I tried the "Duxelle and Sausage" pizza and honestly I was pretty disappointed. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but the mushrooms were overpowering and made the whole pizza soggy. The sausage didn't really stand out, and the toppings kept sliding off every slice. My biggest complaint though is that I really wish it came with a lid for the sauce so I could take it home. Other people received lids for the hot sauce. So I'm not entirely sure what's going on. For the price, I expected a lot better quality and presentation. read more

We always make it a point to stop at Haymarket when we're in town and have loved our experiences, just as we do with the Chicago location. Unfortunately, we had an issue with our Chopped Salad order. As shown in the pictures, it looked nothing like the description on their website and lacked several ingredients (roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, etc.). When we called to let them know we had received the wrong salad, the woman on the phone was shockingly rude and hostile. Instead of addressing the issue, she insisted it was the correct salad, despite the clear discrepancy. That being said, the rest of our food--the meatball appetizer, the Bad Dragon, and the Pepperoni/Sausage pizza--was excellent. First time there. Surprised at the quality of the pizza. SW Mich. doesn't have enough good pie. Beer was also better than expected. Outdoor beer garden is SO CUTE! Firepits, sweet indoor area, big bar. Perfect brewery vibe. Vincent was so fabulous recommending beers and saving my 6 pack in the fridge while we were finishing up! Cool place from the look of it but they need better management for their staff, at least they did when I went. You couldn't really call what we got service as they were just standing around chatting with each other and not doing much for the customers or to keep the place up. Also when we went we noticed they were out of a ton of stuff, which was odd since it was peak summer season. It looked like other people were having a good time, so maybe if you go in with limited expectations and excited to spend cash it'll be a different experience. I wish our visit was better. read more

The honey ale here is good. Chopped salad and Caesar salad were just ok. Seems like a bagged mix, not the best lettuce. The dill ranch is on the thin side but the flavor is good. Caesar dressing was ok. Peanut and shallot dressings were ok but not something I would feel a need to try again. I will stop in to try the pizzas sometime. Service is friendly. Visited this taproom after a beach day, they were having a car show which was really cool. They had a lot of parking. All of the staff were really nice, accommodating, and stayed busy cleaning and tending to guests. I got the vegan pizza which was delicious, my fiancé got the cubs themed beer which was light and tasty as well and the Italian sandwich, which he enjoyed a lot. I would mention that the ceiling insulation was visibly falling onto the ground and even on my head at one point. Who's missing draft beer? Ten dollar growler fills at Haymarket. Take your pick. $15 for the barrel aged. Haymarket has a great space, with a huge patio and roll up garage doors. They take beer and safety seriously, and we've always felt safe here. For food I always get the sausage and giardiniera pizza. It's an excellent combo, and if you haven't tried giardiniera on a pizza-it's great. The soft pretzels are also really good. Lately we've been coming for carryout sixes and growler fills. Hazy is lazy IPA, Blood orange blonde, oscars pardon Belgian ale, Mathias IPA, Imperial saison and barrel aged doppelbock all very highly recommended. Did I mention fills are only ten bucks?!? We stopped here for dinner on our way through town. All I can say is Wow! This place is fantastic! They offer outdoor seating, require masks, have disposable menus, and are extremely careful about everyone's safety. We were afraid that there might be a long wait on a Friday night, but we were seated at a campfire spot within 5 minutes of our arrival. We didn't get a table per say, but we did get two very comfortable Adirondack chairs and a whiskey barrel to put our drinks and food on. We filled out our menu, my husband brought it inside, paid for our food, and when it was ready they brought it out to us. We ordered the house chips and the sausage and pepperoni pizza. Then we enjoyed our surroundings as we waited for our food to come out. The food was great, and since we paid for it when we ordered it we didn't have to wait for our waiter to come back with the check. That was really nice. When we were done we just got up and left. I still can't get over how brilliant that was! This is a must come back to spot if I'm ever in lower Michigan in the future. read more

