1) My appointment was at 9 but the manicurist did not arrive until around 9:20. 2) The acrylics were the worst set that were lumpy and were extremely sloppily done. 3) The manicurist worked on my nails while working on another girl. 4) The tips were not even close to fitting my nails and there were sharp edges jabbing my nail bed. 5) Also note that I got my nails done Saturday and had to get them off on the following Wednesday because they were too painful. This may have been my worst experience at a nail bar ever. I will not be returning and I do not recommend this place at all. read more

When they first opened, I was thrilled. Airy, bright, clean. Fabulous, meticulous job on both manicures and pedicures. An autoclave for your tools? I love you! Hot water to soak your nails in, with a little slice of lemon floating on top. Many colors to chose from, including funky purple, blue, etc. I didn't go back for a few years, then decided to take my friend. We've tried three times since then, and it's just not the same, despite the addition of three more fancy pedi chairs. It's a little sad they have let their standards slip so much. --cold water to soak the nails in--no lemon (that's okay, but cold water?) --a dirty towel under my hands/arms at the mani station. --tools now appear to be soaked in Barbicide, not autoclaved. You're not supposed to use Barbicide for cuticle clippers or cuticle pushers. But they do. --boiling my feet in the pedi tub. Ouch! --rushed/sloppy nail prep (cuticle removal, buffing, etc.) --THICK gloppy coats of polish--sometimes three!-- that both look horrid and chip within a day. Last time, I went home and removed it all, redoing it myself. --around 30 bottles of nail color that practically all look the same; no funky colors, no classic colors like Samoan Sand. I was shocked! All in all, I'm going to stick to doing my nails at home. When I really need a professional "clean up" of my cuticles, I will go elsewhere. read more

Owner Tammy is very conscientious about her salon. I have been coming here since they opened, about seven years ago. The manicurists are very friendly, but some clients who come in are intolerant because the staff has accents or because their English is not perfect and these customers get pretty rude and disrespectful. I sometimes intervene to try and bridge the communication gap. I also want to commend their staff on how wonderful they are with seniors who come in. They are so gentle and caring with them. I came here 2 days ago for a mani-pedi because my sister had gotten me a gift certificate. Bad idea. Service was so rude. While getting my pedicure, Tammy throws me a bunch of sample colors and asks me to choose a color. As I start looking, Tammy then tells me to not look or move. After Tammy's done with my pedi, I asked if she had flip flops to walk around in the salon in for my mani, in which she rolls her eyes. As Tammy is doing my mani, she does an extremely sloppy job. Then, she starts yelling at me for my gel polish not drying fast enough but that's because she did not turn on the gel drying light for my nails to dry. DO NOT have your nails done here!!! I went in for a pedicure with my mom today and we are both extremely disappointed. The experience itself was fine..they are very nice, the chairs are comfy, etc. HOWEVER, after we left, we both noticed that the nail polish was lumpy. It looks like little grains of sand or something were in the nail polish. So we wasted our money because now we need to do them over ourselves or pay someone else to redo them. I knew a $20 pedicure was too good to be true. ****Also, I did not see ANY LICENSES other than business licenses around the whole salon. It is a state board regulation to post every nail technician's license in plain view! I looked all over and did not see any...which leads me to wonder, ARE THEY EVEN LICENSED??? read more

Yikes came here after a long day to get a regular pedicure done. Came at around 5PM and they close 7PM, so it wasn't near closing. Have no idea why but the lady who was doing my nails was rushing with the job and I started bleeding because she was too speedy and wasn't careful enough. Didn't scold her about it or make any negative comments because honestly, what can she do about it now? She finished the job and after my nails tried I proceeded to pay and they still charged me $20 full price for the pedicure. I know $20 isn't a lot, but customer service should always come first! I think I should've been charged less, and given a small discount of at least 20% because now my pedicure is adorned with dried blood. Not gonna recommend this place and I would suggest going to V & V nails a block over or Four Seasons Nails, which by the way has slightly lower costs and way better customer service. read more

Back in the day when I had a cuticle picking problem, I discovered the magic of gel mani's and was astonished at the technology (admittedly I came late to the game :-), so I loved my experience here--they were meticulous and did the job very well. I also appreciated they encouraged me to come back for removal, anticipating the urge to peel it off. Notwithstanding that I didn't end up going back, I'd recommend them. I would love to keep coming here because it's convenient but unfortunately I won't be. I've had my nails done numerous times by the owner, who also is the only one who knows how todo acrylic. Its a hit or miss every time and refuses to fix imperfections or says she'll do it next time. For paying $40 plus tip every time and you can't get what you ask for is unexpected. After reading some great reviews online, I decided to give this place a go. I was easily persuaded to get the deluxe pedicure and was really pleased with the result as well as Jenny who took her time working away at my dead skin. Sounds gross I know, but my feet are now smooth as a baby's bottom. The foot and leg massage however, could have been better. She didn't apply much pressure and I felt she totally soaked my legs in lotions and oils making it a little difficult to effectively massage. Pedicure was worth it though, maybe next time I'll just get the regular pedicure at $25 instead of the deluxe at $45. read more

