My set fee was for all representation required in the case. But a critical document must yet be filed with the court. But when I call, I'm told that he had closed the case (which is clearly false as far as the court is concerned) and he therefore cannot do anything more. I understand that the older brother and owner of the practice is very good, but my experience is that my attorney made well more than $500/hour doing the least work he could.

One week prior to the hearing he tells me I need another 3600 for him to continue or he's withdraw at hearing which he did. During the time he was my attorney the only effort he put in was to try to get me to accept a plea despite my saying from the start I would not accept a plea and wanting to fight. I have requested a refund and they are denying it with lawyer word salad and so I will seek an investigation.
