Purchased a front door from them. Door is very high quality as is the lock Well worth the money spent. The delivery came quickly. My problem started with the installation. The door was not closing correctly. They came back a number of times to adjust it and to make sure it was working properly. Disappointed in the job. They use contractors for the installations and allowed it to be messy, incomplete and dirty. The windows were left dirty, the outside of the window had finger prints and the moulding around the window inside was not chalked. You can feel air coming in. All around horrible job. They were back to fix the issues but not happy about it. I do not recommend them. Or at least make sure that whomever they contract is doing the job right. read more

I used this company 4 years, ago. I purchased 2 front doors, 1 back door, and 2 storm doors. Once they take your money, everything is different. Install terrible. Doors are poor quality. Storm doors are peeling on the top. Customer service is awful. And finally, they don't care, and they don't fix any of the problems or issues. They are rude and nasty. The installer scratched up my wood floors while replacing a door and one of the owner said they do not repair floors so I was on my own to figure it out. I was told nothing can be done and I foolishly paid them in full as I did not notice until the installer left. The floors are shiny so at first glance the light reflection hides it and it is located in a space room that is rarey used. The scratches alone shows you a heavy object was dragged in different directions. The original door was very heavy for one person. Only one person moved it and the new door. The installer did a poor job cleaning up in the basement after window installation as well. Still have the old glass and I cleaned up leaves and dirt that came in. Also, I never received my code to register my new door knob. It all started downhill when I asked the father to wear booties inside my home (especially since it was raining outside). Nor did they provide floor drop cloth to walk from room to room. They felt it was okay to walk on my carpet with their wet shoes. I stayed out of the way in my home office (one of my biggest regrets). After the install I also advised that the door frame was not sealed properly as air comes through. Now have to hire someone else to fix the air issue as they only offered to stuff cotton in the dead latch hole. I support local neighborhood family businesses and thought that this would be the beginning of a good partnership but sadly it was not. Some years back, I used this company when they were located in Rockville Centre to install a storm door. The installer was a nice enough guy, but unfortunately, with the new latch he put in the frame for the storm door, it became difficult to unlock the front door to my house. They should have put the storm door's latch higher or lower than the front door's knob. I called the company and Mike, the owner, came by the house. He was rude and outright insulted my home in the process. Just no... I wouldn't use this company even with their move to their Freeport location. Mike needs a few lessons in customer service. read more

I bought 2 storm doors and they were installed but they did not finish with trim. It cost me money to finish. I also had 2 windows installed. Again unfinished. Mike charged additional money for trim. Never had this with any other contractor read more

They gave me a good price to install 2 Windows. My only issue is with the guy that installed the windows. He broke my storm door and didnt give a #$%$. He gave me the pieces and said, "go get a piece from home depot." Never again. read more

They installed a beautiful front door for my home. They were very welcoming and fast! We had one small issue with the trim and they came back and made it perfect! I called Mikita to install window screens that were very challenging to install due to swelling of the window frames over time. Mike showed up on time and was determined to get the screens in. The WORST place to buy from on LI & if not then it's got to be very close to being so. And -1 star might be too much for those two brothers, who's got zero respect for customer's time especially with pandemic situation where everyone is trying to stay afloat & be very busy at keeping their jobs, but they would drag on with you back & forth with numerous phone calls exchanges for weeks on (minor) things as if you have all time in the world like them (no surprise because most of us did not inherited a business & we are just busy making a living & limited time). Very close to simply cancelling my order cause it was a waste time having to deal with those two over the phone in the middle of stressful workdays. Unfortunately, Mikita did not honor their quote & also did not kept the promises they made during the deal & act as if they did not promise anything once the customers put down the initial deposit. they installed my brothers bathroom window uneven and didn't put a proper amount of corking around it. as a result, cold are in constantly getting in. they did the same thing to his basement windows. they don't pay attention to detail!!! try them at your own risk!! read more

The first time I ordered a screen door I had to keep calling to confirm installation. It was installed 3 weeks after they said it would. I gave them a second chance. i shattered the glass insert of the screen door and needed it replaced. They said it would take 4 weeks. After the 4th week passed I called repeatedly to check on the progress. I was told they would call back. No call back. i showed up at the store and was told I would have it the next day. 2 days later they still have my deposit and I have no replacement. I have since found another company to supply me with a new insert. Poor communication. Terrific liars. read more

Bought and paid in full for a door from Mike the owner. A week later he called and said it would be 20% more. What was I to do, I needed a door ASAP. Wednesday he called to deliver, I contacted my contractor to come over as he was going to install. Mike was a no show. Same thing happened Thursday. Friday he called again, I told him anytime before 3:00. He showed at 3:30, good thing my contractor could hang around. As far as I am concerned he is unprofessional and dishonest.