This was my first time at this nail salon and I am completely not satisfied. The service was quick, but I am not pleased with the work that was done. I went in for an acrylic fill. I had a 9a Saturday appt which I still had to wait 15 minutes. The very next day, the acrylic cracked on one of my nails and the clear nail polish started turning yellow. I went back on Monday and Tammy was very rude and defensive. She assumed I did something to make the clear polish turn yellow. I asked if she could fix the cracked nail and re-polish - she told me to come back because she was busy - there was no one waiting then she told me I should of called and then was very hasty. Her last line "do you want me to fix or not"? That was it, I told her no and I would not come back nor recommend this salon to anyone. the worst service. The only reason I even went to this place is because my nail shop VV nails on broadway was closed. I got a mani/pedi. The nail polish was old and as she was painting I told her that I see lines and I think its because the polish is old. She said that it was not the polish that it was my nails, then started speaking in whatever language they speak in. Ok, so I have no direct proof, hence I don't want to say that this place is what gave me toe nail fungus, but suffice to say I've never had it before in my life and got it shortly after coming here. I'd been here once before years ago with my sister-in-law and a friend for a mani/pedi, and they did an amazing job, so I decided to go back this December in preparation for my work's holiday party. Everything seemed fine, the women did a good job, but I noticed that they seemed to be recycling their rubber gloves, as in they were just washing them off, rather than using new ones out of a box or a jar or something. I just figured this place was professional, so I didn't have anything to worry about, and my nails looked great at the end. After a couple weeks, I noticed that my toenails on my big toes were getting kind of yellow. I just figured it was the laquer, as it took a really long time to come off. Then I started to get a big discolored area on one of my toes, but I play a lot of sports, so I figured maybe it was some kind of nail damage? Nope. Toe nail fungus. Again, I'm not trying to slander the place, but the whole recycled gloves thing seemed a bit sketchy, and the timing of it all seems a bit coincidental. Great little shop. Had just gotten off a plane from Taiwan and was exhausted and my feet and nails needed some recovery after two weeks in Bangkok. They squeezed us in close to closing time and the mani pedi was great at $30. The massage chair was just the ticke after a 10 hour flight. Great selection of colors. read more

This place is the reason I stopped going to Today's Nails. Yes, it's a bit pricey(there are other places that do acrylics for $20 with the same quality--but they're up in the city so I come here) but when you look at your nails and the quality of the outcome, gahd, the price is worth it. The ladies there are also really nice and they spend A LOT of time on your nails and that is really important to me since I never feel like I'm wasting their time(I'm 18 and adults usually don't take kids seriously at a business). It's location is also good cause after you can go get a bite to eat or go next door to Pete's. I like the whole place in general since the inside is just so clean and bright and idk. There's a whole bunch of glass which makes the place feel somewhat classy. Maybe it's just me. Anyways, I'll stop typing now and just say, this place is great, try it out. read more

Tina is the BEST, if she wasn't working at the salon, I wouldn't be coming here. I've been a regular for years since I was in middle school and now I'm in my mid twenties. She's done my nails for my birthdays, formals, proms and now weddings. She's the only one I trust- she's sweet, polite and attentive. I love the way she shapes my nails. She always paints the polish all the way to my cuticles no 'one week' gap effect that you get at some salons. I always call ahead and book an appointment with her specifically for my gel mani and regular pedi. She's the best tech and I know this since I have had all of the other techs do my nails at this salon. If you come here ask for an appointment with her and if your walking in she's the petit older women with glasses and she always has her hair tied in a ponytail. If you get her you're in great hands! This review is long over due- however I like to keep hidden gems hidden since I wouldn't be getting my appointments if she's completely booked! read more

When I discovered her working at my local salon in Millbrae I was thrilled! Bella was over priced and often understaffed. Sami knows her clients style and always goes the extra mile to make your hands look like art! Sami can create a custom look, which she has done for me many times, or she can do the most beautiful pink and white fill you have ever seen. I'm having a difficult time rating this salon because I've been here a few times and have had pretty good experiences but today was terrible. I would not suggest the lady who is the receptionist. I am not sure what her name is but she simply has way too much to handle. She needs to pick up the phone, greet the customer, handle the register, etc. She cannot concentrate on your nails. I believe that it is because she is so busy so she seems to get impatient and annoyed very easily. She made me bleed and she was making me feel very uncomfortable because she looked annoyed and pissed off the whole time. When i asked her something, she either looked annoyed or she said that that is the way it's supposed to be. Definitely would not suggest her or suggest anyone to go during a time that they might be busy. I will give it three stars because I've had better experiences with this salon but this time was terrible. Bad service and I am not happy with my nails. read more
