I was a little overwhelmed with all the toppings so o took a shortcut and did the recommended toppings! This was a great idea bc I didn't have to think and I enjoying watch them make it. I ordered the Rainbow Road, a little sweet but loved the fruity peoples:) By far my favorite was the Choccolify...I substituted the chocolate pocky for banana which really gave a fabulous after taste and added Cinnamon Toast Crunch bc they didn't have the chocolate wafer. I came here for a quick bite before heading to the mall. I ordered the choco chocolate rolled ice cream. The staff expertly rolled the ice cream and then added the toppings. It was a great surprise to hear that we could add unlimited different toppings. I added Oreo, strawberry, roasted marshmallow, and strawberry/banana pocky sticks. Lovely second location for milk lab! I've been here a few times already and the drinks hold up. So far i've gotten the thai, oolong, and normal black milk tea. The quality of the boba here is excellent, and is always a good balance between not sweet and too sweet. The tea flavor is also excellent. I still feel like the tea to milk ratio here is a bit off, hence the 4 stars. But still ! a great place to get boba and I love this second location. The place itself is super cute. Been to this location multiple times. It's always clean and the staff members are friendly! The drinks and rolled ice cream are amazing. I've tried new drinks every time I visited and every one of them did not disappoint. The cups and lids are very cute. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, but with covid I believe the indoor seatings were closed. Right outside the store are three tables covered by the building, so if you're planning on sipping your drink outside on a rainy day you don't have to worry about getting wet! read more

Yaaaaaaaaay Milk lab! This place is dangerous. I went to the Cary location a handful of times. But it was a bit out of the way for me so I didn't go as much as I wanted to. Now that it's just down 55... wow, they might start to recognize my face through a mask. This is my fave bubble tea place in the area. I live closer to 3 other spots but I'd rather go to Milk Lab. Their drinks are consistently tasty. I'm a sweet person and their drinks are the perfect amount of sweet. The milk tea is smooth, the boba is the right amount of chewy. But I really like their other toppings, too. Like the strawberry jelly and the oreo crumbles (which really go well with Thai tea!) I recently discovered their milk caps. Those are really tasty. The mango milk cap tea is my new obsession. It tastes so good with the creamy salt mouthful of the milk cap along with the sweet, fruity mango tea. And I love the slushy nature of the mango tea with the little bits of mango at the bottom which slip through the hole in the sip cup top, unlike strawberry jelly... (still order them tho, that's why God made spoons). I've also had the Thai Tea, the fruit tea, a couple of the rolled ice creams and the Thai/Oreo ice cream float. I recommend them all! I'm going to try the whole menu. I bet I can't go wrong! The online ordering works great and they offer an Apple Pay option, which should be standard for everyone in life. So they made it way too easy for me to order way too many drinks and my doctor will probably give them a call in a year and ask them to cut me off. I wanted to take a picture of my latest drink but then I drank as soon as I grabbed it, so it wasn't pretty anymore. So obviously, I like Milk Lab a lot and you should check it out. Upfront, I'll say Milk Lab is a great addition to this area. The staff is nice and this is a great spot for hanging out with a friend! We've been here twice now and tried different drinks, including: the brown sugar black milk tea, a strawberry milk cap tea, and the Thai milk tea. They make the drinks less sweet than other places at baseline, so just know that. I got a full sweet brown sugar black tea and found it to be about 50% sweet level (I enjoy being able to ice it down later on!). Some might enjoy this and some might not. The drinks are nice and I appreciate the effort these guys put into crafting them. Doing the Thai rolled ice cream work is always fun to watch and I love the names of these menu items! The biggest drawback is that they give so little boba. This has happened on both occasions sadly in both of our drinks. Having worked at a boba shop in the past, I would recommend doubling the amount put into each cup honestly. read more

Milk Lab is a local boba phenomenon serving up delicious, naturally flavored milk teas and rolled ice creams. Their teas use all natural flavors, no powder flavors, and toppings span an array of boba, pudding, and jelly options such as taro pudding and strawberry jelly. The rolled ice creams include uniquely Asian flavors and can be generously topped with fruits, cereals, candy, and cookies. Lest we forget, they also serve fresh flavored milks, which if you haven't tried before, are essentially sweetened, cooked fruit mixed in milk, like a grown up strawberry milk. I docked one star for way too sweet tea (I recommend 30% for pretty much all teas), and I'd also like more overt flavors in their teas. More matcha or more rose flavor, for example, would really elevate them above their competition in the Triangle. I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a good boba place in this area, but after trying Milk Lab I was pleasantly surprised. There was a line forming in the store when I went to pick up my order so I thought that was a good sign. I'm not sure if it's because I ordered on DoorDash, but it wouldn't let me customize the ice or sweetness level or even add any toppings which was a bummer. I ordered Ceylon Black Milk Tea and the default sweetness level was sweeter than I'm used to, but not too bad since I could still taste the tea. It was my first time trying Ceylon tea and I loved the nutty, citrusy flavor. They even put my drink in a single cup holder in a cute bag. Great place to grab bubble tea after getting dimsum or korean food nearby! I would recommend lowering the sweetness. I have a huge sweet tooth and usually get 100% but it was too sweet even for me. Not docking any stars because of the sweetness because that's easily controllable (you choose your sweetness level as with most places nowadays).
