Located this restaurant for our first stop of a long weekend up the Lake Michigan. We desired a pet friend patio to kill time until our room was ready on nearby St. Joseph. This restaurant was good and popular. We had the patio almost to ourselves but there was another pup family dining. Our server Alana was so friendly. Alana was good about checking in on us and making recommendations. For food, I got the ribs. They did not disappoint. Not too fatty and I enjoyed the sauce. The French fries were crisp and paired well with my cider. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in trying some good food that is smoked right on sight. I like that this establishment advertised an array of entertainment to accompany their wonder food. Every plate that I saw come out looked good. I even the salad looked full of fresh ingredients.

Right in the heart of the beach town Union Pier is a cozy restaurant that was the perfect spot for our family and friends. I did not expect to see such a diverse cocktail menu, so when I saw they had a "Banana Foster" Martini, I had to have it (oh boy was it tasty ). Plenty of kids menu options, and I ended up having the Shepherd's Pie which was delicious. I had bites of my sister's Mushroom Burger and my Dad's SW Cobb salad which was also phenomenal. Service was friendly and prompt.

    Fun bar vibe :)

We had a great first-time experience at Union Pier Social -- service, food and vibe was all top-notch! While in our favorite vacation area, New Buffalo, we were looking for a 'new to us' place that gets positive reviews and so we landed here. So glad we did because we plan to make Union Pier Social a regular stop on future trips. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! Everything we ordered was 100% delicious: French Kiss cocktail, Burrata starter (we loved it!), Meatball Grinder and Fish & Chips. Their house-made tartar sauce was so yummy and they were nice enough to give me another serving of it for my leftovers. We also ordered a bowl of chili to go which we really enjoyed a day or two later. We look forward to returning for not only the food, but also for their entertainment offerings -- we were told bingo night (Tues) is very popular!

This was a mixed bag. The interior is nice and the staff is friendly. They have happy hour all day on Sundays. I really liked the chicken wings. The buffalo sauce is on the spicy side and the bbq sauce is sweet. The red pepper bisque was good but needed a little salt and pepper. They do carry a beer I like from RI, where I used to live. I did not like the cheese curds. Instead of regular batter, the coating is like greasy bread. The pot roast and gravy was salty and the quality was iffy. Potatoes and carrots were fine. I would not get these two things again. I might give this place another try because of the happy hour deals.

Had dinner here after a beach day and got seated right away no wait, which was nice. Our server, Amy, was super friendly and helpful. Ribs were perfectly smoky and tender, and both the burger and mac and cheese were hits. Tried to convince my daughter to add brisket to the mac, but no luck. Too full for dessert. Would definitely come back!

Union Social version of cheese curds..delicious.

The place did not look open on a very slow fall Friday afternoon. I'd imagine in summer months they would be slammed at this time. It's a nice space and has really quaint outdoor area patio. Even with being on Red Arrow it is pretty quiet. Our server was prompt and friendly. We shared some curds to start. The execution was very different as they came in cubes. They were lightly crisped outside and creamy inside. Very different than typical but delicious. My son enjoyed his kids personal pizza. Their burgers are all smash burger style which has become a favorite of ours lately. I had the shroom burger. The wilted arugula gave a distinct and different flavor that added to the overall taste...it was quite good. My wife had the Union burger which came with bacon jam and crispy bacon. If you like bacon this is the burger for you. Fries were crispy and salted well. Would definitely come back and try some other things. The Guinness stew and Ahi Street Tacos seemed to be really popular.

We came near close, our waitress was nice and attentive. I had the caramel apple cider and the Union Burger. We got the acorn squash donuts as an appetizer. The food was all delicious and came out quickly! The acorn squash was something i'de never tried before, not my absolute favorite but still very good! Restaurant is clean and inviting. Lots of tables!

They also provide an estimate on wait-time for coffee and food based on level of orders currently placed. We were given a buzzer and advised that our name would be called for both coffee and food. The bourbon vanilla Madagascar latte was delicious, I loved that the coffee flavor was not overpowered by homemade coffee syrup. The paninis were delicious and very filling! I looked around and noticed that we have to pick up our plate and drop off our plate and there's a section on the back right side of the restaurant where you have to take your dirty plate after you're done. Anthony was the one taking everyone's order. I'm the only one taking everyone's order in the front. It's best to find a table once you're there and then get in line to order The food was OK. I wish my chorizo Panini had more chorizo and that my gluten-free bread wasn't to burn or maybe because it was gluten-free. It looked a little burnt. I didn't enjoy the Uber cold drink a lot

We grabbed a beer and a glass of wine at the bar while we waited. The atmosphere is one of my favorite things about this restaurant. It's open, welcoming, and full of personality. I loved all of the dog photos throughout the restaurant and their "Sit. Stay. Eat!" theme, it gives the place such a fun, relaxed vibe. The menu is awesome, I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything sounded so good. We started with the truffle fries and they were incredible. For my entrée, I chose the grilled red snapper tacos, they were delicious. The fresh pineapple salsa paired perfectly with the fish, and I especially loved the pickled red cabbage on top. The snapper was grilled perfect. My husband and daughter shared the grilled shrimp po'boy which turned out to be a great decision because it's a generous-sized sandwich. They both liked the Cajun remoulade sauce and the soft telera roll it was served on. They also ordered a side of onion rings. My son enjoyed the cheeseburger from the kids menu. Our server was friendly and attentive. The Stray Dog has great food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service. It's easy to see why it's such a popular spot. I really enjoyed my lox bagel and thought it was one of the best I've had!! The flavors were nicely balanced with the onion, capers, cream cheese and lox. Big overstuffed bagels that fall apart while you eat them - lox sliding all over the place - are really annoying. These were satisfying without making you feel gross after. The coffee selection exceeded our expectations. We shared a chemex for 2. They had a few single origin coffees to choose from and we had their pink bourbon Columbian. We were driving back home and would enter new buffalo in about an hour, according to Maps. Hit a snag with road construction, looked like we would arrive about twenty minutes after my reservation time, called the restaurant to see if i could update my reservation and was told if i arrived more than fifteen minutes past my time, they would " try to accommodate " me. Well imagine my surprise when we arrived ten minutes past and there were at least six empty tables inside and more outside? Why not change my reservation then? We were greeted promptly by our friendly snd animated server who helped us with a description of the concept and the menu items, and some very strange looking water glasses. We both ordered the chicken skewer with mango chutney. Chicken skewer was fine but just a tiny dish of chutney. I did ask for and received more. (Still more empty tables, btw). The breaded fries came in a large shareable bowl for $10. Left somewhat disappointed by the stress of the reservation issue and somewhat overpriced menu items. Still better than other restaurant choices we have had there.
