In fact, the opposite is true, that I did not have to speak with police. Mike explained my rights. In my emotional state, I needed the clear details that he gave me about how to protect rights and invoke my right to remain silent if questioned by the police. Mike explained and simplified the details. With one phone call, he alleviated the fears I was experiencing. Mike is an honest attorney. He gave me a clear evaluation of the situation. If I need his services, which he told me I did not need at the time (an honest attorney!), I will call Mike Munoz. I trust him to protect my life. Thank you, Mike! You do not know how much your comments mean to me! The best attorney ever with lucid explanations!

By 4:20 I'd yet to hear anything so I called & was told he was running behind on his previous phone call & was understanding. 4:45 hit & I was not nearly as understanding bc my thoughts are "I'm gonna let someone have my back in court that won't have my back for a phone consultation??" I then called again & was told (by the person that answers the phone) that she texted him to remind him of the 4:30 appointment. 4:30?!?!? I was told 4. She then told me he's still on the phone & I expressed to her that I was very irritated because I waited around my phone for something that was scheduled. Hello! I schedule calls & appointments too, the difference is I show up to mine. I decided that I did not want to hire someone that is unorganized with their call system because who knows where all of my court docs will go - could be scattered in several folders. To end the story I was never called at all yesterday & when I called today he was in court & I was told that it's "busy season". I was then told today (the day after not having my appointment followed through with) that I was being rude with expressing how frustrated I was. I wasn't rude, I wasn't vulgar - I was honest. Munoz defended himself saying was a "nice guy" & per reviews I see that, but I was not treated well by him. No apology for missing my consultation & no apology when I cracked a joke saying "you're the most difficult guy to get in contact with" rather he had a condescending attitude stating "yeah, we're a really busy attorneys office". Seems rather prideful to me with no apology whatsoever. Set people up with expectations because we also have a life outside of yours.

Paul is a grounded, down to earth professional that cares deeply about his clients. He's honest, compassionate, communicative, transparent, responsive, and always makes himself available for questions, assistance, and support once he represents you. He eased my nerves and did a wonderful job explaining the each step through the legal system for me as a novice. He gets to know about you as a human being, your life, interests, and family from a very sincere place. I had wobbly knees and unsure footing when my case began. He offered me his arm to steady me through a complicated case in a territory completely unfamiliar to me so that I never felt alone. Paul's empathetic nature pairs perfectly with his intelligence and passion for justice/fairness. He will fight for you as his client and look at everything from every possible angle to ensure he is bringing the best possible case forward on your behalf. He's honest to his core and is extremely trustworthy. He's extremely knowledgeable and takes research seriously when the need arises. If there's something he wants to know, he'll always find the answer. It was an absolutely pleasure to work with Paul over the 2.5 years he worked on my case. I'm so grateful for all his work and the final outcome for my case. If you're looking for a fabulous attorney and sincerely great person to represent you, I can't recommend him enough.

I've never dealt with an attorney as unhelpful, unresponsive, and dismissive as Manny Jacobo. From…read morethe beginning, communication was basically nonexistent. I had to chase him down for even the simplest updates about my own case, and when I finally did get responses, they were vague, rushed, or flat-out unhelpful. What really pushed me over the edge was the attitude. Every time I tried to understand what was happening with my case, I was met with sarcasm, irritation, or condescending comments instead of explanations. I never got discovery, never got charges clearly explained, and never got anything that resembled real legal guidance. The way I was spoken to made me feel like a burden instead of a client. I ended up firing him because I genuinely felt like I had NO attorney at all. And once I started looking around online, I realized I'm not the only one who had this exact same experience with him. That says a lot. If you get assigned to him, document EVERYTHING, ask for your file immediately, and be ready to advocate for yourself--because I did not feel represented, supported, or respected in any way.

Well, nobody really wants to write a review for a lawyer, much less a DUI lawyer... right? Well,…read morehere we go. I got caught up in the stupid stop-everyone-taskforce on St. Patty's Day 2011. Naturally I was drinking at my local pub, but knowing that cops were swarming outside I took it easy and waited. This didn't stop the cops from pulling me over immediately after pulling out of the parking lot and making up some bullshit "probable cause" for stopping me. In my case, it was an "improper left turn." (Bogus because I used all the proper lanes, used my turn signal, and didn't disobey any posted signs). I'm normally on the other side of the law so I didn't know what to really do. All I knew was that I wasn't drunk (4 drinks from 4pm til 9pm, and pulled over at 11pm) and that it'd be pretty shitty to go to jail for a DUI of which I wasn't guilty of. So, I hired Craig Penrod. JUICY DETAILS: So my BAC came back 0.04 so Arizona tossed out the DUI and the DUI OVER 0.08 charges automatically. This left the improper left turn charge for Arizona to collect on since it had invested it's police time and its judicial time in trying to prosecute an innocent. The state ended up dropping that too. MY THOUGHTS: To be honest, I've wondered many times, why did I cough up $4k to Craig to have the state drop two of the charges automatically? Would it have been better to just wait to hear the results, then hire him? Maybe. I hear that this is not the way to go, but lawyers may have made up that suggestion. So in my situation, it seemed like I paid Craig to do little to nothing. A far as his office goes, this is what I didn't like. Upon getting the BAC of 0.04 they asked me not once, but four times if I had any other "substances" in my blood that night. The reasoning behind the question is that you can be under the influence, but not drunk (drugs). I told him and his office each time that I barely did OTC medicines, much less illegal drugs. So, no. But they asked four times. Aren't you guys writing this down? Another thing I hated was partially due to me and my schedule. I work a night shift so attending to meetings during the day aren't always the easiest. His office repeatedly wanted me to come in to discuss various matters. Maybe this is for the client so that it is face-to-face and more confidential than over the phone but it was super annoying to me. So my BAC was 0.04, so call me... that isn't bad news and I don't need to drive 20 minutes just to sit in a lobby for 5 mins, just to sit in a room for 1 minute to tell me that my BAC was low so the state is dropping those charges. Maybe to help this the firm would benefit from having a questionnaire where the defendant can say how they want to be contacted or something. I'm sure some people would really like the face-to-face, but I personally found it annoying. With that said, they were pretty flexible on their times and slots. So in the end, what $4k got me was this... I got to sit on my ass and go on vacation while Craig did all the paperwork, went to hearings, and talked them out of the improper left turn charge. However, at first Craig did suggest that I just take the class/fine for that charge, to which I kindly told him that I "didn't make an improper left turn" and he said he's see if they'd drop it. C'mon Craig, this is what I'm paying you for! Get all that **** gone! I'll leave it at this. If you know you were drunk and need someone that knows how to work the system, Craig is probably a good choice. However, if you think you aren't drunk then it may be better just to wait it out.

During our motion to suppress hearing, opposing counsel showed clear evidence of expertise, photo evidence we WERE blocking the crosswalk and a strong argument. Mr. Pernod seemed to not have thoroughly reviewed the evidence, was reading news and doodling during the hearing, and did not present a strong defense. There were times that he wasn't able to form strong sentences verbally and rested the case without much dialogue. After the hearing, Mr. Penrod gave false information about what would be permitted on a restricted license when driving out of state. We would not recommend this practice based on our experience.
