I got a flat tire and called 3 tire companies for quotes. Tony from Millbrae Tire and Auto Repair gave me the best quote, best service on the phone and nearest appointment time. He said that they'd have to order my tire online because it's not a typical one they carry and that he'd call me when he gets it 2 days later. I got his call at 7:30AM, came in at 10AM and was out the door by 10:20AM. Very quick service! He did a check on the rest of my tires to let me know which tires will need to be changed out soon. I experienced an issue after leaving the shop where my tire pressure warning turned on in my dashboard. I called Tony, he said to come back so they could check it out. They checked tire pressure on all my tires and said everything checked out. Sometimes the warning can be finicky. He calibrated again and everything is working fine now. I had a non-repairable tire and I automatically thought of SF Costco. They had my tires in stock BUT no appointments available for 2 weeks! They suggested I do a walk-in. I arrived at 9:30 and after waiting in line for over 40 minutes, Costco announced they could only take 1 more walk-in. The first 2 walk-ins got there at 7AM waiting for them to open at 9AM. I left that line and went over to MT on my brothers suggestion...not only did they have tires in stock for me, but I was in and out with 4 new tires in less than 1 hour. Customer service was super quick, friendly and efficient. I'm also glad I was able to support this small business who has stood the test of time! As far as prices, i got Yokohamas at MT for about the same price as Michelins on sale at Costco. But going to Costco was a major PAIN IN THE A**!! read more

I was very happy with my experience. I was able to order tires and have them installed next day while I waited. Friendly and efficient service. My car felt new when I drove away and the tires have felt great in the week since. The shop is near downtown Millbrae so you can shop while you wait or hop on Caltrain at the nearby station if your wait is longer. read more

I've been coming to this place for over 10 years and I owe them this review! Long story short, my screen showed the right rear tire has a psi of 24 (psi 42 being normal for my car). I know there must be a puncture in my tire. Went to Tesla, waited 2 hours and ended up "I'm sorry. I thought we have the tire in stock but apparently the inventory on the computer isn't updated. We don't have the tire". So they patched it up and put me back on the road. I was told to get the tire replaced within a week and do NOT drive over 75mph with the "patched up" tire. Tried calling Tesla Service, waited 30 mins and no one answered. So I called Tesla Burlingame again. The quote for 1 tire is $621.xx. And they recommended me to replace the rear PAIRS. I asked them if they can order them and I'll bring in the car and have them replaced. They said "no. You have to do it via the Tesla App". At this point, I got really annoyed as I feel like Tesla's customer service is free falling. No one cares and no one is picking up the phone. So I decided to give Millbrae Tire a call. Tony picked up the phone. I gave him the tire info and immediately he gave me a price with labor. $880 plus tax FOR A PAIRS!!! and they will be delivered to Millbrae Tires by 1pm that same day! I said Let's do it! I showed up at 12:30pm the next day, by 1:15pm I was driving out of their driveway with 2 brand new tires! They are efficient, straight forward, and most importantly HONEST! Totally professional, quick and reasonably priced. My car was towed to their shop in the middle of the night by AAA (which I guess happens to them regularly?) and they handled the situation calmly and efficiently, even though my repair was unexpected. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it so fast that I was trying to figure out how to get back there before they closed the same day. They worked with me to arrange to come and get the car after hours, which saved me a lot of trouble (and money, because I had a rental in the meantime that needed to be returned). I have now been taking my 2007 Yukon for service and tires for a while now and it would be an injustice not to give them a review. I like to work on my own vehicles, sometimes there are situation that I can't handle so I need a professional to deal with it. I have found from the start that the people that I have dealt with are very straight forward and have been extremely honest. So far, every time I have gone to them they physically diagnose the problem and then give me a estimate and time frame before they start working on it. They seem to be always busy so unless it is a emergency you need to make a appointment ahead of time. It is really a pleasure to converse and deal with Tony and Vadim. I do not feel comfortable with Millbrae Tire having a 4.5 star rating. For the record my ratings go like this. 1 Star - Workmanship and/or Customer service is poor. Poor customer service due to dishonesty/rudeness or generally being unprofessional. 2 Star - Completed the job but workmanship could be better. 3 Star - Completed the job with workmanship and service as normal. 4 Star - Completed the job normally and service was friendly. 5 Star - Completed the job in record time with stellar workmanship and service was friendly. I went to the Millbrae tire shop on a Monday morning for a nail in a flat tire repair. I had already dismounted the tire since I was lucky enough to be at home when the tire went flat. It was a slow leak with a nail. The first thing the service tech said when I walked in the door was, "Man this looks like an old tire. Looks like it needs to be replaced with a new one." And I responded with "...no. The tire is from a relatively new (2018) car with only 25,000 miles." And instantly without explaining why, the tech looked at the tire sidewall and said "2017... I do not feel comfortable with working on your tire." And I said thank you and walked out the door. For the record, the tire has maybe 3 or 5 mm left on the treads (new tires have about 7mm) and have not reached the tire wear indicators. I am not made of money and do not replace tires when they still have thread left in them. And for the tech to not bother to measure or explain this to me was both unexpected and unprofessional. And it felt like there was an ulterior motive to refusing service. Maybe they wanted to sell me 4 tires when I really just needed to remove a nail? I do not know if this place of business is out to rip people off. But I feel that because I was a knowledgeable consumer, they did not want my business, so they dismissed me without clear explanation. Which is rude. I feel that companies with such high ratings should be providing stellar workmanship and honest service. I do not feel comfortable with how Millbrae tire treated this customer and I feel that their management maybe actively preying/targeting customers that are "non-car guys" and up selling them on things they do not need. read more

Tire had a leak so I stopped by after calling. Staff member looked at it right away. While he wasn't able to fix it (said the tire was too old to be repaired), he was a straight shooter and helpful (he even filled the tires). Will be back to buy a new tire. read more

The Millbrae location is the black sheep of the family. Service is relatively poor compared to other locations, such as the Redwood City location which is excellent. On my last visit to America's Tire in Millbrae, they told me my car was ready but when I opened the trunk I saw that they had not put the spare tire back into the spare tire well properly, so the trunk floor was sticking up 3 inches. Then, after they fixed that, I showed them that they only had four wheel nut covers on the wheel. They said "Oh yes, one was missing". I pointed to the "missing" wheel nut cover in the trunk, next to where the other four had been. They fixed that. Then I started the car and pointed out to them that the tire pressure sensors had not been reset. They told me that the tire pressure sensors would automatically reset once I drove the car. I said "are you sure?" They said they were sure. But nope, wrong answer, that's not how it works. I had to do it myself. read more

Every now and then something goes wrong at the wrong time. For me, it was a flat tire in an SFO garage after getting off of a late night flight. AAA was useless, but I was able to get the car to Millbrae tire and left the car, my key in the night drop slot, and a voicemail before Ubering home. The next morning I called early. They had already looked at my car, had recommendations ready, and my car repaired for a reasonable price and waiting before I could get back to Millbrae from the East Bay at 930.
