I had a nail in my tire and first called a shop down the street that usually fixes this for free, but they had no appointments available--and even the last time I had an appointment there, I still waited nearly an hour. I called around and got quoted $50 elsewhere, then called this shop and they quoted me only $25 and said it would take about 10 minutes. I pulled up and was literally in and out in 5 minutes. I honestly couldn't believe it. Fast, fair, efficient, and amazing service. They saved me time, money, and a huge headache. This is definitely my go-to spot now. I've been coming to this establishment when it was still called "Best Auto Service." True to its name-sake, it was the best and is still the best as Vital Auto Service. Salvadore has always been an honest technician with me since 2011. I take my car to the dealership for the routine 5k maintenance and inspection. Each time they have found issues, I would take my car to Salvadore and he diagnosed it with the exact same issues for half the cost. And he has always serviced my car the same day. Salvador you are a rude and expensive place to fix cars. You are misleading your customers by comparing your prices to dealerships. you charge almost much as dealers do, dealerships and several other places have better parking and one does not have to take the risk of having their cars hit in a cramped and small parking lot. you should learn something from tech Motors across the street, he truly and honestly charges less then the dealers, does a great job and great work for almost 1/3 less then you charge. You are misleading people regarding being better than the dealers. If you charge almost as much as the dealers, then what is the point of coming to you as it is documented also that cars last longer when serviced by dealerships. When I just asked when I came to pick my car and just asked why a full synthetic was done when we had agreed to a semi synthetic oil change on an old car earlier that day. you were rude, asked your receptionist to get rid of me. you snapped at a elderly lady, like your mechanics snapped at a desperate chinese lady, this I experienced in front of my eyes. It was a very simple basic question which you snapped at me for. Your are misleading your clients and charge them an arm and a leg for services that are much better and less expensive elsewhere at many places in our immediate bay area. I can prove this if need be. Your charged me $40 labor for a cabin filter replacement, I just paid $20 for labor yesterday. So as they say, the proof is in the pudding. This is a documented truth. I will take this over to the Better Business Bureau soon to tell them how you reacted by just asking about why a full synthetic oil change was done, instead of the one we had already discussed earlier that day to be a semi synthetic oil change on an old car. I guess instead of the approx. $59 for semi synthetic you tried to make an additional $30 by charging me $89. Many places have deals and do synthetic oil changes for this price. In fact the dealerships and other places often have this price or lower with a coupon which are frequently given to all their regular customers. you never have any coupons, Just a very rude disposition for an elderly lady and the a chinese lady. read more

The owner, Salvador, is usually the one that helps me.. and it's been over half a year since my last visit but seems like he still remembers me (which is nice). I come in for an oil and filter change with my own purchased oil and filter - so basically needing the labor service. I have relocated to San Jose but I am in the Peninsula from time to time for work so I finally made the time to stop by and do a walk-in on a Thursday afternoon during lunch time. Of course it was bad timing.. it was completely packed. I told Salvador that I would hate to leave town without getting the service so he recommended me to come back after 4pm when it's not as busy.. so that's what I did. I tried calling a few times but they seem to never pick up in the morning or end of day. This shop was recommended to me by America's Tire for a wheel alignment. The prices are a little high compared to other shops so I didn't get it done here. When asking for a quote to get an after market part installed, they quoted me a high labor time cost. We were recommended to Salvador the Owner by America's Tire because we were looking to get our car aligned after getting 4 new tires. We arrived at Vital Auto Service and he said, let me check the suspension first before we proceed to the alignment. Salvador did the check and backed the car off the alignment rack. Salvador was very honest and explained to us that the alignment would not work out if the suspension didnt get fixed. He explained to us in detail what needed to get fixed. The inner and outer tie rods were loose and ripped. He also mentioned the control arm and ball joint were also a big issue and that we should not be driving the car. After the excellent service he showed us the old parts and we were so glad Salvador fixed the issue. He makes my Dad and I feel safe to be back on the road. I Highly recommend Salvador to get your car serviced by him and his team. He is very passionate and goes above and beyond his work ethic. He is very personable and understanding. Salvador is the best and most honest mechanic and owner around. I've been bringing him all my cars for close to 10 years now. A true mechanic who doesn't need a computer to fix your car. Too many around that can't diagnose an issue unless your car has on board diagnostic. Used to bring him my 67 vw and he could quickly tell what the issue was. I often am skeptical about taking the car in alone...especially for the first time and not just because I am a woman but because I'm a person with hardly any knowledge about the ins and outs of cars. However, I know how to communicate, ask questions and request to be shown what exactly is the issue. Salvador is the owner here and he was my hero a couple days ago. My tire had blown out on the freeway, and while I was waiting for the tow truck, I started calling around to see who had my size tire in stock. Salvador answered and thankfully had my tire and quoted me a really reasonable price. As I continued to wait and wait for my tow, I called back, concerned that I wouldn't get there until close to closing, and Salvador immediately assured me not to worry, that he would be there to make sure I could get on my way. The tow finally came and Salvador met the tow truck, told him where to put my car to drive it as minimally as possible on the flat, and told me he was going to start on my car immediately because he knew I must be so tired. This is my second time coming here. 1st for an alignment, which was good. Second was for broken lug nut studs from Americas tire down the street. Americas tire broke 4 lug studs on my car. They said it was 2 but Vital auto showed me that there were 4 total broken. They changed them no problem. He had to order the parts but I was out of there within 2 hours. Regarding americas tire, I've always gone there and have not had any problems. Maybe it was a new employee that broke my car because they broke 2 studs on the passenger front, and 2 at passenger rear. I'll go back to them again since I got my tires there but I'll make sure I mention that I don't want anymore broken parts from my car like last time. read more
