Fantastic service. Every 2-3 years I get the inclination to try become a runner (ok, a walk/jogger). It never works out for more than 2 months. Usually a few weeks, max. My workout shoes always seem to be attempting murder on my feet within a few minutes of running, which makes it so easy to just not run ever. Enter Milestone. I came here to try to finally get proper running shoes. After being asked several questions about my previous shoes, foot issues, and running goals, I had my feet sized, a gait analysis, and I then tested out several pairs of shoes. I found a pair that feels amazing and I'm actually excited to maybe possibly become a runner for reals one day. Super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Just recently took up jogging and recently completed the Rock Roll 1/2 Marathon Relay. Decided it was time to really invest in a good pair of running shoes as now I am training for a 1/2 Marathon. New runner here! I stopped by for a pair of running shoes after a month of running in my old nikes. I was feeling discouraged as a new runner because i kept having pain in the balls of my feet and felt I had to change how I ran. Came to Milestone Running for some new shoes and some advice. I left feeling incredibly encouraged and a new pair of Hokas which I've been running in for the last 2 weeks. Incredible service. I felt so at ease after the initial assessment. I wish i got the name of the guy who helped me because he was incredibly patient in helping me find the perfect pair. Superb customer service and selection. Would give 6 stars if I could! Trust the 5 star reviews! I went here last week to get fitted for proper running shoes. I've never been a runner (or particularly active) but I've been training for a 5k the last month. I didn't have proper running shoes and a friend told me to get fitted ASAP so I didn't get an injury. Just have to give a shout out to Julie who went above and beyond! She helped me pick a great pair of Brooks shoes and they have made all the difference! No knee pain anymore and I've been even more motivated on my runs! They listened to our running needs and wants and were able to get us fitted, with improvements. Went here today because I was long overdue for new running shoes and I wanted to consult with experts, rather than just buy a shoe I've previously worn from Amazon. I couldn't be happier about my shopping experience and about my new shoes! Greg was friendly and super knowledgeable. After talking about my average weekly mileage and upcoming running goals, we went outside and I jogged down the block with my old shoes on. Based on that, he brought me five different awesome pairs. I ended up leaving with two pairs, because I like to rotate shoes. I was is need of new running shoes. My husband persuaded me to go to a proper running store. I'm so happy he did. I wish I would have got the wonderful ladies name that helped me! She was so knowledgeable. She asked me a lot of questions and had me run to assess which type of shoe would be best for me. Then, she had me try on five different pairs of shoes which was so eyeopening. I really was amazed at the differences of each shoe. Once I had my top two, she had me do a little run with one on each foot. There was a clear winner. It really makes a difference to get a great shoe. Not only do they have amazing customer service, a friendly and knowledgeable staff and an amazing selection of running shoes, they have the best/biggest run club around! I discovered Milestone through their Wednesday night run club when I lived a few blocks away in North Park and (before covid) continued to make the trek down there when I moved away to run with the group. I enjoy shopping at Milestone because of the selection but also due to the no pressure atmosphere from the staff. They even talked me out of buying inserts before. The crew at Milestone knows their stuff when it comes to shoes (and all things running) and always provide a ton of options to try on. There are some real shoe nerds that work there that geek out over the new shoes and updated versions that come in - it's really cool to see. 3.5 years ago, I bought my favorite pairs at Milestone Running Shoe Store (MRSS). I recently moved back from the East Coast and knew I was past-due for new pairs (i.e., street & trail). The great selection, amazing costumer service, and overall personalized experience, led me to return to MRSS. Absolutely one of my favorite small businesses in San Diego; it has to be when Greg remembers you after 3.5 years (they care). Darius was absolutely amazing; he picked up that I don't like shopping and made sure I didn't make my usual "get in-get out" purchase that I may not be completely satisfy with. In an hour, I tested (ran outside) about 8-10 pairs and purchased YET AGAIN, the perfect pairs. Oh! Plus a cell phone holder. I may need to buy sneakers more often since this morning, I ran 2.5 miles more than my usual 3.5 miles quick jog. Comfort! read more

Awesome customer service, super friendly weekly run club, great selection of shoes, clothes, and gear, and a cute shop dog! I recently made the decision to pick up (and stick with) running and signed myself up for the Rock n Roll 5K as motivation. The pair of running shoes I currently had were years old and worn down. I looked around on Yelp and decided to check out Milestone based on the reviews. I checked out the store on a Sunday. When I walked up, I immediately realized they had a shop dog named China who was sunbathing outside. My first thought: definitely coming back to pet the shop dog! Chad greeted me once I walked in and I explained my situation to him. He explained how they analyze your running gait by recording you on the treadmill in neutral shoes. Once he had analyzed my gait, Chad brought out about nine pairs of shoes for me to try on. He arranged them in order of increased cushioning and encouraged me to run in them around the block to pick which one felt best. While Chad was assisting other customers, Darius stepped in to answer questions I had about the different shoes. I ended up purchasing a pair of shoes and will most likely come back for a second pair to rotate as I increase my running frequency. I also checked out their weekly run club, and loved it! It was my first time running more than a mile. Everyone was very friendly and inviting and I'll definitely be back for more now that I'm hooked! They meet up at 6pm on Wednesdays and start at 6:10pm. You get to pick either a 3 or 5 mile run. They raffle goodies at the end and you get a little token for doing 15 runs with the club! Afterwards, there's a little meet up at a local restaurant/bar. The atmosphere is very friendly, inviting, and nonjudgmental. I came here looking to get into a different pair of shoes as my current shoes were giving me knee pain. Chad was very nice and helped me get into a great pair of shoes. I ended up going with Saucony and wanted to test them both outdoor and on the treadmill and am happy to report the knee pain is gone. He also gave me some tips on strength training to help with knee pain as he also has experienced that before. This will definitely be my go to place from now on. The best running shoe store! Unlike other running shoe stores who check your gait while you're barefoot (which doesn't make a lot of sense unless you're running barefoot), Milestone records you while you're wearing shoes. They don't try to upsell you on custom inserts if you don't need them (which my husband's wallet appreciated...I always go for the custom options). They have a great selection and I felt like they genuinely cared and listened to my needs in a shoe. They might not be able to make me like running, but I sure do like my new shoes. read more

I stopped into Milestone for the first time back in November of 2017. I needed some new shoes as I was starting to run again after having my son. I have high arches and a tendency to roll my ankle so finding a comfortable shoe is not usually a simple task. The staff did a great job with the fitting and helped me find a shoe that worked well for me. Since getting my new shoes I'm no longer experiencing knee pain after my runs. I have been having some foot problems lately and went into your North Park store yesterday to buy some shoes. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful Shelby was!! He spent a lot of time going over what shoes (and even what socks) could be really helpful for me. He was so patient and nice. I did not feel rushed or pressured to buy anything at all, which actually makes me want to buy more from your store! I ask a lot of questions, and I'm very indecisive, so I really appreciated how much time he spent helping me. I also wanted to buy some toe spacers, but there were none in my size and I was bummed, because my toes have been rubbing together and I have been afraid that if I get blisters there, they will be really hard to heal. Anyhow, Shelby was gracious enough to let me try on his toe spacers so I could at least figure out the right size. Could you ask for any better customer service ???. I have been going to Milestone for several years now, and everyone there is always great, but Shelby was really exceptional yesterday, especially when he let me try on his personal gear.
