While waiting I received a quote, dang... expensive. I really love my old bike and have a new gravel bike I like and had to think. There was no pressure to say yes, they did not even try to upsell me a new bike. Im glad I had them work on it, it rides as smooth and free as ever. I did still have an issue with the front derailleur which was addressed promptly. Overall I had a great experience with the service dept as they went above and beyond any expectations I had. I should note the guy that helped me was not the guy from the phone. I stated that the guy I talked to said he may have one in stock, the older guy decided not to investigate further and started pricing me out a new one. He made a trip to the back, basically told one employee to F-off and took a "measurement" of the thread pitch. Came back out and I asked if he looked to see if there was one in the back. He said he didn't look and still needed to measure the length of the shaft. I told him don't worry about it, and that if there is this much leg work in ordering it, I bet it's over priced.

She ordered in every model of the bike and then held onto the one we wanted so we could drive up from Omaha to test drive them. Ended up buying two bikes and a new rack. When we had an issue with the rack, Ann called Saris and had a new part sent to our house. My only regret? That they aren't closer so we could do all of our business with them. Solid business!!

With that said, I have these folks a call to see if they would be able to help with bike set up and tuning even though I didn't purchase the bike from them. They were beyond willing to help and I was able to simply drop off and pick up when ready. Price was reasonable and service was excellent and efficient. I also liked how they took everyone's safety into consideration with their COVID precautions. The tape install was good, the derailleur adjustment was below what we have experienced at Flanders, Now, Behind Bars and Recovery. We are new to the area and looking for a bike shop, will try Valley again, but our first go around for service was disappointing.​ At $149, the parts that were adjusted were not cleaned, the first time we had ever seen that work done while omitting the cleaning. We always shop and support independent shops.
