I haven't eaten at Milanese in probably 30 years and often ate there after our Wednesday night Tae Kwon Do class. My father ordered lasagna for us to eat for Thanksgiving and the food is absolutely amazing. Since we live in Oklahoma now, there isn't an Italian restaurant with lasagna that's this good. Thank to Aldo, Santino and the family for making an absolutely delicious meal for us to enjoy for Thanksgiving.

My husband and I went here on Saturday night. The food was excellent. I had fillet of sole and my husband had penne a la vodka with chicken. Delicious. The service was unfortunately lacking. Our waitress wasn't very attentive and friendly. We had to ask to refill our water twice. She took my plate and napkin by accident and didn't seem to notice or care. The worst part was the wait. It took about 1 hour for our food to come out. For real. The food was good though, so I am not sure if we will be back.

I've come here a few times since my first review. Each time was consistently good. We went again on Saturday night to take my parents out for dinner just for fun. The Lobster Tail entree was so good! Highly recommend. The salmon is always good here too.

While in Poughkeepsie with friends from around the country three of us decided to try Milanese. This reminds us of the family run Italian restaurants we grew up with. Simply stated...great food, wonderful service, and friendly, attentive staff. Right down to the older couple who went table to table to make you feel welcome and appreciated. The food was phenomenal! All this in a restaurant with classic "family owned" ambiance.

Delicious meals Kind, quick, friendly service/Victor I think his name was. Someone kept calling him Raphael, not sure why. Quaint and Charming Italian decor sorta old world family feeling. Like you'd expect a grandma or mother to walk thru to check on you. Oh wait SHE DOES! Start of my husbands birthday weekend.

Another great meal at Milanese! We got there at 430pm on a Sunday for dinner because I would be driving home that evening, but we were there over two hours. There were only a couple servers on the restaurant side and they ended up having a huge party going on in the other room which spilled over. We ordered the Baked Stuffed Clams for an appetizer. There were 5 and they were good but not as large as we would normally get from a seafood restaurant. We both love the fresh homemade garlic bread they serve in the bread basket! My son had Pollo Contadina which he loved. It's his new favorite! I had chicken parm with a side of penne. Tiramusu for dessert of course! The portion size for dinners are large so we each took home half of our meal!

We were warmly welcomed when we walked in. We have no reservation but in less than 10 minutes we were seated by the owner himself. It was a busy Saturday night but the staff were working fast as they can be so they could sit people waiting but not rushing people still dining. Our waitress get our order right away and served our drinks, bread then salad in less than we were expecting. As I was looking on everyone, they all seemed enjoying their night. The place has family ambiance and it is a perfect place to spent time with the people you love. There were about four celebrations happening during our stay. Our food arrived, home cooked Italian food smells nicely and it tasted very good. I had linguine clam, and it was I am expecting, light and tasty. My husband had meatball spaghetti. He seemed liking it because he almost finished what's on his plate even the serving portion is large. We never had room for dessert. The owner came down us to say thank you for coming. It seems like the staff is all family members if not like family relationship. It is a nice place to come and dined , you will have a homey feeling during your stay. A recommended restaurant in town.

Great place was there for a bike New York 100 mile cycling event and the staff, food, ambiance was perfect. Staff went way out of their way for me, a solo diner and bread meal, dessert etc was great. Did great in the event as I had right food. Love Milanese

It slightly pains me to write this review, as my first experience at Cosimo's was soooooo good…read more Let's get on with it tho. We visited on the Friday before V-day, the house was packed around 18:30. The wait was 45 mins which wasn't too bad for a Friday night. We decided to wait in the lobby after trying to find a cozy waiting spot near the bar and missing. My wife attempted to order me a mocktail, but of course the bar was crazy busy. When the bartender finally acknowledged her, the mocktail requests obviously threw the bartender for a loop because I ended up with watered down ginger beer and a sprig of mint. My advice for anyone looking for a virgin drink at this bar would be to order a club soda with lime and call it a night. We were seated at the 45 min mark, and were escorted to the packed bar, where they have some exterior tables for diners. My seat was in the middle of the couch split, which I found mighty uncomfortable so we opted to request a seat in the main dining room, which the staff happily obliged. With dinner we ordered hot tea and were given lukewarm water and a choice of Stash teas. Our beverage experience here was very disappointing. The calamari arrived and may have been the only highlight, although we didn't find it to have that fresh calamari texture. My wife ordered a ravioli with mushroom, and felt the pasta and veggies were just swimming in butter. I ordered my steak medium and it was okay, but the juices from the greens made the croquettes soggy, and unenjoyable. The server did his best, and all the staff here are so kind. Coulda been an off night but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. The Mocktail Madam.

The food was delicious-…read morethe potatoes that came with my Benedict were a standout and I'd come back just for them- crispy but not oily, crunchy outside and fluffy inside. Eggs were nicely poached, could have use a bit more sauce! Was listed on the menu as Bernaise but looked and tasted more like the usual Hollandaise. I meant to ask for more but the actual dish would benefit from more generous saucing. Latte was delicious- nice and hot, and the espresso had a good smooth taste. A couple points of feedback- could benefit from putting notes about GF substitutions on the menu. I asked just in case and found out there was GF bread, pasta and pizza crust available. I didn't see that on any menu and wouldn't have known otherwise- seems more beneficial to list them instead of relying on diners to inquire. Second- the chairs. Metal with a curved back- the small tables are fine, but don't leave room for purses, and it was nearly impossible to keep my bag on the chair. Not super comfortable either- something to think about. Otherwise a really solid place to eat and will return to try out dinner.

Coming in, nobody was to be found, and after waiting for about a minute, the hostess, who in fact was our waitress spotted us, and said we could sit anywhere. The menu has a lot to offer, with pizza being the main offering, not to be surprising, hence in the business name. I was very impressed to see the variety. Most of the items that stick out are burgers (which taste very good), pasta, sandwiches, soup, chicken, you name it. Some of the prices I found seemed to be a bit pricey, considering it's not quite a fancy restaurant. I sure can't wait to make many visits to try each and every one of their items. Our waitress, Casey (who never introduced her name, but found it on the receipt), was okay for the most part, very friendly, but didn't check in with us at all. With the garage doors open, there were a couple of bees flying around, and ended up switching tables, Casey apologized for that. Having peanut allergies, I asked her if the french fries were dipped in peanut oil, checked, and came back and told me they weren't sure, coming to my surprise. I subbed salad instead for my safety. In the evening, I called this location and asked a gentleman about peanut oil, the same answer as before. Afterward, I called the other location in Middletown, and sure enough, they said they DON'T use peanut oil. Talk about craziness, I have mixed feelings about this location, them not knowing one piece of information when it comes to food allergies. Outstanding food no doubt - but customer service needs big improvement at this location.
