    Bloody Mary

I love this place. The bloody Mary's are incredible. Great food, amazing view and if you sit at the bar you get to converse with the bartender Kelly..SHE IS A HOOT. I absolutely love her. so far we've had the breakfast sandwich, chicken and waffles, and the breakfast burrito. They were all fabulous. Update: here 8 days after my original post...three weekends in a row. It's a place you just don't want to leave. I suggest sitting inside, it's just great.

Be prepared to wait. It even says it on the menu. I almost left three stars but because this was only my first visit, I'm going to come back to give them another shot. This place is off the beaten path which makes it somewhat of a hidden gem. Think small-town lakefront bar without the chaos of one of the bigger lakefront bars. This place is open earlier than most lakefront places since they serve breakfast. I love that. We were seated immediately and it was just before 11am on a Saturday. Seemed like a steady crowd. About 5-7 min after we were seated, a table of 9 was seated. We still had not been approached by a server which was not a big deal to me until, a server tapped the edge of our table as she walked by and said a server would be with us shortly and then headed to the table of 9 asking if she could get them started with drinks. Wait, why are you heading to the table of 9 that was still arranging their chairs and hadn't even all sat down yet but we've been seated, looked at menus and ready to order drinks AND meal? It was a bit frustrating. Our waitress finally came to our table. She was friendly and helpful. Drinks took a bit to come out but theres a complimentary pitcher of water at every table so no biggie. Food was about 40 minutes but at the lake, that's actually not unusual. My friend was unimpressed with the food. She said the French toast was cold and terrible and the "Bubbas Taters" were soggy. I didn't share her disgust for the food but really wasn't something I'd come back for. The drink "twisted parrot" bucket was delish. Well mixed great combination. I would possibly come back for a drink here. Food, maybe. Wouldn't order the same thing again though. Seemed like many plates around us had a breakfast burrito. Maybe try that instead.

    Chicken and waffles

Super chill brunch vibes on the lake with live music as a bonus. We arrived and there was a small line so we figured the wait would be long but it wasnt. We were seated quickly ordered but it took forever for our food to come out. The food was good but we needed more syrup &a refill of orange juice, it took forever for our server to come back and check on us. The food was good and hot and fresh but i assume they were understaffed as the wait time for our food was long.

awesome breakfast burritos and bloody Marys! we came here to gas up our friend's boat and we had ordered breakfast burritos ahead of time. our friends with the lake house love this place! we got our stuff to go, but did look around. fun and friendly atmosphere. the people that worked there were so nice! the Bloody Mary was rich in spice and flavor! the rim of the cup had yummy spices. oh and a huge fried shrimp! the breakfast burritos were amazing. I had the egg, bacon, cheese, and hash brown burrito and some in our group got the one with sausage instead of bacon. we all just ate a 1/2 burrito and that was filling enough! definitely a favorite of the weekend!

The upper level has a more upscale feel, with a beautiful dining room and an incredible covered outdoor space complete with a stage for live music. The massive windows and stunning views overlooking the peninsula make it the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening. As for the food... wow. I had the crab legs, which were cooked perfectly, but can we talk about the green beans for a minute? They were ridiculously good. If licking the bowl in public wasn't frowned upon, I might have considered it. Colin ordered the salmon, which was absolutely beautiful and served with rice pilaf. Chris went with the crab-crusted walleye, and it was cooked to perfection. Emma Grace chose the giant pretzel, and giant is an understatement, it was the size of a dinner plate! It came with an assortment of charcuterie-style accompaniments that were fantastic all on their own. Then came dessert, and somehow things got even better. The bread pudding was hands-down one of the best I've ever had. I don't eat bread pudding often, but this one may have ruined all future bread puddings for me. We also shared the cheesecake and cookie skillet, and every bite was delicious. To top it all off, our waitress Makayla was absolutely wonderful and made the entire experience even better. Great food, beautiful views, amazing service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Encore knocked it out of the park. We'll definitely be making a return trip next summer!

She was fantastic and we had a great experience. I ordered the ratatouille lasagna which came with 2 sides. I had the baked potato and vegetable medley. The food was very tasty! Highly recommend this place!

Experiences have always had up-and-down moments, but this time was disappointing because I really wanted it to be great. It just wasn't. The Good: The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the waterfront ambiance is spot on. It's clearly the place to be at the lake--so good job on the venue. The Service & Atmosphere: Service was adequate, but far from fine dining. If you're charging premium prices, the service model needs to match. Having random runners drop food at the table without knowing who ordered what is diner or casual Mexican restaurant service, not an elegant dining experience. The new manager stopped by twice--a nice touch, until we actually provided constructive feedback. Instead of offering a remedy, he offered excuses about being new and didn't handle criticism well. The Food: Apps (Deviled Eggs & Tuna): Both looked like they'd been plated earlier in the day--they had an unappetizing "sheen" to them that made them look leftover rather than fresh. The flavor on the eggs was completely muted, and the tuna was equally lusterless. Salads: We split the Caesar, and our friends had the wedge. They were served without any offer of fresh pepper. When we flagged down a staff member, they brought out cheap grocery-store salt and pepper grinders. Later, we were told the new chef prefers not to offer pepper on the table. With all due respect to the chef: that's the guest's choice, not yours. (Side note: the wedge was tasty, but oddly wasn't actually cut into a wedge). Mains: The ladies had the Sea Bass--the dish that originally put this place on the map. It was okay, but not as good as it used to be; the new Asian flair and bowl presentation take away from what used to make it the star of the show. The pork chop was good and thoroughly enjoyed. My lasagna had a great portion size and good base flavor, but it was dry as jerky with practically zero sauce. The Verdict: The restaurant will continue to thrive simply because of its location and the lack of competing fine-dining options on the water. But when you're dropping $500 on dinner, you expect accountability and an outstanding meal. We won't be back anytime soon.

For our entrées, I ordered the English cut prime rib with a twice-baked potato, and my wife ordered the steak bites. My prime rib was cooked perfectly and the potato was excellent. Overall, the food was very good. My wife felt that the steak bites were overwhelmed by pepper, which took away from her enjoyment of the dish. One thing we found disappointing was the value. The meals only came with one side, and considering the prices, we felt the food was significantly overpriced for what was included. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress did little beyond taking our order and bringing the check. The appetizer was delivered by another employee, the busser brought out our entrées, and he was also the one who refilled our drinks throughout the evening. While everyone was polite, we never felt like our waitress was engaged or attentive to our table. For me, great service can elevate a meal, and poor service can diminish even great food. I would rather have mediocre food with outstanding service than outstanding food with mediocre service. While we enjoyed most of what we ate, the lackluster service and poor value left a lasting impression. Because of that, we will likely not return.
