Lou is a business I can trust to be honest, affordable, hard working, and reliable!! This guy lets his reputation do the talking. I previously went to another auto repair who listed several issues (engine oil, brake belt, leaking water coolant, replace filters, tires, etc). I definitely needed serious repairs done. The previous shop quoted me $3k including labor. I asked around and was recommended Lou's. I called 730am and he called me back 15 mins later and welcomed me to bring the car by for a free inspection. He said the previous shop was correct in their assessment. I did need all those repairs but a couple could wait until my next oil change or in 5000 miles. He also said I could go to Costco to get my tires done (a place that referred business elsewhere def means he's looking out for customers!!). He quoted me $1696 including labor!!! I was shocked and grateful for his honest quote. I was able to leave the car and pick it up at the end of the day. They also test drove it on the streets and freeway to make sure everything was solid. I cannot rave enough about Lou's. I trust him and his crew 1000%. He made a life customer. read more

Recently brought my 2021 Lexus in for Luis to inspect a damaged right side rear view mirror. The top cover of the mirror had been ripped off and the mirror itself was left partially dangling. The lower housing appeared undamaged with all the exposed wiring appearing to be still intact. The first shop I took my vehicle to informed me that although the exterior of lower base appeared ok cosmetically, there might be unseen damage to the inside of the unit, given that a plastic piece did appear to have been snapped off. Hmmm, but ok, seems logical. Since the entire unit required replacement and given all the electronics involved, the OEM price + labor + tax was over $1,300. Yikes! Checked out Lou's Auto Repair; he took a look at this and that, wiggled here, pinched there and he declared that I'd only need to replace the plastic top cover of the mirror. WT-! Total bill out the door, $135. Moral of the story, always get multiple estimates and always include Lou's Auto Repair for an honest estimate, and timely professional workmanship. read more

So after 16 years, the starter on my Honda finally gave out (typical symptom: you turn the key, the dashboard lights up, but it doesn't make the "tuh-tuh-tuh" sound aka silence). Often a weak battery is the culprit, but I figured it was something else as the battery is pretty new (2 years), and the engine cranking ("tuh-tuh-tuh") became slower and slower. My friends tried to jump the battery anyway without any success. So it was off to AAA for a tow to Lou's, whom it's been a while since I've been (fortunately) but remembered from my previous meeting that he's genuine and honest. He has changed locations to a much bigger facility (sounds successful!) including a vehicle lift that looks like it could raise a semi so if you have a huge vehicle, Lou's can likely handle it. The best parts about Lou's is - he responds quickly, honestly, professionally (you're not going to be ghosted); your issues will be fixed (and if it can't be, he'll let you know without wasting your money on unnecessary repairs); and he does his absolute best to make sure you're taken care of - he'll answer any questions you have, he'll listen to any of your concerns, and he'll just do you right as best as possible. I had a check engine light on with my 2012 Toyota Corolla and they replaced the spark plugs and I decided to replace 3 more coils, because I plan to drive my car for 300k miles or so and don't want problems and want to keep it in good condition. Amazing amazing service!!! I've been here 3 times already (bad luck me) but all 3 times the owner (I'm guessing is Lou) was fantastic! I came here twice for a nail in my tire to get patched and one to get my tires rotated. The last visit for the tire patch I called at 5pm (they close at 6) and asked if I can come in for a patch. No hesitation, they were welcoming and said to come over. I pulled up and immediately, Lou recognized me and got to patching. Within 5 mins, my tire was patched!! Lou is very friendly and professional. We had a small leak in one of our tires and I drove it in yesterday morning for Lou to take a look at it. He said he would inspect it and if they could repair it, they will and gave me a very competitive quote. I sat in the waiting area for maybe 12 minutes. Lou went with me on a test drive, talked through options, put the car up to take a look around. Gave some more thoughts, but never, ever, gave any pressure to do any work. Notice a rear tire leak after parking the car. Called all the nearby Burlingame tire leak places as I live very close. People were either unfriendly, didn't pick up, or said the wait would be anywhere from 1-4 hours. Lou's repair told me to drop by and said they could work on it immediately. I am 10 mins, got there, and he patched and plugged the leaking tire without any wait. My smog check did not pass initially due to a faulty GSR reading. Long story short, I called Lou for the first time after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. Lou suggested that I swing by his shop so he could do a quick diagnostic check. I did stop by, and he explained to me that the check engine light is no longer on (it probably initially came on due to an error), and that if I had another smog check, it would most likely pass. I did just that, and he was absolutely correct; my smog passed the second time around! Brought my car in today for a burning smell. Lou checked it out quickly and figured out the issue was caused by a plastic bag that had gotten stuck on the underside of my car exhaust, causing the burning smell. His guys hoisted up my car, cleaned it up, and had my car back to me in 10 minutes. What was crazy was he didn't charge me a thing. Lou's Auto Repair saved a road trip from disaster. I am so impressed with Lou's that I wish I lived closer so they could be my regular shop. I had just replaced the front right axle on my daughter's car in preparation for a road trip from Southern California to Seattle and back. On the second morning, on her way from Santa Cruz to Humboldt, the car began to shake when she accelerated. I started looking for places that she could go that were near where she was.... I called a friend who lives in the area, and their mechanic could look at the car in two to three days! I called Lou's, told him that my daughter and her friend were on their first road trip, and that I needed them to be taken care of. He assured me he would look at the car right away and that his son had just graduated from high school as well. He told me, "Don't worry, I will take care of it." The new axle I just had put in the car was faulty....Lou's replaced it and got her back on the road in a few hours. Put the faulty part in the back of the car so that I can try to get a refund! My Audi Q7 had issue as the air wouldn't flow for defrosting the windshield. I brought my car to the Audi dealer and learned that this issue was not covered by warranty and quoted for nearly $2000 dollar to fix the issue. As the dealer wasn't explained the issue to me very clearly and the communication seems not transparent, I decided not to repair at the dealer. The dealer charged $300 dollar for diagnosis fee. I called around the local shops. Luckily, I found Lou's auto repair Burlingame. I absolutely was astonished by Luis' professionalism and honesty. He told me the details about which part had issue. Luis personally went to the Audi dealer to find the part for my car, unfortunately the part that dealer offered was not compatible with my car. Luis found a temporary fix for the issue (now the AC flow works). Luis stated that we need to find the correct part to fix the issue until then he wouldn't charge me anything. Luis' team had already spent several hours on my car to find out the issue and tried to fix the issue. For a person like me, who knows nothing about car mechanics, Luis could easily charge me one/two thousands, I wouldn't even know. Luis will absolutely be my go-to guy for anything related to my car. Had my car towed in because it wouldn't start. Louis found the loose connection in probably less than thirty seconds, and told me to take it to the shop that did a poor repair job previously.
