Fried artichoke Benedict were on point" runny" as requested with a delicious sauce. Eggs in purgatory ( Italian Shakshuka) were so very yummy, that I thought our friend was going to lick the plate! Came with delicious Herb Roasted potatoes and semolina bread. The Melanzane Flatbread ( not in the Brunch menu) was a huge and delicious flatbread with yummy toppings. Love it here!!! I've been a fan of the Kingston locations and love the fact this spot is close to work. They have a great lunch menu. I've enjoyed sandwiches and pizza so far. I'm looking forward to dropping by for happy hour specials and some oysters on Thursday. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside and there is seating outside. If you want a drink, they have an excellent cocktail menu. Haven't had a sangria yet, but it looks delicious. Quick service and excellent staff. read more

It's been awhile since we've been here needed to start out 2026 with a night out and Not Disappointed at all. I had Hot Honey Calamari Salad for starters it was HUGE and a Ton of Calamari cooked perfectly, not chewy, and perfect texture. Had a bowl the wedding soup nice portion needed salt and pepper but very good. They do need to season the meatballs zero flavor. Chris our server was excellent, very polite and sensitive. We stopped for lunch at Savona's and ate outside on an overcast but beautiful day. I had a Savona's Old Fashioned, which was made to perfection. Very delicious. On Thursday's they do $1 raw oysters, so I had to try those. The oysters were very fresh and tasted great. They were served with lemon, cocktail sauce and mignonette. I opted for the mignonette, which was even better than I've had in Newport, RI. The meatball parmigiana was excellent. This was served in semolina italian bread. The bread was perfection, with a crunchy crust and soft interior. The Caesar salad was a touch overdressed, but that is just a personal preference. It still tasted great, just a bit too wet. The Salmon BLT was also very tasty, but a little scarce on the Salmon meat. A suggestion would be to charge a little more, and bump up the amount of Salmon on this sandwich. Ordered an order of Nonna's Sunday Sauce through Grubhub... For the price it looked like a childs order... Small. Discription said with Nonna's famous Meatballs (plural) and sausage. It came with 1 meatball and 1 sausage. I also ordered a house side salad for an extra $4.95...salad never arrived. I called and a person with the name Z said she would take it off the bill or i could drive 5 miles to pick it up. Don't people have real names anymore? Very disappointed compared to a few years ago when we started going there. Was supposed to be a medium heat sauce.... It was mild. So bad for a place we loved. Looks like we may have to look elsewhere to a place that has pride in the food and attention to the order. read more

The outside seating was lovely with beautiful flowers and nice seating. We chose to eat inside just to be out of the sun for awhile. We were seated with menus and our server came over very quickly. She took our drink order and appetizer order and we needed a few more minutes to decide on our meals. The bar was beautiful and so was the interior, with very comfortable chairs and fresh flowers on the tables. We split an appetizer of eggplant stacked with tomatoes and mozzarella with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. We had it cold but it also can be served warm. It was delicious, but next time I think I'd prefer the eggplant warm. I had an eggplant rollatini with spinach ricotta cheese and penne. The homemade sauce was beautifully seasoned, the pasta was all dente and the layers of thin eggplant with spinach and ricotta was excellent. (The rollatini was layered not rolled). My friend ordered a wood fired pizza loaded with pepperoni, ricotta and hot honey. This is a new taste for her and she loved it. The bread was like open garlic knots..it was crispy on the outside soft and pillowy inside soaking up beautiful garlic butter. Service was perfect, and food came out in a timely manner... dishes were cleared as needed and water was refilled. We each took home a small to-go container and I'm looking forward to the leftovers. From the time I called to make the to my arrival at the restaurant the staff were kind and friendly. It's a beautiful atmosphere with a nice decor. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the lasagna and it was to die for. I had the calamari and it was THEE BEST I have ever had. My granddaughter had the penne pasta with crispy chicken and she loved it. My son had chicken parm and he devoured it. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is hungry and wants their stomach truly satisfied. We drove 70 miles to get here. read more

