat. Both are great options. Alright, so maybe I'm weird but Mikey's was the first actual drive-in restaurant I've ever been to! Normally, this isn't a place that would show up on our list of places to visit. If there's one place I can't stand eating it's in the car. But since we were invited we might as well come check it out. Once you get there if you haven't been to a drive-in before just park in one of the spots. Eventually someone will come by with some menus and you'll place your order. They'll come back with a tray that sits on your window, and then you'll eat (we had a burger and curly fries that were solid) and that's that. And that's why I gave Mikey's a 3-star instead of a 4-star. It's too efficient! Maybe it's just me but I was expecting a little more. Maybe roller skates? (Half-serious) Or maybe it's just the format of the operation. I'm sure it a really fun for kids! But for me it just feels like going through a drive through and then eating in the parking lot of a restaurant. The food would have to be out of this world. I definitely recommend checking out Mikey's despite the "only" 3-star review, particularly if you have kids or you can snag one of the (I think) 2 large picnic tables outside on a nice day. It's just hard for me to enjoy the overall experience but that may not be a Mikey's thing. read more

We got off US 31 specifically to try this place- thanks to Yelpers for recommending it!!! I had burger and fries. My hamburger was fabulous--nice grilled flavor and the best one I've had in years. Fries were nice and crispy. Companion had a cheeseburger and rated it highly ("classic!") and the other had pulled pork sandwich which they said was regular but very good and just what they wanted. The restaurant has seats inside or carhop service, but we opted to eat outside at the picnic tables. The server took our order efficiently and brought out our food. My husband stopped by here for some food earlier today. He got the double quarter pounder cheese burger with double bacon and curley fries. I ordered a corn dog and a lemonade. My husband and I loved our food, but my husband did note that this is one of those places that it is best super fresh as it was clear it wouldn't taste as good reheated later. I can definitely see myself asking to come back to try a tasty ice cream treat or a burger for myself. I did try one of my husband's curly fries and I loved it. This is just a little bit away from Weko. We were headed home and wanted to feed the kiddos. The waitress (bellhop?) Came out and took our orders and was super friendly. We came up here just wanting to hit a new drive in. This place is pretty darn good! Tight parking, and was a bit surprised there were not the menu boards at the parking spots. No trouble though, as our server brought us one in short order. Just honest to goodness, no frills drive in fare. Which is all that it needs to be. I had a bacon cheeseburger, and ordered a ripper (fried hot dog), which is not a menu item. No problem at all with that request. Wife had the pork tenderloin sandwich. Damn good. We also split some fried zucchini. Not bad. Couple that with some fantastic root beer, and it was definitely worth our 45 minute or so drive to get here. We had just finished taking our dog swimming at Warren Dunes State Park and were HUNGRY. Found this drive in and decided to go since we could just eat in the car with our boy. Parked in the drive in and was greeted by a polite young woman. (I should really learn to get people's names!) We let her know that we have never been here before, so she gave us time to pick out what we wanted while she got our drinks. She even offered to get a bowl water for our dog! I ordered the hamburger, fries, and small strawberry shake while my boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake. The food did not take long to be made. I had to roll my window up just a little so the tray could sit on the window. The burger was good. There was no salt on the fries - such a great thing to do - I which more companies did that! They do supply you with salt and ketchup, so don't worry. And, the shake was mighty tasty. I kept craving to go back over the next couple days while were in town. I regret not going back. What an amazing discovery for us along Red Arrow Highway! The place is for sure vintage, but the grounds, building and everything are clean and well maintained. The service was super fast, and they were busy!!! Our carhop server was friendly, offered recommendations, and was attentive to our needs the entire visit. She recommended the burger, so my wife and I both had the burger baskets. The fries are the skinny type, clearly fried in clean oil and were crispy and perfect. The burger is just what you would hope for at the drive-in, juicy, just greasy enough, and delicious. The kids had cheese fries, chicken tenders, and a hot dog. So good! I came here with my mom and two kids after a day at the Dunes. Mom used to be a car hop back in the day and really wanted to come check this place out and reminisce. We all four got burgers and they were perfect! Juicy. Hot. Delicious. Tasted like homemade. Those three got fries and liked them but I got the mushrooms and thought they were great. Our Waitress was just as sweet as can be and we got our food very quickly. It was a really fun experience having our food put on the window even though it started pouring down rain shortly after we got there. The olive burger was great, made to order. and while I suspect the fries were frozen, the seasoned curly fries were good. I didn't enjoy an ice cream treat with my meal, but they did have the standard soft-serve with toppings and several "Blizzard" flavors. This would be the perfect roadside stop with kids; hot dogs, sloppy joe, chicken bites, and the usual small burger joint options rounded out the menu. I spotted Mikey's while getting gas across the street and stopped in later that day when returning from adventures to the north. I remember A&W drive ins from childhood so was excited to take a journey back in time... We pulled into a spot under the canopy where my friend and I were greeted immediately by a lovely young (masked) woman who brought us menus and took our orders. Being somewhat a connoisseur of pork tenderloins, I opted for the basket, which included fries and coleslaw. My dining partner chose the olive burger basket and we topped it off with 2 large frosty mug root beers.... While sipping our ice cold root beers and waiting for the food to arrive, we noticed the hilarious slogan on the back of the car hop's tshirt that said "Come as you are... Eat in your car!" Much laughter ensued and we even inquired about buying one, but sadly, they were out of the one I wanted. Our food arrived shortly and was consumed with great enthusiasm. The coleslaw was delicious, the fries crispy & well seasoned and the tenderloin was exactly what I wanted it to be. This place is awesome, although it was not open the last time I went. I'm not sure if they have strange hours or are seasonal, or what. I ate here a couple times while on lunch break from working at the Cook plant. It's a classic drive-in, with a solid menu selection and great food. The girl working the counter was very friendly. Food came out quickly and was better than it had to be. I got fried chicken, fries, and a coke for like $7-$8. You can't get out of even Wendy's anymore for under $6, and Mikey's is on a different plane of existence than any fast food joint. Highly recommend, just make sure they're open. read more
