So I took in my Birkenstock Boston to get a new sole and cork repair. The cork on my shoes were in pretty bad shape for an almost 8year old shoe, it desperately needed attention. My leather jacket was damaged from a sticker tag. I googled a way to remove the sticker spot and tried multiple ways at home. The damage seemed irreversible. I had a the soles on a pair of Chaco sandals readhered here. Something went wrong during the fix (a strap got tightened), so one shoe didn't fit when I got it back home. Some years ago some stitching came out of my hiking boot and the boot manufacturer said it was unrepairable. Milano fixed it in about 10 minutes and the boots are still going strong. Milano did an amazing job on my custom made dress shoes. The recent rains got to them as they were in boxes in my garage. I shopped two places- here and an online place where you send your Birks for a fee and they fix them up and send them back to you. The prices were the same except for the mailing fee, so I decided to give Milano my service. they fixed them up good and cleaned the upper suede material too, for $75! Harout and his wife Silva are the best! I brought in two pairs of boots - 1 black, 1 tan. The black ones were extremely dusty, as I had worn them on a hot air balloon trip, and we had been walking through a dusty field. I had tried cleaning them at home, but the crevices and seams were still dusty. The tan ones I wore on a trip, and one of the top buckles had broken. The boots were otherwise fine, and it would have been a shame to toss them. When I walked into the store, Sylva greeted me right away. I explained what I needed, and she said that she would need Harout to take a look at the buckle situation, and the black boots they could definitely clean for me. Harout and I then looked at my tan boots together, and he assessed that a piece of the buckle was missing and a part of the leather strap holding the buckle had torn off, making the repair impossible in my mind. Harout walked back to a little drawer where he keeps extra buckles, rummaged around, and found a buckle the same shade as mine, but with a slightly different design. He suggested replacing the top buckle with the new one, and sewing it on, since he couldn't attach it to the leather strap. I was a little worried that only one boot would have the new buckle, but I was just glad that it could be repaired. I came back a few days later to pick up my boots, and I was absolutely amazed! Both boots looked brand new! My black boots were as shiny as could be and looked better than when I even bought them. I couldn't wait to wear them again! Even more impressive was the repair work on the tan boots. He had found the matching buckle so now both boots had the same top buckle and the same bottom buckle. The replacement buckle was sewn on so beautifully, you couldn't even tell a repair had been made! Expert workmanship. Excellent service. Quick turnaround. Reasonable prices. A local business that I will be going back to for many years to come! I believe they even own the dry cleaners next door, because Silva was going back and forth between the two shops. My friend Florence, who owns Vamp Shoes in Los Feliz, recommended me Milano and honestly I've never meet anyone more detailed oriented, precise, affordable and amazing!! I only own very precious shoes, I bought this pair of one of a kind Miumiu boots that I couldn't fit and they created a zipper on the side and now they're perfect!
