For $20-$25 they'll will bring life back to your old, tired soles. I've actually never had them revive a sole; just bring a touch of personality back to some shoes that were worse for wear. A pair of distressed military shoes came back shiny as a whistle. One a little more shiny than the other so I asked them to match it when I picked it up and they had no problem doing so. I recently dropped off a pair of suede sandals that had been trekked through Cabo's Squid Row on more than one occasion, and while they set realistic expectations ("we can't guarantee anything" - they were in pretty bad shape), I asked them to take a stab at them anyway. They called to again reiterate they couldn't make any promises, which I appreciated and I asked them to make a professional diagnosis if they were worth saving and the owner said, I'll give it a try and only charge you $20. I picked them up less than a week later and other than some weird pen markings (not sure those were there before), they really did get all the dirt and scuffs out of the beige suede! Don't be quick to toss your shoes before taking them here for an audit to see if they're worth the trouble of saving for $25, rather than buying a whole new pair! Just be sure to communicate exactly what you're looking for from the quick fix...don't leave anything unsaid or assume they know what you're looking for out of the fix. read more

Brought two pairs of birks in for different things. An old (and favorite) pair for new soles and a new pair for extra holes in the straps. New soles cost me $55 (less than half the cost of a new pair!) and were done in a couple of days. The extra holes took a couple of minutes and were free! All I can say is wow....they took my two pairs of Valentino Rockstud Pumps and made them look like I just bought them....I wish I had taken pics of before because MY GOD....they were bad to the point I was considering donating them. Location: Milano Shoe Service is located on the corner of E. Green Street and Oak Knoll Street on the left hand side (one way street). Parking: There is street parking although they seem to be all taken most of the time....if you are just there to get in and out then you can park in front of the store with your emergency lights on for a couple of minutes if you have to. (That's what I normally do anyways!) Service: WOOOOOOWWW Ladies and Gents....my shoes went through some serious ish. One pair my poudre Valentino pumps (mentioned in my Bergdorf Goodman review) was completely ruined in my attempt to pretend like I was in the show Sex and the City in New York. The bottoms were so badly scuffed it was actually wearing away at the basewood of the shoe. My heels were so bad gone the metal could actually start sparks if I ran and slid....yeah. Oh and my heels got stuck between so many grates and sidewalks in New York it looked like a dog was using my heels for toothpicks. The leather was completely scratched away to the white plastic of the heel. When I walked it sounded like my shoes were crying...I kid you not it actually made it a small cry/scream/scratch when I walked due to so many tears and my shoes were falling apart. My second pair of Valentino rock studs were actually new. It was just the common wear and tear from walking and the heels wearing away. The only thing that sank my heart was that I stuck a heel in a sidewalk grate one drunken night so there was a completely ripped part of my shoe that I thought would never get fixed. I dropped the shoes off one week ago. He took a good look at them and said...yeah we can fix it. Now at this point I think he is full of shit because my shoes were badddd... I just picked them up on my lunch break and I almost cried. Both pairs beautifully vibramed, heels replaced, and somehow they fixed the leather tears and scratches in both one and the nude one is patent. HOW!? Even the Valentino store said they didn't know of anyone who could fix the patent rock studs...well I found them! For all of that it was $80 for everything for both shoes!!!! What is $80 for repairs to shoes that cost 1k each? Seriously well worth the money and I now have my new go-to place for all things shoe service related. I gave them 100 and said keep the change! Other spots this would of easily surpassed 150 for repairs with half the amazing job that Milano Shoe Service did. Would I recommend this place!? One of the many "perks" of being a big girl is big calves. Leave it to me to find a pair of absolutely gorgeous suede boots with calves a bit too small! Harout did a wonderful job of extending the calves for me! He found the exact match of the black suede, and added it on the boot calves. The extension was so perfectly sewed on, it looked like the boots were originally made that way! I am definitely coming back here to get some of my other bags and shoes fixed. Had a zipper fixed on my backpack. They were responsive, quick and reasonable with price.

