Just left this location feeling highly upset. I came in for a basic acrylic set, was asked what service I wanted, and waited for about 20 minutes. While I was waiting, another customer who arrived after me was taken before me by the only technician who was available. That technician looked at me and said nothing while he asked her what she wanted. No one explained why, no one told me how much longer I'd be waiting, and no one tried to clear up the situation as I left. Before she was serviced, I already requested what I wanted twice. Whether it was poor customer service or something else, I left feeling overlooked and extremely unwelcome. I chose to take my business elsewhere. I have gone to this Milano location twice and didn't have a great experience either time. The most recent time I went, I had a mani and pedi. I had shellac on my toes that needed to be removed. The nail tech put something on my polish then used a tool to scrape the shellac off. The entire process took 30 minutes. She did not get all of the polish off and went straight into doing my new polish. After finishing, she then did my pedicure treatment~ warm towel, scrub, warm wax, etc. which was rushed through. It was surprising because I had already been there an hour and a half. For my manicure, I had builder gel done. The nail tech was really sweet but nicked me 3 times and each time resulted in me bleeding. When I got to the counter I was shocked by all the add ons. $20 for shellac on my toes, $10 to get my last set off (expected), and $5 for my nail trim and shaping (despite it being my real nail and I kept the same shape). I was expecting $10-$15 for the shellac and I thought nail trimming was part of getting your nails done. Anyways, per the pricing that was posted, I was expecting to pay $130 but it ended up being $165 before tip. read more

I had my nails done here for the first time on Saturday evening. I waited 30 min past my appointment time to even be seen, and this was only after I raised the issue. I had a Gel X done and spent $114 for 3 nails to pop off completely 4 days later. I called the salon and was told a manager would call me the next day. They offered to have me come back in, but I told them I would prefer to get refunded as I have a small child, work full time, and do not have the time to get them redone, to only return again in 4 days, when they pop off again. I have a usual nail spa in Montrose that I can go to where the work is guaranteed to be better. I offered to send them pictures of the nails popping off/lifting; in fact, I did send photos to their IG account photos. Despite all of this, the manager refused to refund me. She said that is not their policy and even the owner cannot refund me. How is it that the owner, who sets said policies, cannot refund me?! I advised them I would be submitting a chargeback with my bank. Do not get your nails done here. Their work is subpar and their customer service even worse. read more

Happy New Year! Kicking it off with my first review of 2024 with self care. I had a pedi completed at Milano & definitely enjoyed it. I received the Gardenia Pedi. The person I had did very well on my pedi and service she rendered that came with the package. I enjoyed the complimentary drinks. 4 stars: My only dislike was I didn't receive my full 9 minutes each for hot stone massage and shoulder massage. She started the clock at 7mins. I had to remind her to do the parafin wax & the mask & sugar scrub. Idk if she was going to do it (maybe she was) but it didn't seem like it once she packed up & finished my toes. Once you're finished you'll receive a ticket # & that's what you check out at the register with to pay. I thought that was unique & cool. Other than that the service was overall 5 stars because she did a great job & I felt relaxed during the hot stone and shoulder massage. I would definitely return here. The staff is consistently kind across all locations in the city and the salon is very pretty, but this chain is the definition of a "churn and burn" nail salon -- in and out as quickly as possible, with little to no personal connection. Don't expect to build a relationship with any specific tech, turnover seems high, and be prepared for high base pricing and upcharges for everything. I came to this location because it's close to work and I needed a quick gel X refill and gel polish change on my toes during my lunch break. From prior experiences at other branches, I've learned to ask for pricing before the service begins since the base rate rarely reflects the final total ~ everything is an upcharge. I remember from a previous visit that I wanted chrome with stars and each star was an extra charge ‼ my nails look good overall - the cuticle work is good and the polish application is clean - but I specifically pointed out that the nails on my left hand were longer than those on the right, and even after finishing, they still were. Not a huge issue, but disappointing when you're paying a premium and have clearly flagged it. Premium price I expect premium result. If this was $50, I would not be so picky. Checkout was confusing, as usual. I was given a ticket with a total that seemed correct and paid. Since my nail tech did not introduce herself, I did not know her name and apparently I was given the wrong ticket then chastised when I did not recognize that was not my ticket, even though I provided the number they gave me at checkout. Another staff member brought over a different slip with a $10 higher amount. When I pushed back, the front desk attendant pointed at the price list and tried to argue. I explained that I was quoted differently and that any extra would simply come out of the tip. She said I'll give you a discount, even though I didn't ask for it, but yet the total is still the same. In total, I paid $95 before tip for a solid color gel X refill and a simple gel polish change (no pedi) on toes. This is a recurring issue with this chain -- unclear pricing and upcharges for things that should be standard. I kept my almond shape and was charged for shape - each visit whether it's a sale or a new set is going to have to be shaped so just include it in your price. Bottom line: They previously used to do solid work, but after this visit, I can't even recommend that. It's overpriced, impersonal, and the nickel and diming is exhausting all while the attention to detail just isn't there. You can tell the employees are unhappy and unhappy employees don't do great work, which isn't their fault. If you're looking for consistent care and transparency, this probably isn't the place. read more

