Nothing stays the same... Let me start off by saying, I've been coming to Nordstrom Cafe since around 2014. I hadn't been in about 8months, I decided to stop in for lunch while shopping (June 2026) There's now a hostess... you are seated and order through a waitress at the table. The service was good and the atmosphere was good great lunch time crowd. The food has seemed to take a bit of a hit during the change. I ordered the Nordstrom Beyond Burger which used to be amazing. I received my beyond burger and noticed that they no longer serve it with lettuce and tomato. The burger just had cheese, pickles and the sauce, it looked very plain. The way that it was cooked seems to be different as well. I received a handful of fries with my order, not many long fries, mostly short fries. I may have gotten the end of the bag... This used to be a 5 star Gem, now I would rate it 3.5 stars After your meal you pay at the table with your waitress using a hand held device. It's still worth a try, so I would recommend it for newbies if you're a long time customer you might notice a difference. read more

Venue: very casual. You walk up to the register and order and sit yourself. Service: don't let the casualness of this restaurant fool you. The service is exceptional. The server will come to your table and give you service after you find your table. I typically tip when I order (takes lot of trust before the service) and they never fail to provide great one. As a meatasauris, I do not typically turn to salads however, this particular salad, Asian sesame salad with my choice of protein, salmon is to die for. It is very flavorful, sweet, tang and savory. Each bite is fresh and crunchy and love the mandarins that compliments the sweetness of the dressing. Highly recommend if you love salad. Price: depends what you order but this salad is about $30. read more

My family and I stopped in today for a bite. We ordered the artichoke dip, rosemary chive biscuit and the crab bisque. The crab bisque was very creamy even though there wasn't much crab. The artichoke dip was not good. It's very oily and took a long time to come out. I wouldn't recommend and honestly we should have sent it back. The rosemary chive biscuit was dry. Should have sent that back too. Maybe today was an off day for the staff but service wasn't the best. We even told our server we wanted more napkins and we had to ask multiple times. Came for a little mother/daughter lunch. Stop by the cafè for a cold drink. It was wonderful. Went upstairs for lunch. Ordered the salmon niscoise salad. The salad came with its homemade dijon vinaigrette, eggs, potatoes, wild herb crusted salmon. It was all well dressed. The salmon was a little dry and needed a little salt. French dip is always good here. I haven't had it anywhere else but it's my go to order. Tried out the pizza today and it was surprisingly good too. My family and I enjoyed eating at the cafe bistro. I chose this place because my husband has never been there and I've always talked about the restaurant to him! When we arrived we had to stand in a short line which wasn't bad. Once we got to the front the cashier was very nice and made some delicious recommendations for us. My husband was surprised how the restaurant was situated inside of Nordstrom. We ordered a kids Mac and cheese with milk. We also ordered pizza and I had the crab Mac and cheese. We paid about $40 for our meal and everything was delicious. They offer kids activity sheets and crayons. The restaurant isn't that big but were able to find a booth immediately. Our server was very nice and accommodating she made sure that our drinks were filled and that we had everything that we needed. The restaurant was also very clean and organized. Overall good place to eat, pricey but worth it! I would definitely go back. read more

To begin our day of shopping at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham, my daughter and I lunched at Nordstrom's Cafe' Bistro. She had the pepperoni pizza, and it was delicious, as usual. I chose the bistro club sandwich with sliced chicken, baby greens, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, hericot vert, and a spreading of garlic aioli. It's a very filling sandwich. I've never had green beans on a sandwich, but it works! They were not over cooked and still had a little bite to them. The bacon was crispy, and the bread nicely toasted. The plate was filled with a generous portion of herbed fries and a kalamata olive aioli for dipping-so yummy! I don't get to Nordstrom's very often, but a meal at The Bistro is well worth the drive. read more