Usually they're good, but here's today's debacle: We were quoted 20-30 min wait at 4:50 pm for outdoor seating. After 40 minutes of waiting, we were told that our place in line had not changed. We had been craving Hearth and Market pizza. My husband and I were thrilled to hear Haymarket was selling them! We decided to make the trip to bridgeman to grab some pizza. I got my normal order of a margarita pizza while my hubby got a pepperoni pizza. I didn't go out to Haymarket with him but he said the building was really nice and everything looked awesome. Both I and my husband absolutely loved this place and I am honestly surprised it doesn't have more than 4 stars. Everything was top notch. We got the Bianca (with added sausage) and the Pepperoni and Sausage pizzas and both were incredible. This is all I want out of a pizza: thin crust, wood fired, with high-quality, well-balanced ingredients. The brew selection was extensive and we both ended up with drinks we were happy with, the Doppelbock and the Bollocks English Barleywine. Service was super warm and welcoming, it was a fun and casual environment, and the prices were spot on (with tips and tax included WHAT?!). This was a great first stop for a long weekend in Michigan-- they have a beautiful outdoor area with picnic tables and fire pits. It was so enjoyable sitting by the fire with a drink and a snack. I really liked the wood-fired pizzas but I think we showed up right at the tail end of their summer offerings so nothing on the drink list really spoke to me. They have a couple things on what I assume is their updated menu that I would definitely try though! If my beer loving friends thought any of their choices were standouts, I don't remember what they said (so maybe that's on me?) We came here years ago for a lunch stop on our wine tour. The service that we received was... horrendous, at best. We waited over 50 minutes to be served our food for a table of 6, and we were greeted with eye rolls and "okay.....?" when mentioning the food was incorrect and it had already been an incredibly long wait. Fast forward to this summer, and we returned because they were one of the only local spots open with plenty of outdoor seating. Imagine our surprise when our food was yet again incorrect. My husband had to pull out our receipt to show the discrepancy, again met with an "oh....." No apology. No acknowledgment of a mistake. My family and I went here while on vacation after looking up some local spots, and we were unfortunately not overly impressed. The pizzas were pretty good but a lot smaller than expected, so we had to order an extra, and the salad was mediocre and seemed overpriced for what it was. Our salad and pretzel also didn't come out until we asked about them multiple times (they finally arrived about 10 min after the pizzas). Overall, the service was just poor. We had to wait around 40 minutes to be seated, and there was no room to have a drink while waiting, which was disappointing. Rather than having waiters/waitresses, we had to stand in a long line at the front to order our food and drinks. The food was delivered to our table, but we had to keep fetching our own beers from the same line we ordered food from. The large outdoor space also seemed underutilized. I'm not sure if these issues were due to a lack of staffing or Covid or perhaps a mix of both, but it seems like current protocols could have been met while being much more efficient than they were. We were in town visiting family and they were very excited to share this place with us. The space is beautiful and a gorgeous outside patio. It was unfortunately raining the night we went but the patio would have been perfect on a beautiful night. There are limited seating on the inside. We were given paper menus while we waited. When it was our turn, we were told our table number without further explanation. We found our own table and there were no employees available to answer your questions until you were ready and got in line for the cashier. They encouraged 1 member of each party to go up to limit the number of people in line. There was a miscommunication on what drinks we wanted in a flight vs full size. I felt like it could have been easily avoided if there were more interaction between their employees and their guests. We did appreciate them making it right. The pizzas we ordered were delicious! My husband and I got the Bad dragon. It had jalapeños, honey, goat cheese, pepperoni, and mozzarella. That is not a combination we would have put together ourselves and it was absolutely delicious! Ok so with Covid going on there have been LOTS of drastic changes to the restaurant and bar industry. I understand that as I have worked in and still do currently work in the bar industry myself. I think its super important as a business to practice safe procedures for a dining experience for both the customers and the employees sake. That being said... my visit here today was just freakin' awkward. Walked in, host was super unenthusiastic and said I needed a mask (which I was totally fine with, I left mine at home today ‍) so I asked if they had any and she said "we have a limited supply" and just stared at me. Blankly. Didn't say anything. no idea what that was about hahahaha didn't know if she was trying to insinuate I buy one or not but it was just confusing and weird. Once inside, you're given a beer check list with a table number on it so find your corresponding table and sit. You write down your order on a beer check list and bring it up to the bar. Bartenders didn't say hello or anything, just said "that's it? 6.50" and I paid with my card...and the strangest part...you can't leave a TIP.......absurd. They take cash donations for charity which is great and all but I don't go to any bar, brewery, restaurant, club, etc without tipping. It's unheard of. I know what it's like working in a bar and TIPS ARE HOW WE GET PAID. I would have asked why but both bartenders just walked away. They seemed like they didn't wanna be there in my opinion. Bartenders should be friendly and outgoing. Not non-talkative and miserable looking. There are better spots in the area. read more
