I find no pleasure in giving less than satisfactory reviews but this experience literally brought me to tears. VENUE First, the changes in venue were unsettling for me and concerning for invited guests. In spite of the fact that we had a contract for the Venetian I was given no choice in the change in venue to the Fire Tower. COMMUNICATION Communication was great in the beginning but seemed to drop off significantly after the change in venue and payment was made. DECOR The decor was simplistic and not at a "professional" level. The Table cloths were wrinkled. There was no coordination among the arrangements in the centerpieces - they seem to have been just thrown together. FOOD The food was not presented as I ordered it and was served at the Tasting. The food was cold and kid sized portions. The service was slow and disorganized. There was a lot of waste because few guests ate the food and complained it was not what they were told would be served. some guests arrived 50 minutes after dinner was served and were told the kitchen was closed. DJ The DJ didn't perform to expectations even though we provided the music and instructed him to play certain songs. MISC. Many guests were disturbed by the fact that a dog was walking through the venue during the party. I am sensitive to the fact that he may have been a "service dog" but it was not what is expected during a private party. As a matter of fact, one of my guests asked if she could bring her pet and she was told "no pets allowed" only to come and see a dog present. I pride myself on organization, attention to detail, and excellent service above all. This experience has negatively impacted my reputation. Some guests have said they would not attend future events I host. You would not have been in business as long as you have if the experience we had was typical of the level of service you deliver. And I would hate to think that it was indicative of the lack of value that was placed on my business. I wish you all the best in the future and hope this review leads to a better level of service for others.

It sounds like they really work with you for your unique needs. Their sound system is amazing. They even had tacos for us when we left!! This place is super fun and hip. I don't typically leave reviews to criticize businesses, but rather to bring awareness so others can make informed decisions. Unfortunately, our experience had a significant issue that needs to be shared. During the wedding rehearsal on Thursday, the venue was extremely hot. When I asked a staff member about the air conditioning, I was told that nothing was wrong with the system and that it simply hadn't been turned on prior to the rehearsal. We were reassured that everything would be cool and comfortable on the day of the wedding. However, on the actual wedding day, both the ceremony and reception were just as hot--if not worse. There was no effective air conditioning. It became so warm that the bride's cake actually started to melt. The staff attempted to help by setting up a couple of fans, but with over 150 guests in attendance, this was nowhere near sufficient. We brought the issue to the staff's attention again and were told it would be addressed, but unfortunately, nothing changed. Because of this, I feel it's important to share this experience with future couples considering this venue. While it is undeniably beautiful, please book with caution. Your guests may be extremely uncomfortable due to the heat. Given the cost of renting this space, working air conditioning should absolutely be a standard expectation.

Like many women's clubs in Florida, the Hollywood Women's Club was founded in 1922 during the Florida Land Boom years. In the 1920's women's clubs were formed to give back to the community. They became a way for women to get out of the house and assert their independence. They allowed women to get involved in politics and launched the women's rights movement. The Hollywood Women's Club predated the founding of the city and in 1924 they joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The first club members were the wives of officers in the J.W. Young Organization which was the development company building Hollywood. They met in the first clubhouse that was built on land donated by the founder of Hollywood, Joseph W. Young in 1927. Early club projects included donating hundreds of books to the first public library, holding tag sales to pay for health screenings for children, giving migrating farmers assistance with housing and welfare, getting the Miami Telephone Co. to bring the first telephone line to town, and collecting $12,000 during a war bonds drive. Today the club supports literacy programs, funds a youth scholarship, participates in the Hollywood Historical Society, supports the neighborhood crime watch, and provides financial aid to many state charities through the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The original plans for the clubhouse included an ornate Mediterranean Revival style. After the collapse of the land boom due to the Great Depression and several hurricanes the design was scaled back to a more affordable $25,000 Classical Revival style building in 1927. The building was listed as a a local historical landmark in 1985, and added to the National Register of Historic Place in 1995. Between 2012 and 2014 money was raised by the club and added to a grant to prevent the clubhouse from sinking into the sand. Other cosmetic work was also completed on this charming historical building. In 2022 the Hollywood Women's Club celebrated their 100th anniversary. During this time further electrical improvements and upgrades to the kitchen were made. Today the clubhouse is available to be rented for private events. The 1,200 square foot main event room has hardwood floors and a grand piano and can accommodate 60 people. There is also a catering kitchen. Information on how to rent the clubhouse and join and volunteer with this important civic organization can be found on the club website. If there are any upcoming events you can find that information as well. For instance they hold 2 round bingo nights for $10. The next bingo night is May 30th and they serve inexpensive drinks including alcohol and snacks. For over 100 years the women of Hollywood have been coming together to improve their local community as well as the state of Florida. Women's clubs have a legacy of helping their communities and it's nice to see that this one is still going strong today.

From the initial inquiry call 6 weeks out to the event day the staff was immediately responsive, informative, kind and knowledgeable. The restored Women's Club is run by a staff of loving, dedicated volunteers. Every question that I had as our plans developed were addressed with amazing speed. The venue has been beautifully restored and we were honored to have our celebration here. Would not hesitate to recommend the Hollywood Women's Club venue.