It's probably not good for me to know that they serve food and wine at Nordstrom, but now I do so that's that. I was always vaguely aware that there was a café somewhere in the store, but it's tucked away on the north end of the second floor where I never go, so I had to seek it out. It actually makes a nice respite from the craziness of the food court and is a different option than the larger stand-alone restaurants in the "streets" part of Streets at Southpoint. You order at the registers right up front and then pick a seat--either at a short bar area in front of the cooking area or at one of the tables. (There's a huge window on the back side, but it overlooks Macy's and exit 276 on I-40, so meh.) Then a server will bring your food to you. My first time there, I didn't know how everything worked, so I'm not sure if you can add a tip when you pay at first or not. They close the ticket then, so I guess if you don't happen to have cash, the server gets stiffed. I guess just be aware to ask about that up front or have a few bucks on you. The menu has a selection of sandwiches, pizzas and salads in the $10-$15 range, then some specialty dishes in the $18+ range. I got the grilled ham and cheese with bistro fries and it was very tasty, with nice quality cheese perfectly melted and thinly-shaved ham on good bread. The fries came with a nice bistro-style dipping sauce. They have a few wine and beer selections as well. My only criticism of the menu is that they don't have any real options for lower-calorie meals. The calorie count for each dish is printed on the menu and there are a few "Eek!"s on there. But overall, it's a very civilized place to sit down and enjoy a fresh-cooked lunch well-served. read more

We've taken the family to the Nordstrom cafe every Christmas season for the last 15 years. As our family has gotten larger, we were concerned that this year it may be difficult to accommodate all of us, so we called the day before to see if it was possible. The manager said, "Yes, we'd be happy to have you." When we arrived (approximately 20 of us), the manager was there to greet us, they had a section set aside, and the wait staff was at the ready. Nordstrom's bistro does not disappoint with it's elegant, dimmed-lighting interior and beautiful, oval ornaments that hover on the ceiling. My friend and I came here for dessert, ordering a Triple Berry Shortcake. Our waitress was impeccable, despite the fact that we only came in for dessert. She consistently checked on our table, ensuring that everything was to our liking. The shortcake was very light and flavorful, not overwhelmingly sweet. There were FRESH blackberries, strawberries and raspberries on the dessert, which I really appreciated. Originally, I didn't really think much of this place. The idea of a bistro inside a prestigious store like Nordstrom only reverts to typical and expensive gourmet food. I'm glad they proved me wrong because now I won't have to resort to mushy/greasy mall food when I get hungry while shopping! The bistro is actually very affordable and the food is of good quality. Um yum!! This place is awesome! Who knew such a delicious restaurant was hiding inside a department store in Durham?! Now that Nordstrom has kind of become my second home, I eat here as much as I can. They have delicious pizzas, salads and sandwiches. They are flavorful and not super expensive. I think I could honestly eat here everyday. Everything I've tried has amazed me. It is just that good! I wish I had known about this place longer. I will now be taking full advantage of eating here as often as I can. May I suggest the roasted chicken and goat cheese panini? And the fries.. I try not to eat fries in general but you can't pass these ones up. They have truffle oil or rosemary or something devine on them! The olive aioli is even good! Always a good option to eat here if you're looking for a break from shopping. Southpoint can get especially busy, so this is a great option if you're looking for something that's not too crowded, generally quiet, tasty and healthy food, and quick service. You order at the counter and then are seated and served your food, so you still get a dining out experience, but it's much quicker than a sit down restaurant which is good if you want to get back to shopping. The food is tasty here, but it is pricy for what you get which is my sole reason for the 3 stars. I always order the strawberry salad, which comes with chicken, candied nuts, and fruit. The strawberries and fruit are always fresh whether it's in season or not. The dressing is tasty too. However, for the price of it the salad isn't that big and the chicken is okay but not very flavorful. They do sometimes give chocolate mints with your check that are a very good treat at the end of the meal! I would overall recommend this place to eat while shopping at the mall. It is definitely a healthier option than the food court, just be prepared to spend a little more money. read more

Love this place!! There is not one bad dish on the menu. Tonight I had the steak frites and it tasted like a high end steak from Angus Barn or Ruth Chris but was only 25 bucks! At first glance the cafe is so small it can easily be overlooked but don't underestimate it! Other great dishes include the goat cheese chicken panini, the lobster Mac n cheese, and the French dip sandwich. Honestly, anything you get I'm sure you will be pleased! Over the years though, the prices have just continued to creep higher and higher, and I just can't spend $50 on a meal for two in a department store -- high-end one or not! It's a bit pricey but I love the Café Bistro at Nordstrom in Southpoint. Excellent service, delicious food, a menu with something for everyone, an open kitchen and a cozy, cool (as in temperature) environment to relax while shopping. It was difficult to choose, the pizza looked fantastic, but I settled on the roasted chicken and goat cheese Panini with arugula and caramelized onions served with fries. The Panini was really good, but the Kalamata aioli that came with the fries was over the top. Overall it is a wonderful place to eat and get out of the buzz of the mall. read more

