Our 12 year old roof was leaking. Arnie first had one of his workers come over to check the roof out. That person gave me preliminary findings and showed me pictures of problem areas on the roof. Arnie came by another day to go over the requirements of what would be needed to install a new roof, his credentials and the guarantees offered. He then provided me an estimate that night. A few days later, his workers came, tore off the old roof, put new plywood throughout the whole roof, lined the roof and then shingled it. They had almost the whole roof done in a day, but did need a little time the next morning to finish up (which Arnie previously told me might happen). The workers were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and worked hard. They left the property very clean. A few days after the new roof was installed, we had a few days of very heavy rain and the roof did great. I would highly recommend Arnie Blake for roofing. Based upon the great reviews for Blake Roofing ,I decided to give them a call. We set up an appointment for an estimate. A few days Arnie Blake arrived on time. We discussed the work that I wanted done and he took pictures and measurements. Arnie said that he would email me an estimate in a few days. So far so good...... After 4 days and no estimate I called. I spoke to a woman who answered the phone . She said she would have him call me. I waited 3 days, and called again. Same woman answered the phone but then he got on. He apologized and assured me that he would email me the estimate by the next day........he never did. After 2 weeks I hired another contractor, and got the job done. I dont know why Blake treated me in such an UNPROFESSIONAL manner. If he didn't want the job, all he had to do was say so, but instead he wasted 2 weeks of my time. read more

Outstanding and trustworthy service! My elderly mom's home was in need of new flat roof over the garage due to leaks, new front siding, new roof over the home and new gutters. Because she is elderly and very trusting, many have taken advantage of her in the past and as a result she has overpaid for work that was poor quality. After seeing her burned multiple times, I decided to step in and handle getting quotes as well as being present when the work was being done. Please note that I live in Michigan so the quotes and work had to be done around my availability. In terms of quotes, I received 3 quotes: 1. First one was from a company who said that they did not need to remove the fence on top of the flat roof to replace the roof. 2. Second one was from a company that quoted over the phone and said that they could see my home on Google Maps. 3. Third one from Arnie Blake who said that they would remove the fence to ensure the whole roof was replaced properly and ensure details such as having a small angled peak running from the chimney toward the edge of the home to prevent icing. The 3 quotes were comparable and of course, I went with Blake's quote. I went back to Michigan and we corresponded over email / text about any questions I had. He mailed me a brochure of the color choices which I appreciated because I have had companies just email me color choices in the past. I told him which weeks I was able to go back to NY and he let me choose the week that worked best for me. There were 4 different crews that worked on the home: 1. Roofing crew who worked non-stop and showed me some issues with the flat roof that needed to be addressed. They literally took no breaks and never went into the house to use the bathroom or get onto the flat roof. They used ladders to get onto the flat roof. They also came over at 7:30AM and waited in their van until they were allowed to get started at 8AM which I believe complies with NYC noise ordinance. They also had someone dedicated to constantly cleaning the yard of the debris. 2. Siding crew who were very efficient. Because only the front siding needed to be replaced, it did not take as much time as the roof. 3. Gutter crew who were very friendly and also got the job done efficiently. 4. Painter who painted the covering over the window that looked terrible after the facelift to the home. Originally, they were going to tack on foil but there was concern about having another conduit for leaks by doing so, since that area was already susceptible. Arnie personally reviewed the work each day and answered questions that I had. I could not have been more pleased with the work. If something should arise out of the work that was done, there is no doubt that he would get it addressed immediately (not that I believe some thing would happen). Please note that the week I went to NY, remnants from Hurricane Ophelia damaged the front storm / security door & closer. He was willing to send over his door guy to review but after we both reviewed the door in more detail, it looks like a new door is in order. I am happy to have him do this work too because I know it will be done right. And because of the trust that I have of him and his crew, I will not have to drive from Michigan to NY to oversee the work. read more

We had a major leak due to the storm just 2 months into our new home which had a 20 yr old roof. We met with a lot of contractors who gave us ridiculous estimates and dirt cheap estimates with no proper grantee and a 5 day job. The president Arnie blake came to visit us and was the first contractor to point out what the issue with the old roof was. We had a low pitch roof which was done incorrectly and suggested a flat roofing material for that section and how we can ensure this damage would not happen again. I must mention the materials used towards my roof was the very same the most expensive industry contractors are using, the so called patented products (by GAF). I was very happy with the very fair estimate Arnie provided and extremely happy to learn that it was the same high end products that i was looking to use for our roof. Arnie, i cannot thank you and your company enough for all the work you guys did. The team of roofers came in at 8:00 AM and were done by 3:00 (with a one hour lunch break) which i was told was a minimum 2 day job by other contractors. I am glad that i don't have to do my roof work again. But if i had to do this all over again, i would do it with no one other than Blake. Professional concrete results This is our second time using this company and let me tell you I research and look around at reviews including the BBB and took a chance the first time when they repaired our dilapidated back roof and we were so very please then. Arnie the Manager walked us thru the plans to repair and finish our kitchen we needed walls painted, stone tiles installed for our back-splash Brian his installer/contractor suggested that we install the High Hat lights instead of replacing the old florescence light fixture that hung from the ceiling. That change really helped modernize our kitchen. Brian or any of his workers arrived every morning on time and cleaned up daily until the job was done. Hi I went to this company through the owners son who was supposed to be a friend of mine I thought I could trust him and paid before hand three months ago for services to fix one broken window I was charged 140 $ and told it would be done everyday I was given excuses I contacted the owners son Ronald Blake who runs the store he accepted and acknowledged the payment but never sent anyone to do the job when asked why he told me because I'm not home but I work and he was aware of this made arrangements with me to go with his employees so they would do the job without me present three months later the job is still not done and when asked for a refund I was refused this company is the worst company to deal with in my opinion all who reads this have been warned read more

Blake window and siding did a amazing job on our house. My wife and I are very particular about contractors especially after having a problem with a few. We had called and received about 8 quotes for siding for our home. The prices ranged from 12k to 22k. Then we had the pleasure of meeting Arnie. He was extremely patient with us as far as deciding on color. We must have taken about a month to decide on color, and he dropped off every color we requested with no hesitation. The work was started on time and took about a week to complete for a one story home. The old siding was removed as well as some brick in the front and the new house wrap, insulation, windows and siding went up. The windows were installed neatly as they were in a finished part of our home. Tarps were laid down and the crew cleaned up nicely after themselves every day. Any requests we asked of Arnie and his team were addressed immediately. His staff was patient when questions were asked and took the time to explain the process to us. Annie's first concern was our satisfaction with his work, his last concern was when he was getting paid. That spoke volumes to me about the company that I was hiring. Worked w/ Arnie to have old gutters taken off and new gutters installed. He was patient with us as we took a while to decide on which company to use. He answered all questions via email and on the phone (whichever was more convenient for us). Job was done professionally and appears to be done well as it's been a few months and no issues. Only downside is that it does sometimes take him a while to reply via email, but I honestly think that is just a generational thing. I had my stucco/cedar shingle bungalow resided by the Blake company in the fall. I could not be more satisfied. Arnie, the owner, walked around the entire house pointing out all the things I had to do before the job: fence was too close to the house, a pipe had to be moved, other pipes had to be extended. All of thse changes were minor and led to a finished project that was more polished since the siding did not have to be pieced around the obstructions. My house was a complex job as it was stucco with recessed windows and lots of angles. Arnie came back a second tone with the installer before giving me the estimate, which was beyond fair. The work was completed quickly and neatly. A neighbor recently commented on how impressed he was by the workers and the job they did.