I had gotten take out from this place once and wasn't that impressed but decided to give it another chance for dine-in. I was seated and had my order taken very quickly since it wasn't busy. However it took extremely long to get our food. During that time nobody came to check on us, which I personally didn't mind since I don't like being disturbed while eating. After we finished eating, we couldn't find anyone to get us the check. All the employees were standing in the back talking. We were eventually able to flag down a busser who was able to get our waitress. Once we finally got the check we had to wait again to ask someone to get us change. We were there for 2 hours and spent probably 20-30 minutes of it actually eating. Very slow service, but the atmosphere was nice. We got a truffle mushroom pizza, shrimp scampi, and a mushroom risotto. The food looked amazing but unfortunately did not taste that way. The risotto had no flavor and the shrimp scampi had huge slices of unevenly cooked garlic. The truffle mushroom pizza was decent but a little soggy. Our waitress, Sarah, was delightful- I perfect mixture of attentiveness without being overbearing. Our food was absolutely delicious. After touring Vassar College and driving all over Poughkeepsie looking for a good spot for dinner, we decided to trust a Yelp review and try Savona's Trattoria, which is right across the street from Vassar. We were really impressed. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the service was outstanding, and we loved our meals. I'm still thinking about my fantastic Eggplant Rollatini weeks after visiting this restaurant. My husband and I ordered fig and cheese pizza the toppings were good but as time passed the pizza base became more like a biscuit. The Poughkeepsie Savona's the old Beech Tree restaurant space and brightened up the decor in a more modern style. Any Savona's location always has outstanding food and this location is no different. We had lasagna, pizza and a side Caesar salad --all served at the appropriate temperatures. It was Wednesday so half priced wine was an option and we had a bottle of Brunello for under $40 --great price. Two issues: service was on the slow side and off-street parking is a challenge as the restaurant is right next to Vassar College, If you're not in a rush, this is a great choice for Italian food. read more

The portion was a little small compared to others but the taste definitely made up for it. The service was pretty quick and our server was nice. Me and my family went here for the fathers day brunch buffet and my child with avoident restrictive food intake disorder(ARFID) felt sick after trying and french fry I'll never understand how you mess FRENCH FRIES up. They have plenty of high-tops and cozy nooks which makes for a great date place, and have several sidewalk tables outside. The menu is filled with innovative offerings, and even the classic dishes have a unique spin on them. I had the Grilled Chicken and roasted pear hero on semolina bread which was fantastic, and included house-cut shoestring fries that were cooked extra well done as asked. The wife had the Chop Chop Chicken salad that was made with high quality greens, and said it was excellent also. They offer limited, but well rounded draught beer choices. Savona's in Poughkeepsie has a lot to offer, as far as the restaurant goes. They have some outdoor seating, covered with an awning, which is very comfortable on nice days. The downside is that it is on a fairly busy street and close to a traffic roundabout, which can be a little noisy. They have plenty of space inside, including tables, high tops, and at the bar. Service is pretty consistent and good, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food is well prepared and decently priced, at least, during happy hour, which is when I usually go. They offer some pasta, flatbread, and other appetizer type dishes at a very reasonable price during happy hour. Also, they have great drink specials. This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. They even have a back room that is open for event space. At a recent event, the air conditioning wasn't working, but I don't think that is the norm. read more

My family of 4 went to Savonos for the Easter buffet. It was $40.00 per person. It was AWFUL. The food was cold and tasteless. The lamb and beef were tough like rubber, completely inedible. The rest of the party enjoyed the quality of food, but I did notice that nobody brought leftovers home. The service was good. The atmosphere was a bit overwhelming - very loud and we were sitting right under a vent so it would go from hot air blowing on us to it being cold when the hot air turned off. I kept taking my jacket off and putting it back on. I'd definitely go back, there are some other things on the menu I'd like to try, though I do wish the portions were larger. We have been dying to try this place. I've had it bookmarked for some time and we decided to finally give it a go. The place looks really popular whenever we pass by and it's Italian food, which I love. They have gluten free options and that's another huge plus. When picking up the food, the first think you smell is the intoxicating aroma of the complimentary garlic sticks. They looked and smelled divine. The smells definitely made it hard to get home without digging into the food. The food itself was absolutely delicious! The portions are large as well so we both had leftovers. They were just as good the next day. I ordered a gluten free carbonara and let me tell you, it was so indulgent. It was so creamy and I definitely felt like I was breaking some kind of rules eating it. Amazing! My fiancé ordered a chicken dish that was a cross between a pepperoni pizza and chicken parm. The last time I went the drinks were awful which was their only saving grace. I just left there as I wanted to give them another try and the mussels were sour!!