Nordstrom delivers upscale with it's product line, and it does with the Cafe Bistro as well. Cafe Bistro is a classy little nook in the Nordstrom at Southpointe on the Second Level. They serve gourmet sandwiches, wood fired pizza, delish salads, and desserts to DIE for! My faves: Grilled chicken breast ciabatta and the margherita pizza, for dessert, there is this sinful chocolate mousse cake that literally will make you think you have died and gone to heaven! The Bistro also serves wine and beer. The cost isn't as extreme as you'd think. You can get away with having lunch with a glass of wine for about $12-$15 before tip. Oh, and the service it top notch! Most of the servers are Nordstrom All Stars, meaning they have had enough customer feedback to generate a level of excellence that sets them apart from other Nordstrom staff members. A neat place to have lunch or early dinner if you are in Southpointe and are looking for something outside of the normal mall food and chains. read more

Okay, I'm a self-confessed Nordy. I love the store, I love the attitudes of the sales associates, I pretty much love all things Nordy. But, if you haven't tried the Bistro on the 2nd floor tucked way in the back of the store you're missing a mall treat! If you get there at prime lunch hours be prepared for a wait because the place is small, but it's worth it. Small, upscale menu featuring salads/sammies with a soup of the day to give variety to their standard french onion and crab bisque soups. I found the french onion a bit salty for my taste, but OH, the crab bisque. TO DIE FOR!!!!!! You will want to lick the bottom of the bowl it's that good! Wood fired pizza? Yep, they make them and they can stand up to local competitors. Service is great, and despite the line outside the door you'll never feel "rushed" by the waitstaff. It's a great place to meet a friend or even biz associate. So, the next time you're at Southpoint and in the mood for a bite, try the Bistro Cafe at Nordstrom. I have always been a fan of Nordy. I remember when they used to have the champagne exchange and restaurant in downtown San Francisco. Lately, Nordy's has been upping the trendiness factor and at their newest locations, they have a bistro instead of cafe. The difference is the type of food they serve. At the cafe it's more "simple" whereas at the bistro you can order steak with the yummy olive sauce and french fries as well as the salmon nicoise salad/ The bistro definitely is a step up from the cafe, but both are great. The cafe used to have french onion soup, whereas that is what the bistro has. As well as other specialty salads and sandwiches. I came today with my parents and there was a long line out the door. The restaurant itself isn't very large, but by the time we ordered, a few tables opened up. I like how you pay at the counter and take the receipt to a table where the server brings your drinks and food. They are usually very friendly and attentive and here, in the South, their charm and friendliness rings true. The best part is that after you are done, they give you a chocolate mint. Yummy! Nordstrom is definitely one of my fave stores to buy almost everything in, and I love their bistros and cafes. read more

This is my favorite place to eat at Southpoint. I am obsessed with the olive aioli that comes with the fries. The chicken and goat cheese panini can be a bit on the greasy side, but in a delicious way. Service is order at the counter but then you have a server who confirms your order, brings/refills drinks, etc. Bring cash, because if you want to tip our server that's the only way. Sometimes service can be a miss - last time we are we got ZERO drink refills, but it our server was busy the whole time, so it seemed like they could have benefited from another staff member. My wife absolutely loves this place. I find it to be solid but not spectacular. I had a personal pizza there last week and spent the entire dinner thinking how much tastier it would have been if I had been downstairs at California Pizza kitchen. They seem to do soups, salads, and small plates pretty well in general, although I had French Onion soup that was served at about room temperature. It's kind of a weird ordering scenario....you go in, then you order at the register in front....then you are seated and the waitress has your ticket and for the rest of the meal you are seated like you are at a typical restaurant....not sure why they have this hybrid feeling approach...it is not a big deal, it just comes across a little odd. I think that if you are at the mall, and you want something faster than a sit down place, but you don't want to enter the Thunder-dome that is the food court, this is an okay option.... read more