If you're looking for a high-quality nail salon experience, Milano Nail Spa is a safe bet. My wife invited me to get a pedicure with her. Milano Nail Spa is located in a strip mall with a shared parking lot, but there are dedicated spaces reserved for the nail salon's clients. When you walk in, they offer you a complimentary drink. I chose the hot Vietnamese Coffee. My feet take a beating from the random athletic activities I put them through. I opted for the Sports Pedicure which goes for 80-minutes and costs $80. I was put with Holly, and she did an excellent job. This pedicure begins with a relaxing herbal neck pillow followed by a cut, file, and cuticle work. They then remove rough skin with a callus remover. An organic green tea sugar scrub and mask is applied afterwards with hot towels. To hydrate and moisturize, the feet are placed in paraffin wax. This is all followed by a hot stone massage for 20-minutes on the legs and shoulders (10-minutes each respectively). Finally, nail polish is applied. Since it's almost October, everybody talked me into painting my toenails black for Halloween. I will share a photo in this review. My wife had a pedicure (by Jennifer) and a pedicure (by Amy). She was very happy with the results. A huge thanks to Holly, Jennifer, and Amy - they deserve raises! Overall, I had a great time at Milano Nail Spa, and I would highly recommend checking them out if you're looking for a clean nail spa. I've been here at least 10 or 11 times in the last 5 months. Initially I was having good experiences with Jon, minus issues with them adhering to appointment start times (I always had an appt, but would have to wait 20+ minutes... Jon told me they were not letting him know that he had appts). One day Jon disappeared, so they put me with another tech, who was lovely but I cannot recall her name. I saw her twice. Same issue with appt start time. Today, I had an appt, to soak off my acrylics and get a mani-pedi. I arrived on time at 530. By 555, still noone had started on my nails. I was the first person to be seated in the room I was in -- one of the girls that arrived after me, began to receive service before me. I went to the front desk to complain, they said that the tech went to the other person in error, told her I was the right person. So my pedi service technically began at 6. Still noone on my nails. I had to ask again, at nearly 615 a tech finally comes for my nails. I was pestered about my decision not to replace shellac polish on my toes with more shellac which I did not appreciate. I was also pestered about removing my acrylic nails. I do not owe you an explanation for anything I do with my own hands and feet or money. Stop. I advised I only wanted basic services due to the length of time I waited for my appt to start. More conversation on that. The two techs then went back and forth in Vietnamese, which is amongst the things I hate most about visiting most Asian-owned nail shops. Please speak English if you don't want your customers to think you're talking about them. The final straw was with my SNS manicure. Every time I get SNS, it has always been finished with a gel polish top coat and cured. This tech put REGULAR polish over my SNS. I asked her about it, she said that's how she prefers it and it'll dry in 3 minutes. It did NOT dry in 3 minutes and I told her I was not confident the nails wouldn't ruin as soon as I left because she didn't use the correct polish. She ignored me. I had to say it again that I wanted the right polish and the light cure. She buffed it off, then put the SNS top on and "cured" it with the light. The girl at the front desk made me aware of the fact that the SNS top coat does not require curing, so the tech STILL did not do what I requested. I told the girl at the front desk about my terrible experience and displeasure with having so many of them at Milano. She made excuses and no attempt to try to make it right. So I did not tip because it wasn't deserved. I told her that I would not be back and I will not. Nail salons are a dime a dozen. I prefer to spend my money at businesses that respect my time and ME. read more

I went to Milano the other day, and I'm not impressed with my nails. My nail tech was Cindy, now I usually see John, however he was not there today, but I expected Cindy to be just as good. I asked for plain, white, square dip acrylics. I normally get this a lot and it's a simple nail to do. However the nail I was left with was the bulkness of three, the white color was foggy, and it hurt when she was doing my nails. The exact remark I made at the end was, "Are you done?" I had assumed she needed to shave down something, but no. It just didn't look right. While I've had good experiences here with other nail techs in the past, this did not compare in the slightest.