First time I've used this place, great parking in back, friendly helpful employees and fair price. I had a pair of Aldo wedges, the ankle strap holder broke on one, so I wanted it resewn and the other wedge sewn so it wouldn't break in the future. I went on a Monday and they said it would be ready Friday. I called Wednesday because I wanted them earlier- and a very nice man said he could have them ready Thursday! I went in Thursday and they replaced the material that was there for a leather one that was much stronger! I'm glad to have them back and I feel confident they won't be breaking anytime soon. Price was $19 for the pair. I highly recommend. Updated review 10/7/16 I took my brand new pair of canvas and suede Vans to see Dinosaur Jr in Joshua Tree and they got hopelessly caked in dirt. I brought them to Milanos for cleaning and a week later I got them back looking brand new. I brought in my mother's Birkenstock's in, a couple of years ago, for some minor repairs but my Birkenstock's were a major fix. As you can tell by the before and after photos, my shoes were beat up. Milano replaced the rubber sole, cork and top surface of my shoe. The price was great at $72 even. It was just like a brand new Birkenstock. This was my first visit to Milanos - I dropped off 10 pairs of shoes (some just to be shined, some to have new soles replaced and 3 louboutins to add the red sole). Overall, I was pleased with the job, HOWEVER... One of my Louboutins (about $900 retail) are BRAND NEW and I wanted to have the red protective sole on. I picked them up on Wednesday, but didn't inspect them throughly until today while putting them away in my closet. There is black stain/polish on these shoes - they are a gorgeous NUDE patent. I'm really disappointed as I don't know if it will ever come off and I know it wasn't there before because they were new. read more

This is the WORST shoe service ever. The front desk person said their top "shine" was a "spit shine" which the police officers select. Not even close to what a police officer requires." The shines looked like shoes a homeless person would have to wear, through no fault of their own. Dull! Poor workmanship! Their "spit shinning" of expensive men's dress shoes was totally unexceptable and an insult to our excellent police officers. Then, the high-end shoes were just thrown into a sack, piled on top of one another, unprotected from bumps and scrapes by a simple piece of paper. Charged $35 for each pair. What a rip-off!! Wonderful people, wonderful service. I came here to get a new hole punched in my dog's new leather collar, which they did free of charge. I then saw so many examples of what wonderful work they did, and took two pairs of boots and one pair of dress shoes in for a good polish, new laces, and re-sole. WOW. They did such phenomenal job, and all of these look good as new (and one of the pairs had some cheap soles initially, and the ones they put in were even better). I had a wonderful first-time experience here. I brought in some brown-leather Madewell ankle boots that were worn-down and had holes forming in the soles (whoops, accidental rhyme). I got new soles/heels and a nice shine to make my shoes look brand-new for a total of $56. It kind of sucks that it cost so much, but they did a fantastic job and I can't say anything negative about the customer service, either. It's an investment that'll allow me to keep the shoes I love instead of buying another pair I don't need. Also, they are pretty speedy with the turnaround time. $10 to fix a strap on a shoe, reviving a pair that I had long written off. I thought it was a good deal considering the price of the shoes. Like the convenient free, parking in the back. Milano continues to be a winner, since they do great handbag repairs! Recently, I noticed the straps were about to rip on the older Louis Vuitton purse my grandma gave me. Since the LV boutiques are known for charging an arm and a leg for anything, and because I saw that Milano did repairs, I gave them a shot. I had them replace both straps and since the leather on the bag is older and a bit darker, they stained the replacement straps to match more closely. They did an awesome job! During my second visit I wanted to stretch my clogs because it was tight covering the top part of my right foot. I couldn't wear thick socks. I left the shoes for a few days and came back to find them wider. I still couldn't wear thick socks, but they were indeed roomier than before. Looking back, I think I should have just bought the next size up in these clogs. On the third time I wanted to fix the heels of my black boots. Boy, do my leather shoes and bags get abused or what?! Thanks to Milano Shoe Repair, my Italian leather goods get a second lease in life. The main shoe guy is miracle worker and gets pretty creative with his solutions. I saw a guy bring in a broken baby's car seat. I've had pumps dyed green for about $20 and the color didn't chip like other places. I've taken in broken purse straps, missing studs, chipped heels, worn soles, torn leather jackets, etc. Once in a while, the fix doesn't hold, like a pair of sandals with a broken strap that I had brought in recently. They broke again right after I took a few steps. I took them back and they found a more permanent solution and didn't charge me for it. They're definitely better than Zinke's and nicer, as well. My only gripe is that the repair guy isn't always there for a consultation so you'll have to leave your stuff with one of the ladies. Make sure to get a quote before they do they work or you might end up blindsided with a bill that's more than you wanted to spend. read more

I took in my pair of less than 2 week old Uggs for cleaning. I had worn them out shopping and spots of an unknown substance has stained them badly. I had already tried the Ugg brand cleaner with no success. The owner of the shopped helped me and informed me that if the spots were oil based they may not come out, but he would try his best cleaning them again. Perhaps dying them darker if necessary (which I agreed to). Later on that same day, he called to ask me to come by and look at them and discuss how to proceed (the spots hadn't come out completely). Unfortunately I didn't get the message until after closing time and went there first thing the next morning. As I waited for service, I saw what looked very similar to my boots on the shelf, but looking brand new and without spots. They saved my Uggs when I thought they were ruined. Everyone here was very friendly and I am delighted that I can wear my boots again! I highly recommend this business and will be returning here for all my shoe repair needs. read more