Of all the dining options that Southpoint has to offer, this is hands down my favorite. My best friend and I would frequently stop by this place to quell our post-shopping hunger (or to have a filling and preparatory pre-shopping feast...either way). Compared to the other restaurants in the mall, it is a refreshingly quiet, small and cozy little place to eat and the food was consistently delectable each time I stopped by. Basically? Go now. I highly recommend the salmon niçoise salad, followed up with crème brûlée (or the strawberry shortcake, which is almost as good and ideal for sharing). I havent been here in a while but love this place. I used to come here on Saturday's when my son was smaller. Great for kids lunch and to meet friends. You can pile several kids and adults in one of the round booths. Top it off with some crayons and a coloring page from the cafe, and you've got a successful lunch without having to eat something wrapped in paper with little ketchup packets. The salads are tasty and the pizzas are huge. But like anything at Nordstrom, you're gonna pay a little more because of where you are. read more

This place has great reviews on yelp, and my SO and I were looking for a place to eat that wasn't fast food, but not terribly expensive. Nordstrom is a fairly classy place, so we were excited to go; however, the results were "plus minus". These are the things we tried: Turkey cranberry sandwich: This was a pretty standard sandwich, nothing special. Personally, it didn't have to be special in order to taste good, as the thanksgiving special in sandwich form never really gets old for me. That being said, the fries that came with it were delicious. I love when my fries are wonderfully topped with seasoning, garlic, salt, etc. They were shoestring and crispy, but not hard. And the olivey aoli? that it came with tasted good. Had to ask for ketchup, but I love ketchup. Rustic vegetable pizza: This was a-ok. It had sun-dried tomatoes, that was the main flavor. It did have good melty cheese which was very good. Aside from the strong sun-dried tomato flavor, I couldn't seem to drink enough water while eating this pizza. The standard sandwich, plus the a-ok pizza made this place not as good as the other places that I've given four stars and you can't give everywhere good reviews. What an amazing surprise that awaited me when I went to an impromptu lunch today with a coworker friend! The service is phenomenal. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly, and let me just talk about the food... I had a steak sandwich with melted gruyere cheese and shallots on super-tasty foccacia bread. It was to die for. Well, I'm going to have to join the crowd on this one and give a really positive review. Tucked up in the 2nd floor of Nordstrom (this isn't the little coffee shop by the entrance on the first floor), it's an upscale lunch spot. It's priced like you shop at Nordstrom, with no entrees under $10, but it's also very friendly table service after you order with a great decor and atmosphere, plus free Wifi if you're lunch-working (lurking? no, that can't be right...). While pricey, everything was delicious, prepared very well, and the purple olive-mayo-dip thingy with the french fries was deliciously decadent. If you're looking to impress someone for lunch and you're in the mall, this is the place to go. I'll be back as often as my wallet permits. This was our first time at this Nordstrom cafe. Was not sure how to order. The associate was not clear. I ordered and paid but this makes it awkward for paying a tip. Our server was great. The service was quick. I loved my crab, mango avocado salad. This was awesome. My daughter's grilled cheeses was good. I enjoyed her chicken noodle soup, it tasted homemade. I generally don't like places where you order at the counter, but since I've seen so many good reviews I thought I'd give it a shot. Atmosphere: OK. We sat at a tiny table along the wall in a line of tiny tables (because there was nowhere else to sit) so this meant having some strangers butt in your face when they sat down next to you or having the server's butt in your face as they serviced the surrounding tables. I'd much rather have one of the tables in the center of the room but they were busy. The Food: I had the Arugula and Steak Salad, my dining companion had the Chicken Caesar Salad. My salad could have been better if the steak was served warm. I was surprised to find that it was cold! My friend's chicken was served warm. Was there a mistake in the kitchen? The Dijon and Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing was delicious tho', and my friend really enjoyed his salad. The Service: I was a bit ticked off that the people who sat next to us got their food before we did when we'd been waiting for 10 minutes already before they even sat down. Other than that it was OK. I'm not sure I'll make any special effort to go back. As I mentioned earlier, I really don't like the whole "order-at-the-counter" thing. But who knows? They were weird about answering question to the menu, you order right their, you seat yourself, then a server comes to your table like they are taking your order. Food was over priced and experience was bad. I've been in other Cafe Bistro in different states and this one with ordering at the counter and then a server coming to your table is a waste of time.
